Jesse McCartney has taken on T-Pain, covering the rapper’s hit song “Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin’)”.
“It’s got a nasty groove to it,” the 21-year-old pop singer said of the song. “It’s fun, so we’re going to put our own little spin on it.”
Jesse went into the “Pepsi Smash Exclusive Cover Art” studio and recorded T-Pain’s song. Watch the video below of Jesse singing it! You can also watch the original video here.

I think some people don’t get the point of the covers that yahoo/pepsi has been putting out.
They essentially get these people to choose a song they really enjoy and cover it. Such as Mandy Moore’s cover of Umbrella last year.
It isn’t Jesse trying to be black or deciding to change his style or anything. It’s just a song he likes that he wanted to attempt a cover of for fun.

Listened to it right after JMs version. And I must say——-Jesse´s version is way better.(and I don´t even like that boy!!)

actually not too bad..im liking both versions equally…each gives a different vibe.
First of he’s isn’t rapping, he’s singing. There’s a lot more talent when it comes to singing, anyone can rap.
Secondly, the back-up singers “look bored” because thats the style of this version, very laid back and chill and thats what they are.
Third, this is a great cover, Jessie can hold his own, granted the original is always better but I’d rather much seduce a woman with this version.

I finally got to see him in concert on August 16th and he sang this live for us! hahaha i had heard it a few times, but didn’t know it because they don’t play it on the stations in my area.
at the concert i was like, “hey i’ve heard this…but i dont remember it…crap…..hahaha thinkkkkk!”
