While perusing the Internet, we came across this bit of information: “Brad Pitt helped save a kid from nearly drowning yesterday in Venice.”

Obviously, we got excited—hero stories are the best! (Unless it’s about Tom Cruise, who seems to save people from various auto accidents every few years.)

Of course, we watched the accompanying video—only there was no drowning. There was some tripping on the edge of a dock, which could lead to drowning, we guess. And Brad did help the boy shake it off. But still…those tricksters at TMZ always get us.

It did make us think, though, about how Brad could blink and people would take it as a sign of world peace. He’s a powerful man, that one.

Not knowing this article beforehand it practically confirms what I have said all along.

She had this interview in September 2005 with Vanity Fair “sharing her shock and confusion over Pitt’s liaison with Angelina Jolie”.

Diane Kruger isn’t up for a trophy at this year’s Venice film festival, but Wednesday she received a prize of a different sort.

“I just found out I’m going to do [Quentin] Tarantino’s next film with Brad Pitt,” Kruger told PEOPLE at the Valentino party in Venice Thursday. “I’m very excited. Quentin just called. I play a German movie star but I don’t want to give too much away.”

Kruger was in Venice sans boyfriend Joshua Jackson, who’s “working – he has a job, you know.” But, the actress added, “He comes in on Saturday so I’m excited for that, too.”

Kruger said she was “fashionably busy” at the film festival. Besides the Valentino premiere and party, where she sat next to the designer at the film’s screening, wearing a beige gown he picked out for her, she’s also attending a party Sunday for Jaeger Le Coutre, the Swiss watch company she promotes.

Why? Because McCain picked a VP with a uterus?

It’s amazing to me how some are trying to position the Republicans as progressive when mere months ago, a large contingent was making cracks about the idea of a female president (Hilary) aging rapidly as a result of holding the office?

If Hilary supporters vote for McCain and Palin just because Palin is a woman, they’re chumps. She’s pro-life and anti-gay. And while some may be dazzled, right now, this could also turn into another Harriet Mieirs debacle. Or worse, Dan Quayle.
