OlderBristol Palin is Pregnant!
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced that her 17-year-old daughter Bristol Palin is five months pregnant and is going to marry the father.
Sarah and husband Todd Palin released this statement via the John McCain campaign:
“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.”
“Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”
Reuters news service, which first reported the news, says this news is “intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for [Bristol].” Trig was born this past April with Down Syndrome.

The Republicans are really great in seizing attention! Now nobody talks about Obama. Nobody is interested in him anymore.
Suddenly the whole of America and the whole world are so much interested in Sarah Palin.

She deserves to be the ROCK STAR of this election. She is soooo fascinating … interesting story. But of course she is also a BEAUTY. People will be interested in her. She has THE REAL STAR QUALITY.
Without any iota of doubt, Sarah energizes McCain’s campaign … who knows they might even WIN.
BTW, will she be in the next cover of People Mag? I am eager to buy a copy.

SO…Is this family considered to be “Classless, white trash”? If I remember correctly Jamie Lynn Spears, Lynne Spears, and their whole family was villifeid because Jamie got pregnant. Lynne became this terrible mother…..What happened to that whole view. It was all over the news, internet, magazines……… SO…… where are these comments for this family? Please dont say they dont compare!!……
I wish I had time to read all the posts on this thread tonight - but not possible if I want to get any sleep! I find this whole discussion bizarely fascinating!
What disturbs me most are the people (from both sides) who blindly intend to vote without really analysing the policies as a whole, instead basing thier decision on one factor alone.
For example, I don’t understand why being pro-life is enough to make someone blindly vote for a party that has so many other policies that are questionable. It’s as if thinking is too hard, so they latch on to one thing they feel comfortable with & blindly ignore the rest!
Also, choosing potential leaders of a huge democracy, that can help shape the rest of the world for either good or bad, should not rest on their ‘rock star quality’ or ‘beauty’! If that’s what you base it on, then Lord help us all!
One thing I found extremely interesting - this press release being in response to the accusations of ‘liberal bloggers’. The staffers of both parties are probably trawling here (& other blogs like it) right now, busily assessing public reaction to this any many other issues!
At least we won’t get thrown in gaol like in China, no matter how loony some of the opinions expressed here! And isn’t freedom of speech just one of the many reasons you should be careful to vote wisely & maintain a ‘thinking’ democarcy?

I am an independent voter. As I read these comment I just have to say that I sympathize with the Palin family…what I am concerned with is whether or not I feel that Sarah Palin is ready to be a hearbeat away from running the country. Being a soccer (futbol) coach - I appreciate soccer moms - but I can hardly believe that there wasn’t a more qualified woman in the Republican party for the VP slot.
I have yet to make my decision, but if this is the judgment that McCain will be using - he is pushing many indies away…

Sarah Palin, however, has made MANY rotten choices thus far and has failed to give her daughter some badly needed guidance. She gave birth at a time in a woman’s life when the possibility of complications rises markedly. And evidently, she and Bristol must not communicate too well.
Palin’s a power-hungry narcissist who has spread herself too thin.

A vote for Palin will be a vote for your daughters to think that its ok to get pregnant at a unmarried and young age!!!!! I was a McCain voter, but now I will definitely support Obama. Maybe Palin should spend more time raising her four kids (especially the last that needs lots of attention with down syndrome) instead of trying to run the Country. Family First! Family First! Family First! Family First!
What I am sick of is seeing Bristol holding Trig all the time. Todd should be holding him when Sara is speaking. They are just trying to make Bristol look older and seem maternal to try to okay the fact that she is pregnant and only 17years old. “Oh look at her, isn’t that cute, she will make such a good mama”. Give me a break! Hold your own dang baby and quit trying to make this look respectable! It’s not!
Bristol Palin is actually about 15-20 lbs overweight. I had wondered where this was coming from…now i know.
Sarah Palin wants to be Vice President so she decides sacrifices need to be made … too bad the only one sacrificing is Bristol. Look at her face … my heart breaks for her.
