Keely Shaye Smith, the wife of 007 star Pierce Brosnan, takes her boogie board for a ride on the waves in Kauai, Hawaii on Sunday afternoon.
“I never shy away from colors or my curves,” Keeley has told Vogue. “I never hide in baggy clothing.’
Pierce, the 55-year-old former Bond actor whose latest role is in Mamma Mia!, was seen playing the ukulele on the beach. His and Keely’s sons, Dylan Thomas, 11, and Paris Beckett, 7, stayed in the shade as their mama went for a swim.

Anyway, I just wanna commend Keeley for her bravery as a plus size woman who is on the beach strutting her stuff!! As a size 4 myself, I can’t relate, but I know I wouldn’t be as brave as she is.

I cant remember where I read it but she has a metabolic disorder that made her gain the weight. Pierce’s first wife died from Ovarian cancer and he was with her until the end. He is a very devoted person!
Her weight is really her problem but what can be really seen from these pictures is confidence. She knows her picture is being taken and she is not hiding. She is boogie boarding and having fun.. enjoying life.

If you are overweight yourself you think that obesity is always something like a 300-pound woman. Wrong! Keely should try to get her body down to about 150 lbs to look ok and be what she described herself as curvy.

the realtiy , whether you like it or not, is that pierce brosnan -her husband- happens to think that she is beautiful exactly the way she is.
he has made it clear in many interviews that he loves his wife’s curves.

i live in new york and we say our share of celebrities out with their partners. you say keeley is “mean and nasty woman”; is that because she wasn’t nice to you personally. let me guess; you went up to pierce and keeley asking for a photograph with them or an autograph. and horror of horrors she brushed you off. maybe because you interfered with their privacy. i;ve seen it happen in central park, on 5th avenue, and on broadway with other celebrities.
and of course, if she displayed irriation with the idea of having their privacy invaded you could interpret that as contempt.
for the record i met both keeley and pierce in new york. they were both extremely gracious, polite and considerate. but then i didn’t rush over to them while they were eating dinner like some other people. i held back and left them alone. they actually thanked me for not bothering them over dinner.
to anonymous - I know that her husband loves her, I never said he didn’t. I don’t think I even mentioned him in my post! My point is that she could obviously be much healthier, do much better for herself , and be a much better role model for her kids. I don’t care who she is married to. If I saw any woman like this I’d think she has a very low self esteem because she isn’t taking care of herself. I’d wonder what size she was when she and her husband were married. The shame is that she was svelte and gorgeous when she and Pierce dated and when they married. He was no “chubby chaser”. I always feel sorry for men whose wives who change this dramatically. 10 pounds, 20 pounds, OK. But 50 or 60 pounds? Not fair. Actually I think she looks like she may have lost weight from earlier this year. I think keely looks great! In a world where people like nichole ritchie are considered good looking, its refreshing to see a beautiful curvacious woman like keely. My wife has gained weight through the years and I love her as much now as i ever did. I think thats whats going on with Pierce and keely, they have a great marriage. Keely also looks incredible when shes dressed up, Pierce is a very lucky man and I have a renewed respect for him for having such a good marriage to a truly beautiful woman.
She’s a size 14/16. Is she overweight? Yes. Just a bit over her recommended BMI for her height. Is she obese? No.
You aren’t attracted to her? I’m sure she’s devastated and will just have to console herself with cuddling up next to James Bond each night. And for those who chide her for her apparel: I’m sorry if your eyes are offended, but she’s showing no more flesh than a skinny person would, so I don’t understand what the uproar about indecency is about. Maybe we should just ship ugly and fat people off to a detention camp. Would that better suit your cookie cutter world? Personally, I find stupidity more offensive than a lack of aesthetic appeal.
Did anyone stop to think she might suffer from something like PCOS? I too used to be very slim but after having one child and losing seven other pregnancies my body has never bounced back. I am sure people think I am fat, yet I go to gym five days a week and eat really healthy. IT’s such a frustrating condition and I get way down on myself over it. I pity this woman with you all so quick to criticise, you don;t know what her medical issues are……

Pierce Brosnan’s first wife, Cassandra Harris, was actually a Bond girl before he was Bond, an established actress herself, and made him the man and actor he is. She was not only beautiful but loved by everyone for her spirit and kindness. She was 10 yrs older than he though you could not tell. Photos from her 20s show why she was in famed photographer Lord Lichfield’s book, ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Women”. Many photos of her available online show how beautiful she must have been inside and out to be dying of cancer in her late 30s while still looking beautiful and sparkling with charisma and personality. Together they parented Pierce’s first son Sean Brosnan in 1983 (incredibly handsome). And he adopted her first two children, Christopher (also incredibly handsome from my memory of him during his New York nightlife appearances) and Charlotte, from whom she had with ex-husband Dermot Harris, great actor Richard Harris’ brother, upon Dermot’s death. So tragic for those children to lose both their mother and father. Tragic for Sean to lose his mother as a young child. And so tragic for Pierce to lose the love of his life. Perhaps he would have never moved on had Keely not forced it all upon him. Calling Keely fat is not nice nor does it say anything about who she is. However, it is said by many her “flaws” on the outside are a true reflection of her inner character and spirit, for those that think fat is a flaw. The article:
Brosnan first met Keely Shaye-Smith, whom he sometimes absentmindedly refers to as Cassie, in Mexico in April 1994. Brosnan was sitting at the pool when she strode by. “When she walked back, she asked me for a few eco tips. Later on the beach, she was in a bathing costume – very lovely.”

Indeed, when Keely found out she was pregnant (the baby’s due in January), she and Pierce did intense soul-searching and came to two conclusions: no abortion, no marriage. “We talked about the matter long and hard, ” Brosnan says. “It was so unexpected – [I was] absolutely blown away. Abortion should be the woman’s right, but the thought of it just broke my heart – made me feel like an executioner. Besides, Keely wanted to have the baby.
Besides impending fatherhood, what holds him to Keely is her allowing him the illusion that he’s a single man. “She’s thirty-one, and I’ m forty-two,” Brosnan says. “I have a wider breadth of experience in life. I don’t mean to sound grand or better, but there’s that element of being older.”
