Kara DioGuardi’s New American Idol Family
Kara DioGuardi is introduced as the new American Idol judge at Chelsea Piers in New York City on Tuesday.
Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson welcomed the new judge with open arms, as they all walked the red carpet and posed for pictures.
“It’s like, you know, having dinner with three people for seven years, and getting quite bored of each other,” Cowell said. “So it’s having a fourth person, new opinion, I think it’s gonna be interesting.”
“Kara has a good reputation of A, having hits; and B, having an opinion. And that’s a good combination,” Cowell said. “And she’s cute.”

Having a fourth judge on the show is a horrible idea. They don’t need another one and the ratings will probably go down even more now. This is my favorite show and I am not going to watch it anymore. The judges and Ryan make the show and they made what the show is today. This is just going to ruin the chemistry between them now.
OHMYGOD. you guys. did you know that the producers really wanted 4 judges when American Idol was in its first season!
i think its a good idea. Simon’s right. It is getting kinda boring having 3 judges for the last 6 seasons.

haveing a forh judge just makes it harder for people o make it thru wat it to say yes to say no???and the 4th judge is annoying she thinks she famous after one day she said that people r going to notice her now nobodys going to notice her after one day haveing 7 seasons and then just adding some stranger is stupid

This 4th judge idea is horrible! I truly hope they decide to get rid of her. Perhaps once they see the ratings plummet, they’ll realize the big mistake they are making. I’m not excited about the new season at all!
Sucks to the new judge! I used to like this show, but now I’d rather watch reruns of Gilligans Island.

Cara is terrible. Ruins the show. If they HAD to have a new judge why didn’t they get one with some credibility and stature or at least the ability to put together a sentence. Her hard bitten attitude is abrasive to the audience; she’s a newcomer and acts like she’s God’s gift to the show. Fire her!
Can’t stand Kara as judge. She needs to stick with song writing/producing not being a judge. Cannot stand watching the show and how she wants to be just like “Simon”. 1 Simon is plenty. She is a ding dong! Don’t care for her on the show at all. Not watching anymore.

wow — All Kara does is copy off of what Randy says. She needs to get a mind of her own. I’m not happy with American Idol for adding this woman.
To me, Kara is the generic judge. I feel like her opinions don’t really count and I’d rather not hear from her. The judge portion of the show isn’t as fun as it used to be.
@SAM: i already stopped watching it…with Paula gone and now I hear Simon is leaving too, whats the point. Kara is boring. No personality and her speaking voice is annoying.
