Lindsay Lohan just blogged about the pregnancy of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter Bristol. Here’s what she wrote in her political blog entry:
“I’ve been watching the news all morning, like everyone else - and I keep hearing about the issues related to ‘teen pregnancy’- It’s all related to Sarah Palin and her 17-year-old unmarried pregnant daughter. Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place. Its distracting from the real issues, the real everyday problems that this country experiences.
“I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter’s pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them-if elected. I get Sarah Palin’s views against abortion, but i would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what. Maybe focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like Joe Biden.”
Lindsay also quoted Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, who was born to an 18-year-old mother. He said, “Let me be as clear as possible. I think people’s families are off-limits, and people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president. [Reporters should] back off these kinds of stories. How a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be the topic of our politics, and I hope that anybody who is supporting me understands that’s off-limits.”
LiLo then finished off her blog post with a bit of parental advice, urging moms and dads to talk to their kids about sex. She said, “I heard a woman say on Today on NBC that teens are feeling as if they have to grow up faster. Really? Because, I think that girls that are CHOOSING to be sexually active and are making a conscious decision to grow up faster….. I think that parents need to recognize how important it is to talk to their children about the things that can result from being sexually active if they aren’t protecting themselves (birth control, condoms, etc.)”

What does she mean when she says that she “gets” Palin’s stance on abortion, that she understands or that she agrees??! What amazes me is that none of you talking about Lindsay are able to see how hypocritical you’re being. It’s not ok for her to have an opinion, but it’s ok for all of you to have an opinion? How exactly does that work?
This is America, and it’s called freedom of speech. Nobody forced you to read what she wrote, or comment about it. She has every right to voice her opinion, regardless of whether she’s had trouble in her past or not. Who ends up in the White House affects each and every one of us, whether we’re Americans or foreigners. If any of you have a problem understanding that, get off the internet and read up on foreign relations.
Why is it that the stupidest ones are always wanting to spout off at the mouth? Lohan has a valid point. Palin could have chosen a better arena to voice her side of the Trig story; there was no need to present a speech about it. On top of that, she gives her story to tabloids instead of talking to a reputable media outlet. She’s ******** up on both accounts.
Palin needs to get her own house in order before she tries to contribute to a nation. Palin is trying to push abstinence, and she has a pregnant 17 year old. There is a severe disconnect going on in that household, and if she can’t communicate with her own child, how is she going to communicate with a nation? If she doesn’t know what her own child is doing, how is she going to keep tabs on America and our interactions with other countries?
And we’ve once again seen how rash McCain can be. He chose Palin for the female vote. That’s obvious. And pathetic. He’s the type of man that will land us in the middle of another war if he ends up in the office. And despite what you may think, its Republicans that constantly raise the taxes, not Democrats, but the Republicans give tax credits to the rich while Democrats want to help out the middle and lower classes. At least Obama wants to bring jobs back to America and limit outsourcing, as well as finding alternative fuel/energy options. Sure, he may be lacking in experience, but look at all the people that have had “experience” and look at the state that our country is in right now. In my eyes, all the experience in the world has not stopped our economy from taking a hit, it has not stopped our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, daughters, sons, and friends from dying in a unnecessary war, it has not stopped the loss of jobs from outsourcing, it has not help Katrina victims…..It would seem that the lack of experience may actually count in Obama’s favor, as he’ll be a lot more option to suggestions and a lot more creative in regards to finding solutions to the numerous problems that “experienced” people have caused us.
Some of you really need to wake up and point fingers at the right people, because Lindsay Lohan hasn’t done anything to any of you. I highly doubt that any of you are candidates for sainthood, so shut up.

What the heck are you talking about?!?! Where have you been? Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins — decades together, four kids, no marriage. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell — decades together, blended family plus ones together, no marriage.
It’s not immoral (by the way, learn the word before preaching, it’s not “unmoral”) to be in a loving relationship raising a family. Look at Lindsay’s parents, married 20-some years and so dysfunctional she has to cut them off to stay healthy.
I like hearing Lindsay find her way and make some good points. She is the PERFECT person to be talking about parents having a better relationship with kids, and the media staying out of that relationship. People saying she shouldn’t say anything are idiots who don’t want to listen to anything but their own viewpoint.

I think she is trying sound like she has opinions. Domestic policy is important, too. I also think McCain’s choice reflects very poor decision making on his part. Palin does not walk the pro life and abstinence talk. Does Lindsay Lohan understand that American women could very well lose the right to choose whether or not they have an abortion?
