This just in from Women’s Wear Daily! Not surprisingly, the exclusive photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newborn twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, sold big. How big? 2.6 million copies big!
According to the trade journal, “The issue is the biggest seller in seven years, and is the fourth highest newsstand seller in the magazine’s 35-year history, behind the Sept. 11 issue (4.1 million single copies), the issue covering Princess Diana’s death (3 million) and the one covering the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. (2.8 million). The June 19, 2006 issue with the exclusive baby pictures of Brad and Angelina’s first daughter, Shiloh, moved 2.2 million newsstand copies (perhaps the extra Pitt-Jolie baby provided a bigger draw this time).”

Actually, the twin’s issue in People was the top grosser ever (in the glad tidings anyway). If you come to think of it, the top 3 mentioned were about tragedies, big tragedies that can only happen in one lifetime.

I loved African Girl’s post. It went into great detail and shows that she has first-hand knowlege and experience about what she spoke, unlike someone blogging from a supposed vacation spot. There are too many perpretrators out there but there are some real down-to-earth no BS people on this post as well.

This is an example of ’shotgun trolling’. Loud and inaccurate but with the hope some of it will hit. The sad truth is many relationships don’t succeed no matter how long the relationship. It is a truth of our times more than it is about people. But all you haters should know this, if this relationship does eventually end these two are always going to be inextricably linked. Between the two of them they have created a marvelous family, they have become greater individuals as a result of their relationship with each other; stronger yet more vulnerable, enriched yet more selfless. Right now they are living at the highest levels of passion AND thoughtfulness. Regardless of where their relationship goes, in the one life were given you don’t forget or get over these kinds of precious gifts. In other words this is the pinnacle of their lives. Nothing or no one after this could possibly come near to what these two are achieving together now. And don’t think they don’t know this.

ITA. Colin Powell has been down humiliation road with the Republicans already. He needs to stay out of it or he’ll get thrown to the wolves again.
I know I am late commenting on this, but 2.6 million copies is a lot of magazines. This is even more impressive when you consider the state of the economy - hight food and gas prices. And on top of that the issue was priced higher regular issues. So Congratulations to Poeple magazine and the Jolie-Pitts. That money will do a lot of good for a lot of people.

I would love it if she comes, but she is still recovering for a C-section and breastfeeding. Of course, there is the possibility of post-partum depression.
Angelina needs to do what is best for her and only she would know if she could stand walking the red carpet. Plus… I just can’t see Brad guilt-tripping Angelina into coming.
At any rate, time seems to be dragging. I really want to see BAR and it’s taking months for September 12th to get here. And the VFF isn’t any better.

There is speculation that Colin Powell might vote for Obama. Wolf Blitzer did everything except jump on his head to say who he was endorsing during the primaries. Wolf asked if he would vote for a democract and Colin said yes he would and he has before.
Saw this on Huffington Reports that there is speculation that Condi Rice might also vote for Obama. There wasn’t an interview where Condi said this, just speculation. Peace

I like Ryan and Rachel too and I haven’t even seen The Notebook. They seem lowkey and the way they handled their breakup paved the way for a plausible and welcomed reconciliation.
And let’s be honest… a certain person is on the loose and has a pseudo-sassy If your elbow is as hard as your… Gosling story. Since there is a tendency for a certain person’s fanbase to go from 0 to Mac 5 whenever there’s a single, somewhat successful man is on the loose, Gosling could been even more motivated to get back with Rachel. Rachel walks the walk, seems pretty low maintenance and mature, and doesn’t have a gaggle of ‘friends’ who badmouths.
i think ryan and rachel are a very cute couple. they seem to be very simpatico. i loved them in the notebook.
