Brad Pitt Premieres “Burn After Reading”

Brad Pitt joins prankster pal George Clooney at the opening ceremony and Burn After Reading premiere during the 2008 Venice Film Festival at Sala Grande on Wednesday in Venice, Italy.

The 44-year-old father-of-six and the 47-year-old ladies man were accompanied by directors Joel and Ethan Coen and actresses Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton.

Last night, Brad and George partied into the wee hours after the black tie fundraiser for their Not On Our Watch charity. To read about their partying ways with some 20 fundraiser guests at the Cipriani’s poolside bar, visit People.com.

You can also check out one of the first reviews of the movie at Variety.com. Here’s a snippet: “Major star names might stoke some mild B.O. heat with older upscale viewers upon U.S. release Sept. 12, but no one should expect this reunion of George Clooney and Brad Pitt to remotely resemble an Ocean’s film commercially.”

Over exposed? When did the last time you’ve seen Pitt out and about? Been a while, right? I think you meant, X is the one over exposed.

After the dumping by JM, she shopped, shopped, shopped in LA and then fly to NY to walk, walk, walk on the sidewalk. And stalked, stalked, stalked JM. All of these pr shenanigans in a futile attempt to be seen as a strong woman, not the PATHETIC one. It failed….

eeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr…… lovin his goatee!!!!!!!bit.ch anjie sooooooo lucky.

Brad Pitt and George Clooney together? That’s the way I like it! I love that he’s getting some “me time” for a couple of days and hanging out with his best bud. All daddys and mommys need “me time.” I hope they make the most of it and are having a blast in Venice!

Thanks for the pictures. BP looks mighty fine in a tux. He gets better and better as the years go by. The teens can have ZacChase, Papa Pitt is the Man. I am looking forward to seeing Burn After Reading. It looks like a screwball comedy. Peace to all.

Brad is absolutely gorgeous.
There is not coincidence that Shiloh is considered the most beautiful baby in the world : ) And she really is : )

Man, haters and Aniston sympathizers are twisting themselves into pretzels in hate and jealousy just because Brad is being feted in Venice and their idol is what? Trying to get a date with whoever is willing to trade dignity for publicity or money. What a comedown.

Oh, and Angelina is perfectly secure in the knowledge that her man won’t stay a minute more after all his obligations for his movie are met. Same thing in Toronto. The ex may pretend he’s interested in seeing her but she knows he can’t get away from her fast enough. He’s made his choice and he’s not about to let a good thing go. Angie and the kids are his whole world now.

*****hello to everybody on board….tlol, anoble, vicki, irma, guli, briseis, besane, felinelilly, nelah, ariel and NL, etc.

I don’t understand the reviews… Are they good or bad?

*waves at VickieFromTexas and Guli*

As far as the rag mag report:
we have all lost count of how many “Angie and Brad split up” reports have come out in the last 4 and a half years.

In the same last four in a half years those rags have screamed “Brad still loves Jen”

Give me a break!

1. Angie had a fulfilling life before Brad. She doesn’t NEED to cling to him to feel good about herself. She is doing what she has said over and over she loves the most: being a mother…..she doesn’t feel threatened by JA, after all Brad “been there done that” and LEFT that!

2. Brad is doing what he has said over and over is the most important to him: raising his family….spending time with his kids! Sure he had a night out with the “grownups” what parent doesn’t?

3. Brad and Angie aren’t held together by looks.
They are together because of their commitment to each other, the same values and their commitment to the children.

Anyone who has been in a relationship will tell you that looks will only get you so far, what makes or breaks a relationship is whether or not you share the same beliefs values and dreams.

He obviously has this with Angelina.

They are good. But there’s no Oscar Buzz like NCFOM or Fargo. It’s just good solid reviews.

I’m tired of seeing the Pitt Seeing Aniston covers. Their consumers must be idiots if they don’t realize how many times tabloids recycle their stories.

Oh my, Access HW and OK are picking up People Mag’s mistake and is reporting Brad won again this year for BAR. Lol!!!

Fug face Sci Fi boy needs to go and show Sci Fi Man and Robotwife some love. Maybe if he spam Katie’s thread, it would look like she has some support. Old girl has been rocking the jeans for two weeks now. Go Katie.

I love Brad, I like him better now than ever, he finally looks like 44-year old man and a father of six - and in my opinion there is nothing as sexy as a devoted father!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You said it! The guy has substance!

piper, with a low @ 08/27/2008 at 5:21 pm

Holy jumpin’ catfish!!!

How can Brad win an award, given that the film isn’t in competition and it’s the premiere film of the festival?

People Mag… get some perspective! ;)

I know this have been posted but I have to say good for George! See I think Brad tries not to be rude and answer the questions because he knows if he don’t he will be skewered, but George can take it and not be phased as to whether or not they talk about him. Sounds like he kept the press junket in line with talking to everyone, not just Brad & Angelina. Even though I like hearing about the family I hope Brad & Angelina start doing this. Because the so-called paparazzi/media will sit there and ask personal questions through the whole press junket and not ask one thing about the movie. One or two questions are okay but noooo they have to take the whole show with it and total ignore the other actors/actresses that are there at the table.

When some reporters come face to face with A-list celebrities, their brains turn to mush.

Take this morning’s press conference at the Venice film festival. George Clooney and Brad Pitt were among the stars taking questions following the first screening of their latest movie “Burn After Reading”, directed by the Coen brothers.

Inevitably, the questions were personal as well as professional.

“I have a question, it’s very important,” said one male reporter from Brazil: “What do you think it’s (sic) better … to win an Oscar or to fall in love with a beautiful woman here in Venice?”

“Brad, don’t answer that,” Clooney said, trying to maintain a happy atmosphere despite the generally dire standard of questions.

Then came a female reporter from a Hong Kong TV channel: “I want to know how the twins are doing — are they looking more and more like you and Angie?” She was, of course, referring to Pitt’s newborn twins with Angelina Jolie.

Clooney again tried to come to the rescue: “The twins are fine.”

A British journalist enters the fray, asking Pitt: ”I’m just wondering whether you have plans for any more (children) and how many is enough?” and to Clooney: ”Any plans to settle down and have children yourself, if that’s not too personal a question?”

Clooney replied: “I am so surprised to hear that question. That is honestly the first time I’ve been asked that question. I am getting married and having children today. Brad?”

Pitt: ”And until then I’ll be sharing mine with him. I’ll have two more by next year.”

And finally, and it was really painful to watch, came a female reporter from Spain (and excuse the English):

“This is a question for Brad. Can I get closer? I am wearing like this because I want to sign up for your gym. What do I have to do to sign up for your gym like in the film, Brad? And if I sign up, would you be running after me? Both of you.”

Pitt: ”It’s a movie and I have no answer.”

Question: “If I sign up will you be running after me, George?”

Clooney: “I’m afraid, from the looks of it, we might be running from you.”

Hear, hear, George.

Film Review: Burn After Reading
Bottom Line: The Coen brothers are in a goofy mood as pure lunacy engulfs a spy thriller
By Kirk Honeycutt
Aug 27, 2008

George Clooney, left, and Frances McDormand in “Burn After Reading.”
Opens: Friday, Sept. 12 (Focus Features)

In “Burn After Reading,” the Coen brothers have taken some of cinema’s top and most expensive actors and chucked them into looney-tunes roles in a thriller set in and about Washington.

It takes a while to adjust to the rhythms and subversive humor of “Burn” because this is really an anti-spy thriller in which nothing is at stake, no one acts with intelligence and everything ends badly.

As a follow-up to last year’s multiple-Oscar winner “No Country for Old Men,” Joel and Ethan Coen clearly are in a prankish mood, knocking out a minor piece of silliness with all the trappings of an A-list studio movie. Those who relish this movie might treat this as the second coming of “The Big Lebowski”; those who don’t might wonder at a story in which no character has a level head. Signs look good, though, for a solid North American opening Sept. 12 following its opening-night debut at the Venice Film Festival.

NEW THREAD @ 08/27/2008 at 5:26 pm

NEW THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Access Hollywood and People Magazine need to hire new Interns or get some on-site reporters.. Too funny.

It is so annoying that all these rags continue to try and connect Brad and X. Everything Brad does is scrutinized and talked about. He leaves Angie to go to work and the headlines Brad leaves Angie for Venice. What the heck do they want? To break up Brad and Angies happy family. To give more sympathy headlines to X. Who as far as I am concerned really is a loser. No other X has milked their relationship with their more famous X as much as she has. I am sure Brad is probably regretting he ever married her in the first place. God Bless and protect the Jolie Pitts.

Absolutely gorgeous!

HOTNESS OVERLOAD.

There is no new thread.

andamentothat @ 08/27/2008 at 5:51 pm

People magazine is going the tab route.. printing without validating. Brad collected the trophy he won for Jesse James .. He hasnt won for BAR.

shoes4life @ 08/27/2008 at 5:52 pm

Jayla, it is all a ploy by the ragazines to create business to keep selling their lies until they become truth. Once it becomes truth then you got more ammunition to play with and keep the crap going. To me it is all a mental game on the celebrities it trashes and the fans who believe it. It really works when you have a celebrity that eventually buys into the lie and then reacts to the lies as if truth.

I think about Jessica & Nick’s marriage in this case. Since their show on MTV was popular the rags each week “Jessica is mad at Nick”, “Nick stormed out on Jessica”, “Is Joe Coming Between Them”, “Jessica Infidelity”, and “Nick cheating with a stripper”. They tried to refute it so much of it until the lies became their reality when one of the spouses of that relationship reacted, therfore creating a new line of gossip. I hate to say it but the same can be said for Brad’s first marriage and his present situation. The difference now with his new relationship is that he is with someone who do not thrive on reading what others think of her, Brad, their relationship or their family. There is no weak link anymore. I believe because of that they will sustain and if there is a breakdown in their relationship it will not be because of a tabloid rumor/lie that UsWeakly or OK magazine has reported .
