Aug. 28 (Bloomberg) — Brad Pitt, one of Hollywood’s most sought-after heroes, is knocked off his plinth in “Burn After Reading.”

The spy comedy, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, casts Pitt as a goofy personal trainer who blackmails a CIA agent with a disk carrying the agent’s memoirs. Too dumb to pull off the scam, he sparks senseless bloodshed on screen, and waves of laughter in the stalls.

Menacing Pitt

Whenever victory seems near, Chad swerves his hips and gleefully punches the air — looking nothing like the dignified Pitt of the glossies, father of Angelina Jolie’s just-born twins. He tries to scare Cox into paying, half-closing his eyes when the two meet, and pronouncing Cox’s name with menacing emphasis. Pitt is the movie’s funniest character.

Thanks for the new thread JJ. Angelina is certainly doing something right, Brad looks so wonderful and happy. Pax and Maddox also look very happy, happy children come from a happy home. I can’t wait to see more of Angelina, the twins, Shiloh and Zahara. This family can’t be anymore perfect.

Brad’s such a fab dad :) He’s awesome. And Angie’s an amazing mother. I think it’s wonderful that Brad went with only the boys, so that they could have some quality time just the three of them, while Angie stayed home so that Zee and Shi got some quality time alone with her (and the twins of course). They’re a fantastic team and wonderful parents.
And I love how they’ve always been there for their kids and supported them when it comes to all the paps. It really pays, because now the kids aren’t scared of the paps. They may not like them, but at least they’re not frightened. That’s great.
And Brad looks got and the boys are sooo cute!!! :)

This was a photo OP to the max. Look at the nanny following close behind carrying the boy’s back packs.

Look at how scared Maddonx appears to be biting a black shirt he’s holding in half the photos, then he wads it up and holds it over his ears.

Look at how Brad is holding the boy’s hands…BY THE WRIST! That shows he has some feeling of NONcaring for these boys. He would be holding their HANDS the whole time, NOT the wrist.

The children do look horrible, homeless even. They give asian kids a bad name dressing them and having thir hair look so disgusting. I can’t believe the Jolie-Pitts. Pax actually looked better when he was an orphan.

Brad and his sons are looking very continental. Very nice. He has a natural style that others try so hard to do. They really have style.

I can’t tell you how many boutiques I’ve been to this summer and saw cute halter tops and dresses in that tie dyed look that Angelina wore on the red carpet. I also saw chic women wearing those St. Tropez gladiator sandals that Angelina used to wear.

I guess in any urban area Brad’s look has been picked up by by the 20-30 somethings. I see them wearing this type of hat, t shirt, pants and some sort of messenger bag slung over their body. A very cool look in my opinion.

Does anyone know about Hurrican Gustav heading for New Orleans?

Yesterday Anderson Cooper said he was going to be live from New Orleans today. I mean I haven’t heard anything about about a hurricane hitting nola again.

In the large cone at the end of the trajectory places New Orleans in the path of thel Storm. However, they don’t know where it will hit exactly. At the very least New Orleans will get some of the effects of the Storm if not a direct hit.

As of 11:15 am eastern time the tropical storm has winds of 65 mp with a forward speed of 8 mph moving w-nw. It’s between Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

They’ll know more about the direction after it moves out into the Gulf. The Tropical Storm is expected to become a Hurricane.

It is always a treat to see Brad with his children. Maddox and Pax are cute with their effortless style like their father. They will grow up with their own unique cool. As Brad as their dad and Angie as their mom, they will be well grounded with humility with their travels and charity and most importantly they will always feel loved.
Brad did his work and went home with his sons ASAP. Family law, family first always in effect for Brad and Angie and maybe that is why their love and relationship is stronger than ever.

While perusing the Internet, we came across this bit of information: “Brad Pitt helped save a kid from nearly drowning yesterday in Venice.”

Obviously, we got excited—hero stories are the best! (Unless it’s about Tom Cruise, who seems to save people from various auto accidents every few years.)

Of course, we watched the accompanying video—only there was no drowning. There was some tripping on the edge of a dock, which could lead to drowning, we guess. And Brad did help the boy shake it off. But still…those tricksters at TMZ always get us.

It did make us think, though, about how Brad could blink and people would take it as a sign of world peace. He’s a powerful man, that one.

Diane Kruger isn’t up for a trophy at this year’s Venice film festival, but Wednesday she received a prize of a different sort.

“I just found out I’m going to do [Quentin] Tarantino’s next film with Brad Pitt,” Kruger told PEOPLE at the Valentino party in Venice Thursday. “I’m very excited. Quentin just called. I play a German movie star but I don’t want to give too much away.”

Kruger was in Venice sans boyfriend Joshua Jackson, who’s “working – he has a job, you know.” But, the actress added, “He comes in on Saturday so I’m excited for that, too.”

Kruger said she was “fashionably busy” at the film festival. Besides the Valentino premiere and party, where she sat next to the designer at the film’s screening, wearing a beige gown he picked out for her, she’s also attending a party Sunday for Jaeger Le Coutre, the Swiss watch company she promotes.

Why does it mean so much what other people think of Brad and Angelina? You don’t even know these people and you are spewing hate. What the heck is wrong in YOUR life that you have to go on like that? Breathe, relax, eat some fiber.

Maniston’s VF article only showed her as a manipulative lying b*tch scheming with her PR queen to ride the movie star’s coattails. She’s so stupid she doesn’t realize her own VF article contradicts her. She’s already said (via Courtney Cox) that Brad told her about HIS attraction to Angelina during their ‘unofficial’ separation where they were deciding if they were toast. This was way before the ‘official announcement’ in which they BOTH told the world that no 3rd parties or speculation in the tabloids was the cause of their marriage ending. They both signed their names to that official press release and theirs seemed to be the most amicable friendly split ever.

So what we know, from the thin lipped mouth of Aniston herself and her friends, is that she had long known about Brad’s stated attraction for AJ??

ROTFLMAO. Yeah, I saw this earlier and couldn’t stop laughing. Uh…I guess she doesn’t know that Alec Baldwin isn’t all that fond of her? He commented at the 2007 Golden Globes that X “was lucky Brad let her off the hook so easily…” after her year-long pity party. He clearly had nothing but disdain for X. Plus, he’s stated before that he’s very impressed by Angie - not just her acting, but her humanitarian work. I’d say that makes him Team Jolie-Pitt.

What will be interesting is to see how long it takes him to make X cry at rehearsals. If she’s expecting star treatment…she’s gonna be in for a shock. Go Alec!

Don’t be too mad at maniston fans for posting her heartache story here. By running the story over and over irrespective of the list of men Jen has been with, it shows her fans know Brad was and still is quite a catch for any woman, an absolute DIAMOND! Their idol was a loser to let him go. And the pain of loosing such a treasure must be unbearable especially as they watch Angie and the kids enjoying what could have been. Brad is gorgeous, filty rich and knows how to take care of a woman. Compared with all the jerks their idol has had in recent years seeing Brad with equally gorgeous Angie would drive anyone in their position insane. Coming here looking at the pictures of Brad and his family beats sitting in their empty cold rooms watching old boring episodes of friends.

TORONTO — Talk about cutting it close.

With tropical storm Gustav winding its way toward New Orleans, a Canadian reality TV shoot on Friday dramatically handed over a new storm-safe house to a grandmother left homeless by Katrina.

A spokesman for Toronto-based producer Make It Right Prods., which has partnered with Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation, said that the crew of Global Television’s “Make It Right: New Orleans,” was “under some pressure to get it done,” but able to complete and present the home under deceptively blue skies.

The TV show, set to air in the fall as a two-hour special on Global and as an extended six-hour series on HGTV, is hosted by Mike Holmes, star of a popular Canadian home renovation show.

Through the summer, TV cameras captured the building of an eco-friendly prototype home in New Orleans’ Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward. The home went to a 68-year-old grandmother who waited on her roof for eight hours as Katrina floodwaters collected around her house and swept her daughter to her death.

The new four-bedroom home was built to withstand New Orleans’ next 100-year hurricane.

Having Baldwin on one’s side isn’t necessarily a plus. Plus, Tina Fey is in charge - she admires Baldwin’s talents, but she’s not likely to stand for boorish behavior on his part. I have to assume that she was behind getting ___ to do the show, given that she was the head writer of SNL during ___’s appearences. Anyway, I don’t watch 30 Rock, which may be a mistake, since the show is funny, according to critics and fans, but ___ being on it doesn’t make me want to watch.

And is anyone else annoyed that ___ doesn’t make any sort of inroads, in terms of career, unless she’s countering bad press associated with her personal life? Yeah, that is so progressive… :roll:

Didn’t someone else mention this the other night? It’s from CrazyDaysAndNights.Net. It’s OBVIOUSLY Courteney & X. Beats the hell out of me why he bothered to make it a blind. In case people don’t remember the very same thing happened last fall when X was in Oregon making the movie she’s taking to TIFF. Supposedly CCA had said she’d TRY to bring Coco up for a visit while X was on location. She couldn’t make it and X got pissed it at for reneging on her almost-promise. So Courteney gave X an earful that the world didn’t revolve around her and that her own family came first. And word was that she put X on hold because she and DA were having marital problems, he was sick of playing second fiddle to X and holding her hand and DA gave CCA an ultimatum - X or him…and CCA chose her hubby…and X got pissed…and CCA gave her an earful…and even after X returned to LA she and CCA didn’t speak for a good month. At which point the Coquettes went to Meh-hi-co on vacay…and X went along…again…and we were treated to another Ass & Cooch Tour at the spa pool…while David Fincher & his buddy sat on loungers nearby…ignoring her antics…
