Katie Holmes rocks out a bold floral Missoni top and her fave Chloe handbag as she arrives for rehearsals at the Minetta Theater in New York City on Friday morning.
Parade was recently asked, “Was Katie Holmes offered the chance to reprise her role as Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight.”
The mag responded, “Yes. She turned it down because she already was committed to Mad Money, with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. That comedy bombed at the box office, while The Dark Knight—with Maggie Gyllenhaal, 30, in Katie’s role—is one of the highest-grossing films ever. Katie, 29, won’t have another chance to play Rachel, since that character was killed off in the film.”

It’s very evident that the woman does not know how to comb her own hair and needs a stylist when she goes out on the town ’cause I don’t think she knows what to do when she picks up a comb or brush.

We all know the movies are in a different league, Mad Money had a budget of about $20million. I have no clue whether this story is true or not–I would like to think Tom has come to his senses. BUT Kristy. Scientology is a horrible horrible cult. People don’t believe that, but it is true. When someone tries to get out there are reprisals. I can only imagine if Tom tried to get out that it would be a mess. Have you ever noticed that Nicole Kidman says very little about Scientology? She knows better than to take them on. Yes Tom could go to the police, to the FBI to anyone, but it won’t stop the harassment, the reprisals, the threats. Scientology has infiltrated corporations, the highest levels of government aside from recruiting and turning folks into zealots for its cause. They have lobbied for their own selfish purposes and spent hundres of millions of dollars to get their way. Scientology should not be a tax exempt religion, but it is. Why–because this cult has leaned on its influential members to make it a religion, to make it tax exempt.
Google it. Read both the positive (which are almost always their own press releases or manufactured materials and situations) and the negative. Read about the folks that have died because they were denied medical aid. Read about the folks that were “shunned” when they left and not allowed to see their families or children again. Read about those that gave Scientology all their money and when they had no more they were dropped just like that. Read about what happens to folks who try to leave–the harassment, the threats, and sometimes even physical harm. Read about their founder–L.Ron Hubbard, a wife beater, a man who hated homosexuality and that included his gay son who either committed suicide or was murdered. L.Ron Hubbard is on record saying something to the effect that Scientology was developed just to make money…that hardly qualifies this cult as a tax-exempt religion.
So back to Victoria’s statements. If this is true that Tom is trying to leave–then he is going to have one hell of a time doing so. He will be threatened, harassed and maybe hurt in some way. Lawyers and law and police and FBI will make no difference.
However, I believe Tom is an egomaniac. Or a narcissist. It is always about him. It is hard for me to believe he would leave the cult since he is the number 2 person. He knows that he has fallen way down on the popularity polls in the eye of the film going public. So it is hard for me to believe he would want to get out of scientology and lose that adoration. His movies aren’t performing as well as they would have before his couch jumping, Matt Lauer bashing days. Brangelina is getting the adoration, publicity, and power he once had with Kidman. Although the paps still flock to him, the pictures aren’t selling as well as they once did (you only have to open a magazine or a blog to see that very few are posting stories and pics about Katie these days with the exception of Jared who posts on a daily basis). Scientology feeds his ego, so again, it is hard for me to believe he wants to leave.

The simplistic truth is that Cruise isn’t very bright, has no education, and because of his dyslexia hasn’t read much of anything. The poor guy only learns from what he hears. Stardom has isolated him from the real world.
Not reading books, magazines, the Internet, and newspapers plus isolation is the perfect person to drag into a cult. Cruise is also a narcissistic personality, and the cult has fed that personality flaw since his early twenties.
He will never leave the cult unless he becomes very close to someone who is logical, educated, and strong enough to get Tom’s attention.
Unfortunately, Nicole had the brains and education, but even that didn’t work. A huge machine is no match for one logical insider and she was the mother of his children. I think the problem for Nicole was that she only 22 and didn’t have the strength to buck her older famous husband at first. Remember she arrived in the USA at 20 with no family. Cruise scooped her up before she even knew about Scientology. If he would divorce over the cult, don’t see any hope for him leaving now. The videos show he is a fanatic.

Im not usually a huge fan but I think she looks phenomenal and youthful. Maggie and Katie may be polar opposites and have different styles of acting; both talented but Katie was more fitting in the blockbuster picture especially warranting the love of both powerful studs like Bale’s Bruce Wayne and Eckhart’s Dent. Katie offered more chemistry with the actors and you buy her as the girl next door.
Maggie failed that.
I respect all faiths and religions even atheism as much of a struggle for me. Im more scared seeing a few here of those that moan and mock other beliefs and calling their own faith “the only way”. Some that behave that way and live life so twisted give their family upbringing and own religion a fanatical bad name.

Tommy Boy tried to get out a while back. Even without being the brightest bulb in the box, he was starting to have doubts, to the point of freaking out. They brought him in for some emergency intensive “counseling” that lasted for several weeks. When it was over, he was the guy we see today–an outspoken proselytizer for Scientology with all the angry passion of a religious zealot.

In my humble opinion, I think he married KatE thinking he would become even more popular than he was (although the couch jumping/ lauer bashing set him back and he has never been able to recover). Personally, again my opinion–just like you have yours–I think he is jealous over the attention Brangelina gets. It is so much more than he and Katie get these days.

Whether you want to admit it or not TomKat has lost popularity with fans and previous supporters. I bet if Angelina Jolie was in the play–it would be sold out. I bet if Nicole Kidman was in the play, the ticket sales would be brisker. However, KatE is in the play and the sales are dismal. I also think if she wasn’t in the play the sales would be better. I think the prevailing dislike of TomKat has hindered ticket sales. Plus it is not a good vehicle for her to start her Broadway career with.
AGain, Jefferson, my humble opinion as someone who has seen over 100 broadway plays and that includes plays with Lithgow, Weist and Patrick in them. Tom made a huge mistake when he hired his sister so he could be more in control , as his publicist and let Pat Kingsley go. He may never recover. Too bad Tommy boy.

Soon after Batman Begins was released-many people thought Katie Holmes was so bad in the role that there was a lot of complaining about her. The director decided to not ask her back for the sequel because she really was bad in the role. It was a brilliant movie with katie as the weak link. Eventually, when they got the scripts and things ready for the sequel, the director felt pressured to ask her back. They didn’t want to ask her back but eventually did. If you look back in time you can still find the articles that state they were not going to ask her back. Why didn’t she reprise the role-tommy didn’t want her to. It had nothing to do with her already being in Mad Money. Maggie G is a way better actress than Katie but she wasn’t the right actress for the role either. I don’t know who would have been but Maggie is so homely that she didn’t do the role justice either. Her acting is great but she isn’t very nice looking. Katie is ok looking, not great but her acting in BB was terrible. What a mistake for Katie to pass up the DK role. Who cares if the character dies. To say you were in one of the highest grossing movies of all time-pretty stupid to pass it up especially when you knew they were making a sequel and you could have been on the screen with Heath and my favorite actor-Morgan Freeman.

Therein lies the problem, Jefferson Truman Clinton. You admit you have no actual knowledge, but are basing your entire claim of defense on simply what you’ve heard. Yet you confront all those who might engage in supposed “rumor mongering”? Thine enemy is thyself, my friend. (See I can quote scripture too.)
You choose to believe only the glowing positive things you have heard from the press and reject all else. That’s nice. Good for you. Not a realistic way to live one’s life, but whatever works.

The TRUTH is she was NOT asked back to to TDK. Chris Nolan being the gentleman he is allowed her to say she turned it down. After the Batman Begins debacle where she did no press and then showed up at the premier with Tommygirl on his motorcycle, which he pulled right up to the batmobile ‘aka’Tumbler’, and then Tommygirl walked the red carpet as if it was HIS movie. He was shamelessly trying to draw attention to War of The Worlds. Even Spielberg was embarrassed. Add that to the fact that All batman and comic fans immediately felt that Batman Begins was perfect, except for Katie Holmes. She was the only weak point of the film. There was also the matter of no chemistry between her and Bale.
So, no, she was not asked back. And yes, she killed her career when she hooked up with crazy Tom.
