Tim Gunn: Jennifer Aniston Looks Desperate
Project Runway fashion guru Tim Gunn ripped into Katie Holmes’ style and now he’s taking down Jennifer Aniston!
“Sometimes I think she has ‘desperate character’ written on her,” Tim told OK! at the Manhattan launch party for Tide and Downy Total Care. “The clothes we wear send a message. And I think that’s the message — I don’t think that’s her intention though.”
Aniston seems happy being man-free but apparently Tim doesn’t think so!

I expected more from Tim I thought he had a lot of class and lately his comments have been pretty harsh and off base. Desperate are people like Britney, Pamela or Gisele who poses basically naked. Jennifer has a very natural style and so does Angelina. If anything they both try to avoid clothes that will bring too much attention to themselves. They are both older now and dressing very age appropriate.

Who knew the interviewer was coming, it wasn’t like a surprise interview.
Who knew what they were gonna discuss.
Who knew people want to know how she’s faring.
And what does she do? She opens the door and bursts into tears…right on cue. My God! Mighty fine actress, she is.
What was she doing before the bell rang? Do you imagine she was sitting on her white couch, Norman at her feet, flipping through the channels and as soon as she heard the door bell, she jumped up, flexed her shoulders, maybe even stopped by the mirror to see if her make-up was just right, gave herself a little pep talk, “Okay girl, you can do this” and then opened the door? Well that’s what I imagine because that’s how calculated and contrived the whole thing came off.
Also keep in mind this interview didn’t happen hours or days after the announcement, it had happened MONTHS after. I’ll digress a little here, was watching 20/20 a few weeks ago, a woman whose 6yrs old daughter was kidnapped, after searching for days on end, the daughter’s body was found, she had been raped and strangled. About 4-5months after the incident, 20/20 wanted to see how the woman was doing and they went to her home, she opened the door with a smile, welcomed them in, offered them something to drink (they declined) and the interview began, throughout the 25 mins segment, this woman didn’t shed a tear. You could she was still hurting and who would have blamed her if she fell to floor screaming “why me? why me? why me?” but she didn’t…she held it together even when they played clips of her little girl saying mommy I love you, she held it together when they showed clips of her daughter already in a body bag being put in an ambulance. She held it together when she waved the interviewer goodbye and thanked them for coming.
My point, well except you are a dense Faniston, I’m sure you get it. The last thing you want to do is wear your broken heart on your sleeve….except of course you are not really heartbroken and you just want to play at being one. JA played the part, she played it so well that like her Rachel Green Character, she can’t get away from it. LMAO!

This is a trend…they are now in the press more negative and bashing articles towards her and her image is changing : She is NOW depicted by the majority of the press as a manipulative, insecure looser.
You know the power of the press to act as a magnifiying glass for the masses and distill a certain image. Now trying to change that image won’t be easy. People still come up with things that Angie did more than a decade so Aniston new image will be here for a long time !
Jen has only herself to blame and if you think that it is only a minor incident, you are delusional. It is a definitely another move aimed at putting the light on her ‘fraudulent’ innocent image. While Angie has been depicted for years as a witch, Aniston was depicted as the angel. The problem with that theory is that the exageration was negative for one and positive for the other…after a while recent acts weigh and shed a new light to the perceived truth. It put things in perspective and the passion dying wil put in equilibrium the feelings. The witch is not as witch as some were thinking, hence more positive feelings towards her and the angel is not as angelic as she portrayed herself, hence more blame to come towards Aniston in the near future !

On the original website, over 60% of people don’t even agree with his thoughts of her clothes (it goes up % down - earlier it was 80%), which by the way she looks amazing in! She is a great actress! I would be living my life to the fullest if I had her money. I would be traveling all over the world, enjoying making new friends all over the globe, volunteer to help others & contribute to causes close to my heart, and so much more!
I don’t understand her she doesn’t really travel other than to Hawaii or Cabo and any other travel is just because she has too, or do much of anything else. I would not be worried about trying to be a big “MOVIE SUPERSTAR” or who I am going to date/marry next. I would be thankful to God for what he has blessed me with and the opportunity to have been in a couple of movies and to have been associated with a TV show that ran for 10 years and I thankful for the residual income that very well could last me for the rest of my natural life.
I believe that is her problem is that she feels she has not done anything significant in HW as far as being known as a “great actress” and because of that attitude she never will. Maybe if she take focus off herself and do more for others maybe things will change for her. Over 20 years of therapy and she seems to be just as messed up or worse. I don’t know her but from her body language and how she interviews it shows a very insecure woman with issues that she still carries and somehow refuse or can’t let go of. The mean things said about Jolie are never started by JJ. He tends to start conversations about Jennifer Aniston in a very negative tone which leads his readers to respond in kind. He has nothing but praise and and and idiotic fascination for the Jolie-Pitts. I think part of the reason I don’t like the Jolie-Pitts is because of the way their fanatics on this column idolze them.

JA has nothing I want. She has money and big houses but an empty life. Her constant companions are 2 canines. She does not bother to travel the world or reach out to help anyone but herself. She does not give of herself. She seems frozen in time unable to adapt or change as all must do. Her life seems a blank slate with no animation.
I have more than enough money for my needs and give money and time to help those in need, I have 4 great sisters who are my best friends, I have a good man in my life, and we share a beautiful and wonderful daughter. I agree with you, it is Gunn’s profession to give opinions about how people should or should not dress up, or if a cloth that people wear can show their character.
But like any other profession, it can be wrong. Some people wear clothes according to their moods, their taste, trend, or even the power of their pockets. It doesn’t necessarily fit to the character.
Public figures many times have assistants. They receive help from make-up, stylist, public relation people, etc. The question is, is it really the real character of a public figure, or is it an image they want the public to see.
I may be part of those who do not agree with Mr. Gunn. He can say whatever he wants, it doesn’t change my opinion about Jennifer Aniston and her style. And to be honest, since long time I ignore any kind of critics from expert (about clothes). I have different opinions from them, and I can live with it. In my world, I don’t need them.
And as a Jen Fan, I would like to thank all non-Jen Fans who defend her. But if there is no Non Jen Fans who defends her, I would say, our love to her is big enough that can fill up the hole.

Who is this guy? Very few women in Hollywood can dress up the way Jennifer Aniston can. She can wear anything and look classy. Even Scarlett Johanssen can’t beat her. First, full disclosure. Years ago, a journalist from Vanity Fair called me. She was supposedly friends for 20 years with my then-chief of staff, and wanted to interview me. And having some brains in my head (I don’t trust this stuff), I asked my associate about her, and she said “Y’know, she’s been a friend of mine; I’ll vouch for her.” So, I said ‘OK, I’ll call her, feel it out, and then make a decision.’
I called her, and she gave me a line of lies (that I found out later were a line of lies) about how I was a cultural phenomenon and she wanted to study this sociologically, and understand the points of view about how they became popular (but they weren’t), and she gave me this whole line, and I thought “OK, I like the point of view; she’s supposedly friends with my chief-of-staff who has known her and says she’s a decent person,” and I agreed to do it.
Meanwhile, my editor at HarperCollins said “Don’t. Trust me on this. Don’t. Trust me on this. Don’t. Trust me on this. Don’t.” Turns out (I’m going to go back and forth in history a little bit), after the article was out, my editor, who was protecting her source who was a dear friend who worked at Vanity Fair, said “I couldn’t tell you because I promised” - don’t you hate those? — I couldn’t tell you, because I promised, but that Vanity Fair , according to my source (a male who works there, whose name I do not know, or I’d give it right now) said that they actually had a planning meeting to set me up and do a hatchet piece.
I’m telling you this because I want clarity that what I’m about to say is not vengeance. You’ve heard me say I love vengeance….I love it. Justice, vengeance - all one thing to me. I love it! And you’ve also heard how I want you to go get it, usually by being really nice (’cause that kills the bad guys) and being happy and successful.
That woman from Vanity Fair came for the first meeting with me and I knew I was in trouble, when I came in and sat down, and she took a look at my figure and disdainfully asked me if I was a size zero, while she was somewhere between fat and obese, and I was trying to get her an appropriate sandwich, but she wanted to eat something with a lot of mayonnaise - I knew there was a problem from that point on, to be honest with you. And I was right. It was just a nasty hatchet piece of people saying gossipy stupid things and it was really mean. The writer’s name is Leslie Bennetts. Really mean. But I found out way too late that that was Vanity Fair ’s plan - it was their little editorial meeting, according to my editor at HarperCollins who’s not there anymore and not related to this. But she didn’t tell me in time. She said, “Well, I warned you!” A little more information would have been more helpful.

Its funny that when she was with Brad, people said she was one of the most desireable women in the world and even though Angie was always pretty, she wasnt talked about nearly as much as Jen until she got Brad so Brad must have alot of power because whoever he is with is thought of as the most beautiful. I really think alot of girls were jealous of jen while she was on friends because she was the it-pretty-popular girl back then and as soon as she hit a little turbulance in life, people took that opportunity to bash her. She’s been divorced for years now. LET IT GO! its not her who cant let it go, its you guys! She never even talks about them! So what that she doesn’t have kids. Is that all women are good for is to get married and pop out babies? A family is a beautiful thing but I DONT think God almighty has the SAME life path for everyone and if she doesn’t have kids, maybe thats because God has a different plan for her. I knew nothing about the Pitt marriage and was sad for all concerned when I read about their breakup and subsequent divorce. Then l read her VF interview. Immediately after I finished reading the article I knew she had made a huge mistake. How did I know? I remember how much I whined about my dead marriage and my ex to my friends and strangers for God’s sake when my first husband dumped me.
My whining came back to bite me in the booty when I met people on the streets later. “How are you dear?” “Are you OK now?” I would run into people months after my divorce asking him those questions when I didn’t want to hear about my divorce anymore…arrgh.
I promised myself and twelve other people to go to counseling if I ever had that experience again.
Jennifer should not have given the interview until she was more together; She should not have enlisted Oprah to join her pity party.
I couldn’t believe she was following John Mayer around i.e. reality star Jessica Simpson, taking snaps and drooling over him. Then I saw pics of John cavorting in a pool with two girls. He is a young man after all and an entertainer. Puleeeze Jennifer. He had to embarrass you to make you leave him ALONE. He had to put you through another public dumping. I don’t blame him. Women know better than to be so desperate with any man. With no commitment Jennifer wastes her valuable time chasing him to all corners of the earth.
Jennifer needs therapy NOW. Who in their right mind would date this man and follow him around the world snapping his picture just like all the other women he dumped. He is a man for God’s sake. Have some pride woman.

Tim Gunn is a fashion expert, and it’s the most normal thing for him to make judgements on women’s outfits. Just because he gave a negative opinion doesn’t make him desperate. Say you don’t agree with him or just ignore him.

I read the VF article of ms aniston. it was obviously against brad pitt and angie. her friends did mentioned that brad was not really into having a family. but I have a US mag and people mag i think it was year 2002, brad did declare he wanted 7 little girls. and that article from that mag said brad is a wanna be dad which also inlude adam sandler. it also features jennifer aniston. It said in the magazine she was not ready for a chil because agents will not cast her for movies. For me i dont get that VF article.

Chances are, whoever pops in your head for this one is the right answer. Sometimes they are easy, but this one was just too fun to not share with you.
I always thought that one day these two female B list actresses (#1-tv and film equally; #2 primarily tv) with almost identical careers who are best friends would get married. Well, they still might actually, but for now they are on the outs. If I could cackle right now, I would. The two have been known to vacation with each other. However, when it came time to go this year, #1 thought she was going to have other plans, so #2 made plans with some other celebrities, because that’s what celebrities do. They vacation together. Well, when #1’s plans fell through she naturally thought she could tag along. Not so fast. Turns out #2, et al didn’t want #1 around and #2 didn’t hold back in telling her why. As in 30 minutes of telling off. Should have done that a really long time ago.
Since the Cox Arquettes are currently on vacation with the McGuires and the Borat clan, it’s obvious what this one is about.
