Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer face off at “Grapple in the Apple” presented by Nike at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Thursday in New York City.
Nadal and Federer both took questions at “Grapple in the Apple,” which was hosted by boxing promoter Don King. The two tennis rivals have met in the finals of the last two Grand Slam events.
“These years I have always had one person in front of me, better than me in everything,” said Nadal. “So when I look to Roger in front of me all the time, having better forehand, better backhand.”
“This is definitely one of the great, great rivalries I’ve been in,” said Federer. “And I mean he’s definitely been also the one who has been pushing me the hardest to improve as a player and stay ahead of him. But you know, he got me in the end, but obviously I’m going to try to get it back.”

It’s weird seeing them together now. I know they respect each other, but they’re not friends. NIke is just looking for publicity by bringing the two together.
Roger and Rafa are both class acts and great champions. They set a great example for athletes in all sports. I prefer Roger’s style of play but I love them both and am happy for Rafa’s success too.
Roger is the greatest tennis player ever!!!!!!!!!. I hope he can win the US Open. While they make a good rivalry, I still want Roger to be number “1″ for a long time.

Beat Nadal and win another US Open to make up for your Wimbledon and French Open losses. Nadal has had an amazing year, but hopefully Roger can come through in the end. As long as Djokovic doesn’t win, I’ll be happy.

they only stayed out for a good 20 mins. and answered 3 of us kids’ questions, after the first quote, from nadal people let out a slight, “awww”

OH EM GEE.. I was there for the event… I was really excited to see them..They answered a couple of questions from the group of kids that I played tennis with then they took pics for the photographers and then they left..Of course I was a little disappointed that I didn’t actually meet them ..but it was pretty darn cool to see them together in person with DON KING lol ..my favorite part of the event was the MASSIVE AMOUNT OF CANDY..I almost fainted when i saw it!
