OlderKara DioGuardi: New American Idol Judge!
Kara DioGuardi has joined American Idol as a fourth judge!
The 37-year-old will sit alongside Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson and use her background as a songwriter/producer in the eighth season of American Idol (premieres January 2009 on FOX). Paula finally gets another female on the panel to pow-wow with!
Kara’s songs, “Cheetah Love” and “I’m the One” most recently appeared in the Disney Channel movie Cheetah Girls 3: One World.
“We are turning the heat up on ‘Idol’ this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller. “She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”

hmm. doesn’t make to much sense. What if two judges said yes and the other two said no…Not too even…Oh well..isn’t there a main judge decides if they make it no matter what the others say? I hope there is. Confusion.

kara completely ruins the banter and formula or idol. she is arrogant, snobbish, and portrays too much of an elite-better than attitude. Simon is different because he is likeable. she is one of those stuck up girls who wouldn’t give you the time of day.
GET RID OF HER!
I liked her on the first two shows, but she grows more aggressive with each appearance, especially with Simon. Randy, Paula, and somewhat Simon, have begun to slide into the background. While Simon is caustic he is usually right I find Kara’s tirades uncomfortable, too personal and they kill the moment , even the contestants appear bewildered. A fourth judge is okay, but she’s not the one.
Why did AI mess with success? I find Kara totally annoying. Makes me wonder if there is truth to the “casting couch” theory. I think the reason AI has been such a success is because Randy, Paula and Simon compliment each other and Kara has thrown a wrench into what has been working so well. I hope the producers wise up and get rid of Kara before their viewers get fed up and stop watching.

No, no, no! Kara’s comments are riddles. Most the time who knows, she just flip flops around then stares at Paula for her to comment. Get her OFF there NOW! She’s trying to play the role of Paula at times and be “political,” and a poor try at that. She can’t speak in complete sentences and runs on and on. It makes the show run even longer. Absurd. Wait, I take that back about Paula. Her comments are actually making more sense this season. Randy seems more critical, dog ,this season. And the one’s he compliments we need a translator for. Dope? Whatever. Now, Simon, other than passing through the bikini girl, I almost always agree with what he has to say. But this season, the writing is on the wall. AI is going down like the titanic. And the band played on.
