Celine Dion Gets Quebec Quixotic
Celine Dion receives an award from Quebec City Mayor, Regis Labeaume, during a ceremony in Quebec City on Thursday.
The 40-year-old singer was born in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada and thoroughly enjoyed her trip back home! She will be performing a free show tonight in Quebec City as part of a year-long birthday celebration to mark the 400th anniversary of the provincial capital. Over 200,000 are expected to show up to the Plains of Abraham!
Celine was joined by husband Rene Angelil and son Rene Charles. Her son is now 7!

I love Celine Dion!!!! Hope her concert is a great success…. AND to NUMBER # 2, there you again…… We really don’t know how you feel about this ROBERT person. For someone who writes on these posts daily, you fail to show your feelings on this one terribly….. In the future you need to REALLY breathe IN and breathe OUT slowly, and type his name clearly so we all know who you mean… OK NUMBER # 2????

This ”doc honoris causa” is an insult to every student that attends Laval University (like me!). It’s an insult to everyone who does research and works hard to obtain their own diplomas.
If only we knew you could get it by singing songs on a stage!

quit hatin ppl,just cause Celine has more money than you’ll ever dream of and she lets HER KID NOT YOURS have the freedom to if HE wants HIS hair cut or not,get over it.You can’t parent someone else’s kid just cause you don’t like their hair or slam the parent because they got an award.
Her concert last night was amazing ! There were a lot of great french artists who performed over 30 songs alone or with Céline !
I went to Laval University and let me tell you that Céline deserves her honoris causa more than me!!!
She worked so hard all her life and is a model of dedication, hard work, discipline, ambition, determination and a proof that you can do what you want if you put your heart in it… What a great exemple.
Of course you can’t compare her to a regular student but she truly deserved that award.
She got her diploma from the rector of Laval University (on the picture with her) and the key of the city from the mayor of Quebec.
I saw her show in Montréal this week and watched the show on the Plains of Abraham last night…. totally awesome.
Yes I would love to cut her son’s hair but leave him alone… it is his hair… He can do what he wants with it.
Céline is a great, great star but mostly a great person.

The doctorate is ok, but her press conference where she kept saying life is more important than education is not the message to give young people. Her son had an F, she said René Charles this is just like an A because you did your best….well. You need education today, real education. Anyone can get up there and lipsynch, but to get a degree, get pass the learning curve, is not easy.
Only 40. Seems like she’s been around forever.
Celine might be a great singer, but she is also one of the most silliest star I’ve ever seen.
