#45…Vic…thanks for calling me up on this. I agree with so many posters in here that despise scientology to the point that they come in to inform and educate the truth about the cult that it is.
I feel, personally, (deep breath, Clinton) that only a complete fool, void of intelligence at all, would be a part of something so ridiculous. Have you read what scientology teaches? Really read on it? What do you think, gal?
Regarding Tom leaving? That makes me laugh. Many have been watching that fool for a long time so I may not believe it if he held a press conference and denied anymore association with the group. He could come out,(of the closet, ha!) wearing a cross around his neck and carrying a KJV of the Bible, and I’d be doubtful it were true. He’s too far gone, too stupid.
And I question the validity of the ex-cult member claiming such. If in fact, she were truly running off at the mouth, they’d silence her. They have “silenced” other people and they’ll continue to strong arm as much as they can. Changing her name but still claiming her scientology status would be the first sense that she’s not telling the truth, or it’s gossip.

Just one more thing to #62. I’m certain (so, so certain) the FBI is very, very aware. $cientology has “church” status. That makes it different, but only in the way it’s dealt with. There are many alien-huggers out there and their feelings (ACLU) have to be considered. Believe me, it’s being monitored, and the cult has noticed a “tightening around it’s throat”. They believe they can’t be touched. They will be touched, but it won’t be tomorrow.

I respect all faiths and religions even atheism as much of a struggle for me. Im more scared seeing a few here of those that moan and mock other beliefs and calling their own faith “the only way”. Some that behave that way and live life so twisted give their family upbringing and own religion a fanatical bad name.

I wish your story were true. But I do not think Tom would walk away from that cult. I have been reading up on it for the past three months and have read some crazy stuff.
I believe that his ego is playing a role in his participation.
I truly fear for Katie, Suri and his other children, although the older ones do seem to be well indoctrinated.
If there was some truth to it GREAT! He should put his family first.

Tommy Boy tried to get out a while back. Even without being the brightest bulb in the box, he was starting to have doubts, to the point of freaking out. They brought him in for some emergency intensive “counseling” that lasted for several weeks. When it was over, he was the guy we see today–an outspoken proselytizer for Scientology with all the angry passion of a religious zealot.

And here you probably thought only poor Kate was brainwashed. Who knew they were a matching set!

I don’t need anyone to believe TomKat is perfect. I’ll only try to stop the vicious rumor mongering going around here. Hate their acting, their fashion sense or any other such triviality but I can’t stand insults against their daughter or lies about them.

I don’t personally know that about Cruise for sure but I’m basing my claim on the reputation as a nice guy he has in Hollywood. You have NOTHING to back up your negative claims except for an out-of-character outburst three years ago that he’s since apologized for.

I was saying that the kids likely stay in LA because they WANT to stay in LA rather than Cruise not wanting them to spend time with their mother, (And if Cruise really did forget about his older kids when Suri Cruise came along as rumors suggest, wouldn’t he WANT to dump them on his old wife?)

AND you say he isn’t a control freak. He shortens Nicole’s name to Nic. Katie’s name to KatE. Penelope Cruz’s to Pen. Now to me those few little examples show someone who wants to control. Brad Pitt gets slammed for being a wuss because he walks behind Jolie most of the time. Most likely he was taught to let the woman go first-good manners. Tom, on the other hand, drags KatE all over the place. It appears to me he is trying to make her into Nicole. Nicole had a natural grace and presence with fashion, KatE does not. Nicole has big screen talent (erratic tho it may be at times), KatE does not. In my humble opinion, I think he married KatE thinking he would become even more popular than he was (although the couch jumping/ lauer bashing set him back and he has never been able to recover). Personally, again my opinion–just like you have yours–I think he is jealous over the attention Brangelina gets. It is so much more than he and Katie get these days.
Again, Jefferson, just my opinion. And in terms of popularity, he has fallen off the charts in many of the polls. He is one of the lowest rated stars in the USA today weekly/monthly/yearly poll. Again, Jefferson, in my opinion he is desperate to grab the spotlight and be Number 1 again.
Oh yes, control. Paula Wagner left UA and he acts all innocent about it and comes out with the statement: “I don’t run United Artists; I just own it.” Ego anyone? Putting the blame on her leaving on someone else?
Whether you want to admit it or not TomKat has lost popularity with fans and previous supporters. I bet if Angelina Jolie was in the play–it would be sold out. I bet if Nicole Kidman was in the play, the ticket sales would be brisker. However, KatE is in the play and the sales are dismal. I also think if she wasn’t in the play the sales would be better. I think the prevailing dislike of TomKat has hindered ticket sales. Plus it is not a good vehicle for her to start her Broadway career with.
AGain, Jefferson, my humble opinion as someone who has seen over 100 broadway plays and that includes plays with Lithgow, Weist and Patrick in them. Tom made a huge mistake when he hired his sister so he could be more in control , as his publicist and let Pat Kingsley go. He may never recover. Too bad Tommy boy.

Hysterical, pr person!

Soon after Batman Begins was released-many people thought Katie Holmes was so bad in the role that there was a lot of complaining about her. The director decided to not ask her back for the sequel because she really was bad in the role. It was a brilliant movie with katie as the weak link. Eventually, when they got the scripts and things ready for the sequel, the director felt pressured to ask her back. They didn’t want to ask her back but eventually did. If you look back in time you can still find the articles that state they were not going to ask her back. Why didn’t she reprise the role-tommy didn’t want her to. It had nothing to do with her already being in Mad Money. Maggie G is a way better actress than Katie but she wasn’t the right actress for the role either. I don’t know who would have been but Maggie is so homely that she didn’t do the role justice either. Her acting is great but she isn’t very nice looking. Katie is ok looking, not great but her acting in BB was terrible. What a mistake for Katie to pass up the DK role. Who cares if the character dies. To say you were in one of the highest grossing movies of all time-pretty stupid to pass it up especially when you knew they were making a sequel and you could have been on the screen with Heath and my favorite actor-Morgan Freeman.
