Reese Witherspoon gets shocked by the Brazilian flag as she promotes ‘Speak Out Against Domestic Violence,’ a joint campaign launched in 2004 by the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the Avon cosmetics company in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Thursday.
The 32-year-old actress commented, “There isn’t a woman in the world that doesn’t have a friend or a partner who’s actually experiencing some sort of violence against them, so I think although domestic violence hasn’t happened to me personally, I certainly know women who are dealing with this struggle every day.”
Reese continued on by saying that domestic violence, “affects women who are famous, who are not famous, women who have money, women who have no money. This is an issue that crosses all boundaries and it certainly affects everyone.”

Do you really think she flew clear to Brazil to get that box? I suspect the box was delivered to her in LA. She flies around like a crazed mosquito, but most of the time it is so she can bite Jake and suck some of his delectable blood, not just get a green box.
I am very proud to be a supporter of Avon Foundation’s Speak Out Against Domestic Violence campaign. I am an Avon representative and a domestic abuse survivor, as well. I am glad that Reese Witherspoon is helping to draw attention to the domestic violence problem. The women and children victims of domestic abuse need all the support they can get.
To those who criticize Reese, please do tell… what are you doing for your community or the world at large to help bring an end to domestic violence?
By the way, The Speak Out Against Domestic Violence Need for Speed Relay on June 8, 2008 raised $224,000 for the charity. Bigtime kudo’s to Reese and the Avon Foundation’s Speak Out Against Domestic Violence campaign!

She’s being paid $30 million to do charity work, and not out of the goodness of her heart. Why does she need all that money ON TOP of the endless millions she gets off her “acting”..

Well now no. 29 most people have a 9-5 job, possibly kids, trying to pay the mortgage and yes the idea of getting off their butts to do something SOUNDS ideal but for some it’s not a reality. Whereas people who work 3 months out of the year have plenty of free time to fly around the world spreading good will/helping. I guess Avon donates a small portion of what people buy to their causes.

1. She is paid to represent Avon. It may involve good works, but she doesn’t do it for free.
2. She is certainly not dumb. Any woman who can get herself 20 million per movie and a rich contract with Avon is NOT dumb.
3. She dresses well when she wants to. She doesn’t always want to.
4. She gets made up for public appearances; that is what Hollyweird is all about. Get used to it. If she didn’t you’d call her a hag.
5. There is nothing wrong with liking to make money. Do you find the obscene salaries paid sports figures disgusting? She gets less than the big sports figures.
