Hilary Duff’s Dad Gets Jail Time
The father of Hilary Duff and older sister Haylie has been ordered to spend 10 days in jail for violating an injunction against selling assets without court approval.
Hil’s mother, Susan Duff, also wanted her ex, Bob, to contribute $25,000 to a birthday party and gift for the Duffster. A judge ruled that Bob has to pony up $12,500 for the bash. (This is all part of the ongoing two-and-a-half-year divorce battle the two have been going through.)
Susan also claims Hilary is “emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father” and deserves “to have some kind of recognition for a young life well-lived.”
Neither Hilary, whose 21st birthday is Sept. 28, nor Haylie were in court.

Selling property without approval when a divorce is pending is a serious legal snafu. What the man was trying to do is to minimize the share of his ex by slyly selling off what he has to share. Get it now. Many men get away with this kind of crap. Good for the judge that she was stern on this.

In france the parents are supposed to take care of their children with financial support until 28 (for studies).I don’t know about united states but must be something like that but come on, their children don’t need their financial support anymore since they support the mom!

the mom should get a work if she wants to buy her daughter a gift and have a personal trainer and an attorney for the divorce, not relying on her own daughter!!! the dad moved on and can’t even do what he wants with the money he earns for actually running a buisness! incredible

Hilary is not studying anymore and she is about to turn 21, this is insane!
I think that the mom is out of control. This is a woman that has lived in a fantasy world for the last 7 years of her life. Her husband funded everything for these ungrateful people and sent them to Hollywood any continued to work with the company he helped start which payed for them to get where they are in the first place. I think the girls need to look themselves in the mirror and see who is the real problem. Obviously all Hilliary’s mom is after is money, maybe she wants to fit in with Hollywood friends I don’t know but, either way you look at it it is disturbing to think she can get away with taking this to court for two and a half years and a judge will actually let her because of her daughter.
