Natalie Portman Spends Day and Eve-ning in Venice
Natalie Portman keeps it cute and casual in jeans and a T-shirt at the screening of her new short film, Eve, at the 2008 Venice Film Festival on Monday in Venice, Italy.
Eve marks the directorial debut for Nat. Both Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara are featured in the film. The movie is about a young woman named Kate, who visits her grandma Lola for dinner, and is surprised to find her grandma is on a date with a man named Joe. Filming took place in the Leith and Portobello sections of Scotland.

#16 is a psuedo intellectual who saw a chance to jump on his/her sopabox when a story was written about an Israeli-American. Which is a greater example of prejudice than anything you can accuse Portman of. Portman is friends with and works for Palestinians. She’s also close friends with pro-Palestinian, former Rabin-supportors like Amos Gitai and Suan Sarandon, who is known for being very critical os the Israeli goverment. Portman, when doing the college curcuit, spent a time talking at Columbia about torture and is known to have spoken extensively about cases of it in Israel. Portman has spent years doing humanitarian work in that region (such as providing finacial assitance to a hospital that was set up specifically to care for both Palestinian and Israeli victims of the war), and other Muslim/Arab countries such as Morocco.
Portman looks cute. I think it’s great that Eve has been praised so much.
