Sarah Palin: Babies, Lies & Scandal
John McCain’s vice presidential running mate, Sarah Palin, takes this week’s cover of Us Weekly, along with newborn Trig, afflicted with Down syndrome. The mag talks about her firm stance on antiabortion (even in cases of rape) and her opposition to sex-education classes (she believes in abstinence instruction for teens).
Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor, recently spoke about the vetting of Palin with CNN. He sang praises of Palin, saying, “She’s got the domestic experience, and she’s got the judgment. And she’s got what John McCain, I know, finds very attractive, which is a real independent spirit and a person who can produce results.”
“Barack Obama is not ready. Barack Obama’s never run a city, never run a state, never run an agency, never run a business, never made a payroll, has never really negotiated, which is why he makes so many mistakes on how to negotiate. You know, negotiate without preconditions, that’s absurd.
“Based on what I know, she was thoroughly vetted. I think John knew her, knew what she accomplished in Alaska, a lot of it has been an open book. I think the issues that are coming out now, all the ones that I have heard so far, are ones that he knew in advance, talked to her about it on Friday. And, he has confidence — this is after all the main criteria of getting selected as vice president, the presidential candidate has to have confidence that you’ve got what he needs to accomplish the job.”

Go McCain and your ever popular pick - Sarah Palin….
Hey at least she’s got people talking…..more than I can say about Joe Biden….
Horible choice. I want a woman VP, a competent one.
Got people talking about crap!
Yeah it makes me nervous to have someone (Obama) as president who’s only been in his office for less than 200 days before he ran for president.
That being said, I don’t agree with a lot of Palin’s views.
I cant wait until everyone takes a look at this very shocking article.
I am not even going to go in detail about why this woman should NOT be our next VP (because there are so many reasons) but the main one is, she is simply not the right choice for our country.
Palin is okay with pimping out her Down Syndrome son in order to get votes, but wants us to NOT talk about her underage drinking and pregnant 17 year old…yeah right!! Giulianni should shut the hell up, he is a republican that uses the tragedy of 9/11 to promote his career and is a frigging cheater and homewrecker!!! No wonder his family hates him!!
#4 Nicole…..President Clinton, Lincoln and others had the same experience as Obama and did a terrific job as president…do not listen to the silly remarks of the republicans that is just their way of trying to get votes!!!!
i think shes unstable.
i’d rather hilary as a vp.
wtf?!?!?! she doesnt believe in teaching sex ed..?? no wonder her ****** daughter got pregant!
People need to realize that when McCain kicks the bucket (and he will if he gets elected cuz he is sooo old) this is the person that steps into be President. To me thats unacceptable.
Hey Caring - If Palin posed with her baby and it was not a Down’s Syndrome baby, would you call that pimping?
Palin issued the statement about her daughter, the media went nuts and Obama had the political savvy to say that kids are off limits, which I give him credit for.
I bet Palin doesn’t give a rat’s **** if you talk about them or not. She’s a tough lady, a reformer and has fought power brokers in Alaska….you really think she cares what a handful of people write on a blog that literally n.o. o.n.e. sees?
Palin is a maverick, and will help McCain win the next election. Just watch!
anyone who wants this woman to be VP(or basically president so that old mccain is gunna drop dead any minute) is effed up. Her views on virtually everything in life are ridiculous!!!
also. she doesnt believe in sex ed???? are you kidding me? Im surprised her daughter didnt get pregant sooner!
Instead of picking the best person to be his VP (and possible president) he picks someone in order to get votes from females. This insults my intelligence. Does he really think the women of this country are that stupid.
Hey Steph - You’d rather see Hillary as VP?
Doesn’t that make you question Obama’s choices? He could have locked the election with her, but muddied his chances with old establishment Joe Biden….makes you wonder.
If this woman thinks she will be telling american women if they can or cannot have an abortion even if they were impregnanted from rape or if the pregnancy will kill them she has another guess coming!!! This ass wants to stop ALL abortions, what women do with their bodies should be their business NOT hers!!!
There is nothing that shows me this woman is ready to run the country. If she can’t inspire her own daugther to practice abstenice and not drink how is she going to inspire a country to follow her. It would be one thing if her daughter is off in college on her own but she is not. She is still living under her roof.
I totally agree! What an embarrassment! She’s laughing stock all over the net and late night jokes!!! Just imagine the debate between her and Joe Biden! She will be exposed to the nation what an inexperienced idiot she is! McCain has made a terrible decision of selecting her. It’s Obama in November, baby!!!!!!
The reason Obama didn’t pick Hiliary as VP was because he was making a smart choice and not just playing to the voters like McCain. Biden has the experience that Obama needs in foreign policy matters.
Worse VP pick since Dan Quayle.
Why do they portray the Obamas as the all-American family when most of the people I know are more like hers?
Funny how celeb teen pregnancies and the ones glorified on TV are “cute” or “”inspiring,” but certain political children in the same condition are a “scandal.” I don’t remember too much being made about Al Gore, Jr.’s DWI or drug arrests - especially after his dad reminded the press it was a family matter. Sheesh. Stick to the Governor’s hair and makeup. Its the type of journalism you’re best at.
Yeah it makes me nervous to have someone (Obama) as president who’s only been in his office for less than 200 days before he ran for president.
That being said, I don’t agree with a lot of Palin’s views.

You ARE A LIAR.Obama has been a US senator for over four years, and before that he was a state senator for 8 years.
Palin hasnt run a city either…. unless you call a place of 5,000 a “city” which is out in the middle of no where.
We’re not talking Houston or even Seattle here.
Why didnt McCain pick a QUALIFIED woman to run with him such as Susan Collins?
talk about experience to be a president?
http://us-elections.suite101.com/article.cfm/experience_to_be_president
Palin has been a governor of a low population state for 18 months, and before that she was a mayor of a small town of less than 8,000 people. I hardly call that experience.
I’m a New Yorker. And we all know that Giuliani is a moral-challenged, hypocritical, double standard lovin’ racist piece of $hit who pimped the 9/11 tragedy for his own advancement. Thank God that blew up in his face.
I, for one, disregard everything that comes out of his ever lisping, speech impediment-laden, sufferinsuccotach pie hole !!
His first wife was his cousin, he mercilessly cheated on his second wife with the tramp who is now his wife, and his kids rightfully hate him. And might I add that at least his daughter Caroline once dubbed herself an Obama supporter. In addition, his son can’t stand him.
He and Sarah Pallin are the perfect couple. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to do her. And she and her family and their issues just smacks in the face of the GOP’s whole Family Values bull$hit,
Yeah. That’s family values for you. The Republicans need to go and sit down instead of trying to spin this mess into something positive.
They’ve made some really dumb presidential and vice presidential choices in the past few years. Now it’s the Dems’ chance.
I know ya’ll are scared. But it’s going to happen. Barack Obama is going to win. Get used to it. We finally need someone smart in office.
Besides, I don’t know . . . a dud GOP ticket, stupid veep pick, scandals unfolding by the minute, a screwed up convention, a storm. Seems like divine intervention to me. Maybe these events are telling us something.
So, for all of you naysayers, jackasses, racists like the GOPers, Giuliani, Bush, crazy-ass Jon Voight and the rest:
OBAMA ‘08 !! OBAMA ‘08 !! OBAMA ‘08 !!
GET USED TO IT !!
IT’S GOING TO HAPPEN !!
IT’S IN THE STARS !!
IT’S HIS DESTINY !!
Jared apparently is in love with this woman.
Otherwise how can you explain that many threads for the upcoming first VP lady?
LOL.
Obessed that much, Jared?
She will be the next VP.
Get used to it and start whining now losers!
T&A simple as that! Nothing more.
By the way!
Do you guys know that a state senator only works 55 days a year?
Well, I happen to know that.
LOL.
If John McCain becomes president he’s gunna die soon anywayz –which would mean that this disgusting woman would be the new president–,Im moving overseas. There is no way in hell Im letting this hipocrite dictate how I should live my life.
obama 08!!!
sarah palin is the most disgusting self righteous woman I think I have ever seen. She’s ALMOST as bad as elizabeth hasselbeck
Lmao so she wants abstinence only education? lol way to teach it to your own daughter. It’s pathetic that McCain barely knew her before choosing her. To what? get women votes? Well maybe he’ll get the few idiots but if the plan was Hillary voters then no. Hilary & this hack have completely different views.
Hmm - her personal life should not take center stage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aEuffCnpKg
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz….Using US wkly for your news is sad…Sarah Palin did a lot to reform the state of Alaska….and she did a good job….Everyone sees Obama as a God Like figure because all the Hollywood people are wearing his t-shirts…
OBAMA 08!!!
honestly, the only people I have met who dont want him to win are racist…they say they arent, but they are.
anyone who TRULY wants to see some change in this country is supporting the Obama/Biden campaign.
what a precious beautiful baby.
It’s disgusting how many people are trying to imply giving birth to a baby with DS is a character flaw. People like that would have made great Nazis.
#26 I’ve heard all of your McCain complaints, now why are you voting for Obama?? Seriously you and all the other bandwagon voters have nothing to do but bash McCain.
The media is particularly disgusting with this favoritism practice.
I’m voting McCain and am a proud Republican.
It is unbelievable what republicans are doing and saying. Everything is supposed to be private about Sarah Palin when they tried to force Clinton out of the office because of private family matter. She can use baby down syndrome as a show off but not her pregnant teen. It is called pick and chose which one favors her. Either way, she should first manage her household first before United State of America. I can’t believe she is what the republican can produce. Shame! shame! Shame! Give me a break silly……………..
the mayor of a city of 8000 people??
oh yea.
plentyyyy of experience.
honestly, the only people I have met who don’t want her to win are sexist…they say they aren’t, but they are.
Rudolph Giulani knows the republican parties ideas have screwed up this country, so instead of focusing on the right ideas and policies, because they don’t have any, he wants to smear Obama’s reputation by slamming him every chance he gets, taking things out of context and outright lie and misconstrue things about Obama’s record and positions. Funny how the republicans don’t ever talk about what to do help this country, they want to continue what’s been going on the past 8 years, so they just focus on condemning Obama and talking about McCain’s war experience! What about the country?! And also they preach about morals and family ideals, yet when one of them has an unmarried, pregnant teenage daughter they try to spin it to say “this is a pro-life political position, she’s not getting an abortion!” PLEASE. If you have those type of family troubles fine, but don’t spin it to put your own political agenda on it! And you know she is just forcing these two teens to get married, when under any other circumstance they probably wouldn’t.
Smokey the Bear says no Palin!!
She is bad for the grizzlies and other wildlife, and she is a bad choice for the people of the U.S.A.
Got people talking about her trashy family instead of the real important issue of running the country. Palin is a joke. McCain is an idiot for picking her. I feel insulted as a women. You can’t just throw us any women. We want quality not stupidity. A stupid women leaking amniotic fluid will fly 8 hours on an airplane. This women does not seem to care about family. This is all too pathetic and desperate.
I vote NO to Sarah Palin.
>>sarah palin is the most disgusting self righteous woman I think I have ever seen. She’s ALMOST as bad as elizabeth hasselbeck>>
Yeah, Leah. I definitely agree with you there. I hate EH so much it’s ridiculous. Everytime she opens her mouth, which is way too often as she interrupts the other panelists all the time and can’t seem to control herself.
I really wish Barbara would get rid of her like she did the other chick Debbie she didn’t get along with. They need an independent who can truly see both sides instead of someone who is desperately trying to become a Republican pundit. Elisabeth is way to emotional when discussing issues. And she goes off on tangents with a bunch of lies about Obama every chance she gets. And the nitwits like Sherri and Whoppi don’t call her on her $hit enough. I wish she would just leave with her naive and viscious, racist comments. And I can’t wait until she goes to Minnesota this week so the panel, for at least one day, can get their views across and stay on point withut getting interrupted by Miss Hasselbitch !!
Does the liberal media have nothing better to do??? Us Weekly…there’s a reliable newsworthy source!
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science & have been a lifelong proud Democrat. Now, I consider myself an Independent and am voting for McCain in the fall. Although I don’t really care for either candidate, Obama should NOT be running this early in his career. He does not have nearly enough experience for me to vote for him.
Nicole @ 09/02/2008 at 10:42 pm Yeah it makes me nervous to have someone (Obama) as president who’s only been in his office for less than 200 days before he ran for president.
==============================
I agree completely.
My vote will go to McCain.
The only thing they can say about Obama is that he isn’t experienced. Well I got news for you if you want to argue experience, McCain has NO executive experience himself, no strenghth in how to deal with the economy, and that’s the #1 concern of Americans today. Obama has the right ideas about health care and the economy so he gets my vote hands down. McCain, respect your military experience, but can you lead our country out of this hell we’ve buried ourselves in the past 8 years? NO. It will just be more of the same. The Republican party will continue it’s reign. HIm getting this Palin on his ticket is his way of trying to get the maverick image he wants, but this lady supports the same thing he supports: George Bush’s policies. No thank you.
Experience, experience. McCain is inexperienced in some of the most important areas himself! His major strength he claims is foreign policy, yet he has been unimpressive demonstrating his strengths there is he can’t even get the country names right and confuses policies. Obama may not be the strongest in this area, but come on people he has people around him, a strong administration of people who are well versed in his weaker areas that can make up for it. He is cautious, smart and not temperamental and unreliable like McCain.
And furthermore, say everything you want about Obama and his lack of experience, they were saying the same thing about Clinton, Reagan and Kennedy, our greatest presidents! I’ll take the candidate that actually has the right ideas and policies of change and a great foundation in his admnistration to make up for any weaker areas. VOTE OBAMA. McCain has no idea with how to deal with the middle and working class people. He only helps the corporations and rich get richer.
I wonder what all you people bashing this lady thought about Bill Clinton’s oval office blow jobs??? Let me guess - you are the ones who said that has nothing to do with running the country and thought that “anything goes” was just fine, right? Talk about double-standards - you people are the hypocrites!
haha you can see the crazy in here face…
OBAMA ‘08!
The Republican party: the hand that keeps giving! Keep talking till the election, and they won’t know what hit them on their empty heads.
And Sarah Palin must be a crazy Nazi.
If Obama is too young the this Sarah is young. So if McCain dies she would also be too young to run the white house. It will look like a zoo just like her own household.
to all you complaining about Obama’s lack of experience thinking McCain is the way to go, have you stopped to think about how Obama actually has people around him that are experienced in the areas he’s weak in? So we’ll be fine. And Biden can step in for Obama no problem and our country will still be fine. Either way we’re fine. NOW think about if something happens to cancerous 72 year old McCain, does he have someone experienced to step in? No he has Sarah Palin, a woman who was mayor of a small town in alaska of 6,000 people, that’s the equivalent of an elementary school folks. THINK ABOUT IT. We’re screwed then. If Obama’s in office either way we’re fine because he has a strong administration of people around him that aid him in the foreign policy affairs he’s weak in. If McCain’s elected and something happens to the 72 year old, who has had 4 cancers, then we’re screwed there is no adequate back up. It doesnt work both ways in this case.
Obama is the safest choice if you actually think about it. Mccain made his ticket very risky. Obama has adequate help and aid and advisors.
Let’s focus on change. Not more of the same. You people actually want to CONTINUE what the Republican party has been doing to us the past 8 years? No wonder other countries hate us. Under Obama we have stronger allies, better reputation, better opportunties for working class.
Levi and Bristol sitting on a tree - R - E - D - N - E - C - K - I - N - G
First come baby, then comes marriage, then comes Bristol with the hypocritical no abortion message! Yeah!!!
I agree with #26 ObamaFan.
Besides, I find it funny that in the article it is mentions “her opposition to sex-education classes (she believes in abstinence instruction for teens).” Uh huh, just look at her daughter. She clearly didn’t know how to have safe sex and definately was not practising abstinence since she is knocked up.
I know Obama keeps saying that he can change this country, but can somebody give me (and I am being totally serious here) one way that he says he’s going to do this? So far all I’ve heard is that we need a change, but that is easy for anybody to say. How is he going to do it?
US weekly hadssunk to a whole new low, Now how about a cover with a similar headline “Lies and Scandals” and lets talk about Ayers, Rev. Wright, Father Flager, Tony Resko, Joe Biden’s son that is being indited in federal court, should I go on…
WHERE IS THAT COVER????
MCCAIN/PALIN 2008!!!
Nicole, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Obama has not been in office for 200 days, he was in the Illinois Senate for 8 or 9 years and has been in the US Senate since 2004 (You know it doesn’t hurt to get your news by sources other than Fox News, You guys really need to stop using the same talking points.) By the way, all of the things he said Barack didn’t do..run a city, run a state, blah, blah, blah. Neither has McCain. McCain has never held a job in the private sector. Ever. And for frig’s sake, she was the mayor of a town of less than 8,000 people and left the city 20 million in debt. And as governor, she’s now under investigation for corruption. Vote for her positions on issues, like wanting rape victims to carry the children of rapists or the fact that she doesn’t believe in evolution, or a host of other issues. However, she is not a hero because her daughter got knocked up and she’s not a hero because she kept a baby that wasn’t perfect. That suggestion is beyond insulting and it is a moot point because abortion was never an option for Palin because she’s pro-life, so move on.
question @ 09/03/2008 at 12:04 am
I know Obama keeps saying that he can change this country, but can somebody give me (and I am being totally serious here) one way that he says he’s going to do this? So far all I’ve heard is that we need a change, but that is easy for anybody to say. How is he going to do it?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Be a big boy or girl - google it. Do research. Call his campaign office. Go to his blog. His plans are allpublished on his website. he has made it clear in his speeches. Do the work and you will find out what his plans. I did research on both sides which is why I am voting Obama. It is up to YOU as an American to do your homework if the speeches, caucuses, etc were not enough info for you.
Well Michelle most families that I know are like the Obamas or at least aspire to be. You see that’s why we go to college or not and get jobs before we start families. Since, when is teenage pregnancy to be glorified? I don’t say that the Palins should be vilified, but it is a little disturbing to hear people congratulating a family because their daughter got pregnant and she’s going to keep the baby. Doesn’t that happen everyday? I see girls at the mall all the time and I don’t know many people who go up to their parents and say “good job.” If this was anyone else (like Jamie Lynn) we’d be asking where were her parents, but the Palins’ escape any scrutiny because it’s private. And you can bet that if this was a Democrat’s daughter instead of a Republican, Hannity, O’Reilly, and the rest of the wing nuts would be raising h*ll. Republicans are engaging in a lot of hypocrisy about this issue and I’m glad to see so many people on this board and others pointing that out. And, if I had a child with down syndrome I think it would irk me that people are acting like she took a leper into her home. For Christ’s sake, he’s her child. No one is guaranteed a perfect child and she doesn’t get credit because she, a married woman, kept her “defective” child.
Anyone else notice that every picture, after the initial one with Sarah Palin holding the baby, that the oldest (pregnant, Bristol) is holding the infant?
Why does it seem that the oldest daughter has been religated to taking care of him?
I have yet to see the Father holding the boy.
Plus - Do they ever believe in letting that young infant boy having some peace and quiet? Does he have to be at every rally under the sun?
Sarah Palin - Stop parading your kids around like they are campaign pieces.
Shouldn’t the youngest child, who happens to have downsydrome, be at home in a bed?
Nice choice of words for family values, Republican party, “Life happens.”
Nice way to show America that it is alright to not be present in your children’s lives and that it is ok to allow your child to get pregnant.
Nice example for the Republican Party to put the pregnant daughter and the Father of the unborn child on display at the Republican Convention!
The Republican Party does not want anyone to delve into the family business of someone who put their family business in the public eye, while displaying them like political pieces?
exactly. The Republicans are embarassed so they try to put their political spin on things spinning it as if we should congratulate the teenage daughter for getting pregnant and keeping the baby. No family is perfect, but don’t put your political agenda on this!
And for all the talk of Obama’s lack of experience, I got news for you: McCain has NO executive experience whatsoever. He has no clue on how to manage our economy which is the number one concern among americans. Obama has strategy and he has people around him that are well versed in the areas that he is weaker in. McCain does not have people that will make up for his lack of experience, he has an Alaskan governor, who’s previous experience was a mayor of a small Alaskan town the size of an elementary school.
McCain has no strategy except George Bush’s and took on Palin, a stranger who he doesn’t even know after ONE meeting, making spontaneous, irrational decisions, with his temperament and unreliablity there is no way he will be able to lead this country and if something happens to him she certainly can’t. Atleast Obama is extremely cautious with his plans and decisions and has people around him to make up for the areas he lacks experience in. McCain just wants to play Maverick when he wants to and praise Bush’s “correct economic policy” are you kidding me? OBAMA
The only talk they have to have about Obama is him being “young and inexperienced”. He has been successful passing more legislation than McCain has! McCain has NO executive experience whatsoever! No clue how to deal with economy, which is the number 1 concern of americans!
Obama atleast has people around him well versed in foreign policy. McCain is irrational with his decisions wants to be the maverick and at the same time praise George Bush for his wonderful economic decisions!
The inexperience thing is all you have to drum on about regarding Obama, BUT they used the same thing with the even younger Bill Clinton, Reagan and Kennedy during their elections and they are three of the greatest president’s we’ve ever had!
McCain should have chosen Huckabee. I’ve said it and I’ll say it again.
Huckabee for VP! Palin is a traitor. She was a member of secessionist party AIP. Her husband was a member till 2002. How can she defend and uphold the constitution if she had any misgivings?
Why does Sarah Palin hates America??? come on conservatives. You guys can do better than this!!
MIKE HUCKABEE FOR VP!!!
you republicans who say experience is so important just shot yourselves in the foot by adding her to the ticket. P.S. Alaska is hardly a representation of what America is really like…as far as I’m concerned AL is in a bubble. And Believe me if this happened to Biden’s daughter the GOP would be on him like white on rice. Obama will kill McCain in the debates.. the man is smart this guy made himself something from nothing poor kid made it to the top of his class in Harvard. I’ll take my chances on him any day of the week. The republican party is in shambles listen to Ron Paul and go back to your roots…your party is run by a bunch of neo-conservatives (hypocrites at best). this country will fall further down the crapper if mccain is elected.
She’s scary - she’s got crazy eyes or something.
Jared your being very biased here. I don’t recall this site going after Obama throughout all his scandals. I don’t recall seeing articles about his church or his land deals with felons. Come on now Jared, what’s this site turning into, a democratic party launching pad?
If the rumors were that you are not the 4 month old babies mother- instead of throwing her daughter underneath the bus, she should have done the following
1) Get 5-10 reputable journalist in a room (no cameras, cell phones allowed)
2) Release her medical records for a limited amount of time (Birth Certificate, Medical documentation, amniocentesis report, ultrasound- whatever is necessary to counter those rumors)
3) Let those journalist go on tv, internet, blog and dispel those nasty rumors
AND BE DONE WITH IT- IT IS EXTRA- GHETTO TO SAY- BRISTOL CAN’T BE THE MOTHER OF THE 4 MONTH OLD- SHE’S FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry folks, that is some extra ghetto *********************

the mayor of a city of 8000 people??
oh yea.
plentyyyy of experience.

I heard on TV that of the four of them (McCain, Obama, Palin, Biden) Palin is the only one with executive experience!
Sarah looks crazy! Just like Bush and the other Republicans…….
# 9 lisa @ 09/02/2008 at 10:51 pm
wtf?!?!?! she doesnt believe in teaching sex ed..?? no wonder her ****** daughter got pregant!
——-
Unfortunately, according to a survey, kids start sex when they are about 14. Many teenagers get pregnant, whether they have had sex ed or not, whether their parents are Republicans or Democrats.
US voter @ 09/02/2008 at 11:03 pm Yeah it makes me nervous to have someone (Obama) as president who’s only been in his office for less than 200 days before he ran for president.
That being said, I don’t agree with a lot of Palin’s views.

You ARE A LIAR.Obama has been a US senator for over four years, and before that he was a state senator for 8 years
####################
Correction. Obama was a part time Illinois state Senator for 7 years. He was in the US Senate for less than 2 years when he started his run for the presidency. He has barely been a presence in the US Senate. He completely neglected his job as Chair of the European Subcommittee. In fact, the most significant experience he has at anything is campaigning for president.
Obama is not ready to be president. His lack of experience is much more troubling to me than hers as vice-president. She at least has shown real political courage in standing uo to her own party big wigs and to big oil companies. I think McCain saw himself himself in her. A real maverick unafraid to stand up to the staus quo.
The choices this year leave me angry and disappointed.
What a fabulous woman! You go girl!

Palin has been a governor of a low population state for 18 months, and before that she was a mayor of a small town of less than 8,000 people. I hardly call that experience.

Nevertheless, it IS executive experience that the other three don’t have! I heard this on TV. I really watch too much TV.
OMG! Sarah is in the cover of all tabloids. Sarah is the new mega star.
I tell you, everything about Sarah is HOT! She is currently the internet QUEEN. The web is abuzz with anything and everything about Sarah.
People will buy all the tabloids because they want more of Sarah. They can’t get enough of Sarah.
Obama was State Senator for 8 yers then US Senator. FYI: Eisenhower served two years before becoming President as was the case with Zachary Taylor. Obama went to Harvard and Columbia, is world traveled, a community organizer, then a great Senator in one of the largest cities in teh world. He has run an amazing campaign - and mobilized millions. Palin was Governor of 9,000 people. She had never been out of the US until she just got her passport to go to Kuwait. She wore a pink shirt that read “I may be broke but I am not flat busted”. She was a former beauty queen - she is a hypocrite teaching our kids abourt no sex but her own kid does not believe in it. She is against abortion even in cases of incest and rape.
If you were raped ladies, would you like to keep yoru rapists’s baby? I fyour husband got your daughter pregnant (his daughter) or a brother got his sister pregnant, would you like her to keep the baby? Well Sarah Palin thinks she should. She has no judgment nor does McCain.

Of course they will! So will the Republicans. The voters decide. That’s democracy.
What I can’t understand is that so many people already decided and they haven’t even heard her speech at the convention yet (tomorrow).
Have a look. I read the first page only.

Jared, you should have stuck with celebs. I’m out of here because I will not sit back and watch you salivate at the destruction of a 17 year old girl and a decent woman.

She is bad for the grizzlies and other wildlife, and she is a bad choice for the people of the U.S.A.

How is she bad for wildlife?
I don’t know why people are talking bashing this competent woman. Every Alaskan loves her because she fought corruption within her party. She’s the most popular governor in the country.
Connie @ 09/02/2008 at 11:23 pm Got people talking about her trashy family instead of the real important issue of running the country.
Connie, you don’t know what you’re talking about. She had some leakage and checked with her doctor before flying home. Leakage and even your water breaking isn’t always an emergency situation. This was her fifth pregnancy and she knew what real labor felt like. They realized she wasn’t in labor and flew home checking in with her doctor along the way. She had to be nduced the next morning so she clearly wasn’t in labor during the flight.
The only thing that seems trashy is your post.
After all this lies and twisting of the truth about Sarah Palin (just read up on her in Alaska) , I like her even more. If a woman can fight corruption within her party, no less, gets the job done and the people in her state loves her and only say good things about her, then she got my vote.
If your daughter was raped by her brother, father, or some strange wacko, would you want her to keep that baby? Well Palin voted to make sure such a daughter would HAVE to keep that baby. This woman is creepy. Wants to skip teaching of dinosaurs and just teach creationism. Where is Maury and Jerry? This is a Trailer Trash Maury episode waiting to happen. This woman is creepy and out of touch!
She is against abortion in ALL cases (even incest and rape) but she is completely ok killing and hunting innocent animals. What a HYPOCRITE!

(or was it Cold State. I forgot).
I see a lot of people putting down republicans and McCain, but not saying why it is they are voting for Obama. People are so effing ‘tarded.
So Sarah’s 5 month old baby will be uncle to Bristol’s child?
Oh, And Levi’s MYspace page has a video where he claims he is a “f—n redneck”. I quote. And he will be at the convention tomorrow. Wow, this is class at its finest. Bwahahaha! Genius.

If people would actually learn something about her it might help. But then I don’t think some people really want to knw. They just want to trash her in the most gutter like way and then accuse her of being trash. LOL
I’ve listened to some independent journalists who HAVE either done lengthy interviews with her or have interviewed those who have dealings with her. She has become very knowledgable about energy issues and foreign trade issues which are vital to Alaska. Bbecause of their location they deal heavily with the Pacific Rim. Alaska has offices in Taiwan, Korea, and she has been dealing with these countries in negotiations. She also negotiated a great new deal for Alaska with the oil companies. She recently had to deal with flooding in the state. So turning your nose up at her experience simply shows a lack of knowledge. No male governor would be so easily dismissed. Even before she became governor she was chair of the enrgy commission and used it to gain expertise on the issue - an issue vital to the economy and security of this country.
One could easily turn their nose up at Obama’s exaggerated resume. Not everyone is so easily impressed with being just one of 100 Senators who schmooze and not accomplish a whole lot. Obama has not traveled the world as an adult. In fact until he was running for president he barely went anywhere. Oh, he did make that highly publicized visit to his family’s place in Africa surrounded by his Chicago entourage while a film was made of thew journey for his campaign. Peopel too easily drink the kool aid when it comes to Obama. There’s just not a lot there with him. No matter how they try to package it. It was a big mistake and incredibly self absorbed for him to run on such a razor thin resume. He should have kept the promise he made that he would not run for president in 2008.

Bartiromo Talks With Sarah Palin
Posted on: Tuesday, 2 September 2008, 15:00 CDT
On Monday, I was in Alaska for an hour-long CNBC special on the oil business and had an exclusive interview with Governor Sarah Palin, selected Friday as Republican John McCain’s Vice-Presidential running mate. I talked with her again on Wednesday as speculation began to swirl that she would be the surprise choice of McCain, whose nomination for the Presidency is scheduled to be formalized at the GOP Convention in St. Paul, Minn., beginning on Labor Day. Palin, 44, not only is governor but is the mother of five, including a newborn with Down syndrome. She is smart, feisty, articulate, and has an enormous command of the oil business in Alaska. At the end of our interview, she talked about what her role would be at the Republican Convention. Obviously, that has changed.
MARIA BARTIROMO Despite all the talk of unity at the Democratic Convention, there still seems to be real residual anger among Hillary Clinton supporters. How do you think the GOP can attract women disenchanted with the Democrats?
GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN And they should be disenchanted because, you know, I’m looking at Barack [Obama] and looking at the choice he made, and I think: “Geez, he should have chosen Hillary.” But I’m glad he didn’t. For the sake of the Republican agenda, I’m glad that he didn’t. I think that perhaps this is an opportunity for the Republican Party to manifest its [convention] plank that says we respect equality, and gender is not an issue in someone’s ability and their capabilities and their opportunities in America.
Let the GOP be the party, then, that can embrace that and manifest that. But you know, Hillary ran an awesome campaign. She made women proud. She doesn’t represent what I would like to see in the White House, but as a woman looking at a woman candidate, I was proud that Hillary shattered some ceilings.
MB After eight years of a Republican in the White House, the economy is the top concern of voters across the country. Why should Americans trust the GOP to get this economy and the markets back on track?
SP Because capitalism still works. The free marketplace and competition still work. I believe, though, we need to get more of the special interests and the undue influence out of the policy making that perhaps we’ve seen in the past. I say that based on my own experience here in the state of Alaska, where the oil industry had some corrupting influence on our lawmakers. And a few of our lawmakers are serving federal prison time right now for being bought with oil service company dollars and bribes. And it’s been a great learning ground for me here to see what can happen when that undue influence is allowed to set policy and affect votes. It’s unacceptable, it’s atrocious, and on a federal level, we got to get that out of there, too.
MB Clearly the two candidates are very different on economic issues. If perhaps you were in the [McCain] Administration what would your agenda be in terms of top economic priorities?
SP Well, energy is so entwined with our economy and our security and our future that energy issues are going to be my top priority wherever I am.
MB How important is drilling in Alaska to ease the burden of high oil prices on Americans?
SP Not only to ease the high prices of energy in America but also for national security reasons. Drilling in Alaska is going to be a matter of life and death. Up here in Alaska, we’re bursting with billions of barrels of oil that are warehoused underground. We have to pump [this oil) and feed our hungry markets instead of relying on the foreign sources of energy.
MB Why have we been unable to do that?
SP I think some in Congress have misconceptions about what ANWR [Arctic National Wildlife Refuge) is all about and what Alaska is all about. When you talk about ANWR and the area that needs to be unlocked so that we can explore more and develop these billions of barrels of oil, it's a swath of land that's about 2,000 acres in size -- and that's out of a 20 million-acre plain that has been set aside. So 2,000 acres, that's like a postage stamp on a football field. It's about the footprint-size of LAX [airport]. And I think a lot of people have assumed that it’s some mountainous, green valley — an area so extremely pristine that wildlife would be adversely affected; land, water, air would be adversely affected if those 2,000 acres were allowed to be tapped. And that is not true. We have very, very stringent oversight up here in Alaska with our resource development. We would even ramp up that oversight to a greater degree if people would understand the importance of unlocking that swath of land and let the development begin.

Maria Bartiromo Talks With Sarah Palin PART 2
September 2, 2008
MB Isn’t the big concern that we’re going to see an adverse impact on the caribou and other wildlife?
SP Yeah, exactly. And we have a good track record up here in Alaska in proving that our developments will not adversely impact a wildlife species or population. Look at the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline. For 30 years, billions of barrels of oil have been flowing through that infrastructure into domestic markets, and the caribou population has thrived. No one cares more about Alaska’s wildlife and our lands and our water and our air than Alaskans ourselves. So when Alaska says: “We’re ready, and we’re willing, and we’re able to develop, and we will make sure that wildlife is not adversely impacted,” people have got to give us some credit here and respect our position on this. Again, we care more than anybody else about our home here.
MB Some people might say: “Look, even though opening up ANWR has been a symbolic issue for Republicans, the oil there may only have a marginal effect on reducing overseas dependence. Why is ANWR so important and how do we know that there’s actually enough oil there to really make a difference?
SP Because just that swath of land in that refuge alone is estimated to hold about 11 billion barrels of oil and 9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. And those are just the areas that have been explored. That’s about a year and a half worth of U.S. oil consumption and many months of natural gas. It’s about a trillion dollars worth of energy. And that’s — again — just that sliver of ANWR. So when we hear, “Well, maybe there isn’t enough,” or “Well, it’s too late to drill now anyway, we should have done this five, 10 years ago,” hey, I can’t argue that. I say yeah, we should have done that years ago. But better to start that drilling today than wait and continue relying on foreign sources of energy. We are a nation at war and in many [ways] the reasons for war are fights over energy sources, which is nonsensical when you consider that domestically we have the supplies ready to go.
MB How can the Republicans convince the country that four years from now our dependence on foreign oil will have been radically diminished?
SP Well, we have to prove that Alaska is ready, willing, and able to allow this opportunity for the lands to be unlocked by Congress, and also we have to protect Americans and protect Alaskans, who own the resources underground, from big-oil-industry interests that may have in the past taken advantage of a state like Alaska and been allowed to warehouse reserves. We’ve got a battle on two fronts — not only with an oil industry that is making mind-boggling, world-record profits [but with a) Congress that has said no to unlocking Alaskan lands. So as soon as we can convince more Americans to put pressure on their congressmen, their congresswomen to allow the development and the mutually beneficial partnering with the oil industry we’ll become less dependent on foreign sources.
MB Your husband works up in the North Slope, correct?
SP He does. He works for BP (BP) as an oil production operator up in the oil fields. It’s a great blue-collar, hourly-paid, union job up there. It’s one of those jobs that Alaskans really like to have because it provides so well for a family, and Alaskans are very blessed to have the opportunities to work in the oil patch.
MB So what does he say?
SP He’s on the ground, he’s right on the front line. What does he say about more drilling and more jobs? He’s very excited not only in his role as a father of five kids who are going to be needing jobs in Alaska but also as an Alaskan native. He and his family have lived here for generations, and they have such a connection with the lands and with the environment, and he wants to make sure that our environment, our lands, our wildlife are protected. That’s just in his blood. But also, as Alaska’s First Dude, he’s very concerned, too, about our economy and about Alaska being able to finally be in a position to contribute more to the U.S. instead of taking from the federal government. Because in our 50 years as a state, we have been too reliant on the federal government to pay our bills. That’s nonsense when you consider the wealth that we have in our natural resources. Let that land be unlocked, let that production begin, let Alaska contribute more to the U.S.
Maria Bartiromo Talks With Sarah Palin PART 3
September 2, 2008
MB Middle-class Americans who pay their bills on time are seeing their credit-card rates jacked up, but the Democrats, like Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Joe Biden, who has long had deep ties to that industry, don’t seem to be reacting to that issue. Do you see an opportunity there for Republicans?
SP Yep. Here again, Republicans have got to be observant of what is going on in the Democratic Party, and if Republicans are going to finally reform our own party — and I am convinced we have to reform — we’ve got to not embrace the status quo and just be going along to get along. We have got to get out of the box, and we’ve got to start doing some really unconventional thinking here and grab hold of some of these issues that the Democrats are slacking off on. It’s not only our responsibility to Americans, but it’s our opportunity to show that this party is not going to be controlled by just special interests and the pork-barrel politics of the past, but we are going to reform and we are going to be serving for the right reasons.
MB The Republican Party has been beset by scandals during the Bush Administration — from former lobbyist Jack Abramoff to Alaska Senator Ted Stevens. And now Obama is not taking any campaign contributions from lobbyists. You came into office talking about clean government. How do Republicans match Obama on the anti-corruption issue?
SP Oh, he’s very smart not to take any money from lobbyists. You know, what we have to do is really walk the walk and not just talk the talk. In my administration, lobbyists don’t come into my office. And we even joked around about saying lobbyists need to wear a big L on their lapel so that everybody knows who they are, so if they’re sitting there in the gallery [of the legislature) as our lawmakers are taking votes, we know some of that influence may be sitting there in the background.
SP There needs to be awareness that lobbyists have great influence, sometimes not good influence, on votes and on policy making, and in order to walk the walk, what I have done is just make that personal choice to not engage with the lobbyists. If a firm or a community wants to talk to me about an issue, they need to figure out how to do that themselves. If a city comes to my office and they need a new high school built or they need a water plant repaired, their mayor, their city council, whomever, need to come talk to me. Convince me. Don't send a lobbyist. And again, going back to Obama, he's been smart in trying to prove that he will not be unduly influenced, but I also believe McCain, who has been such a maverick, recognizes that Americans are sick and tired of politics as usual and of the corruption and of the undue influence. And McCain is not going to put up with it, either.
MB What will your role be at the upcoming convention? [This interview was conducted before Gov. Palin became the announced nominee]
SP I’m doing a pro-life speech. Four months ago, my fifth child was born with Down syndrome so I value innocent life. It took many months for me to get my arms around the idea of, first, having a fifth child at my age, but also knowing that my child would have an extra chromosome. But I prayed the whole time, “God, just prepare me, prepare my heart and prepare my family.” And talk about confirmation of that prayer, I mean, Trig is just — he is to me — absolutely perfect. And everybody’s in love with him, and he’s the sweetest little baby in the world.

They could care less who anybody is going to vote for.
As far as Sarah Palin goes, it’s true she’s in the same boat as a lot of people, but I have some serious concerns about her ability to make rational decisions. in spite of obama’s flaws i honestly believe that he will listen to both sides of the issue before making a decision. palin seems to impulsive to be a fair leader.
Sarah Palin terrible choice
NY TIMES Tudesday sept 2 2008 “When Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska was introduced as a vice-presidential pick, she was presented as a magnet for female voters, the epitome of everymom appeal.
But since then, as mothers across the country supervise the season’s final water fights and pack book bags, some have voiced the kind of doubts that few male pundits have dared raise on television. With five children, including an infant with Down syndrome and, as the country learned Monday, a pregnant 17-year-old, Ms. Palin has set off a fierce argument among women about whether there are enough hours in the day for her to take on the vice presidency, and whether she is right to try. ”
Oh! Give me a break This lady never heard of birth control or how to bring up her daughter. What is her daughter doing pregnant??? 17 year old girls get pregnant when their is no education at home about birth control. Sarah Palin was too busy being super mom running Alaska to take time to raise her daughter properly..
Seventeen year old girls want to have baby’s when there is no one home they can count on. No one at home to talk to. No one home who loves them so they go out get pregnant so they Will have a baby who will love them! Jesus. Ignorant dumb girls get pregnant in high school.
What the **** is John McCain doing bringing this woman into the vice presidency slot.
This woman is such an insult on so many other levels. she was john McCain’s way of showing disdain for the Equal rights women in the Republican party. god knows we have enough problems with them with out McCain bastardizing everyone
from blogscot live
You know, when a person has a cocaine problem, the solution is rarely “We’ll get you more coke, hold on now.” Rather, you get them using better solutions for their depression, anxiety, whatever drove them to use. How the fook some pols think people are dumb enough to believe that more drilling is the solution for America’s oil addiction is just mind boggling.
Sales of hybrid vehicles and demand for higher vehicle mileage are up. The Hummer is being discontinued. Citizens get it, why don’t these people? It’s the economy, stupids. People want to end their dependence on foreign oil, waste less of our money on overseas wars that also damage our world citizen standing, reduce the national debt, and improve our daily existence rather than continue to prop up our worst image of ourselves while we borrow ourselves into oblivion.
And in terms of experience, I’m sorry but Harvard Law grad, ed in chief of Harvard Law Review, civil rights attorney, community organizer, alum of IL state senate, US Senate, author and likely on his 2d 75-page passport, that’s exposure to the world and organizational skill that Palin just lacks. She is childlike in comparison, and there are dozens of Republican women who should have been chosen ahead of her as a sincere candidate rather than a gimmick. And many of them would have been better at ticket top.
I’ve paid the US gov a ridiculous amount of money in Federal taxes over the years. While I hate to part with the money, I realize that is part of a citizen funded government, and so I like to see my money well spent on the best and brightest “employees.” I might hire Palin for a legislative position to cut her teeth, or I might hire her to run a tourist board. But no way no how would I hire her to be a heartbeat away from Oval Office behind a 72 year old who has recurrent cancer.
I’m sorry but at 3 a.m. on even the dullest night of the year, I want Palin nowhere near the damn phone in any house except her own back in Alaska.
Anonymous, I’ve read about her, and watched quite a bit of interview video. I’m not bashing her, I’m just stating that I feel she’s not competent for this job. We’ll keep her resume on file and we’ll let her know if something becomes available. We appreciate her interest in the Federal Government as an employer, and hope she will continue to support us. Thank you.

THANKS for speaking the truth, if it is a private matter, then why the hell did Gov. Palin throw her daughter under the bus.
Bad mother, Bad VP (yeah I said it)
Holla Rudy Giuliani!!! Everything he says is oh so true…
I am so thrilled to see Sarah Palin as the VP candidate. And Jared, you are a buffoon (1 : a ludicrous figure : clown
2 : a gross and usually ill-educated or stupid person ) for using your meritless celebrity gossip blog as a way to exploit Sarah Palin for the sake of Obama’s hopeful political gain.
BTW did you know Obama was born when his mother was 18? He also admitted to using cocaine in his 20s.
Jared, you moron.
Another BTW, can’t wait to see Bill O’Reilly rip Obama a new as*hole on Thursday!
isnt it abit hypocritical to say abstinance is the key when her own daughter is pregnant?
103- ur a freakin b!cth! this is JAREDS site! he can say whatever the heck he wants and if you dont like it go to some republican forum or something! he’s not even saying anything mean, geez. leave him alone
Use to read Us, Rolling Stone but will no longer. This cover is deplorable.
I think Sarah Palin is indeed the mother of Trig. I also think that if she insisted on giving her speech on April 17th after her waters broke, and then insisted on going on that 8 hours flight back to Alaska, it was because she knew that doing so could easily kill the fetus, and hoped that it would - a form of passive abortion which would save her face with regard to her position about abortion. It didn’t work, and now she is saddled with a Down’s Syndrome child.
To the moron above:
1) Obama’s mom was at the Uiversity of Hawaii when she became pregnant to a well accomplished man from Kenya also at the University of Hawaii. They got married and she went on to earn a Graduate degree while raising kids
2) Did you know that a person is considered legal at 18? So actually if Obama’s mom was pregnant at 18 while in college that is NOT considered underage pregnancy.
3) Miss Palin’s daughter is not out of high shcool yet!!!!
4) Yes Obama, like Bill Clinton and George Bushe used drugs - BUT he also got into Harvard and did great things besides this experimental stage as did Clinton.
5) What we are talking about here is a reckless woman who threw her daughter to the wolves knowing full well her daughter was 5 months pregnant and 17
6) Obama was not in the public eye whe he was going thru his trials and tribualtions as a teen - this Palin girl has been thrust into the limelight by her uncaring mother who HAPPENS to have a 6 month old high risk baby - nice judgment.
And again, this cow of a woman has NO respect for women as she ok’s pregnancies even in the most grotesque crimes. She is a ruthless cow for that and she should be ashamed of her lack of respect for women. Hypocrites! They love the death penalty (cause it kills undesirables) but hate abortions (cause it saves desirable children). And does Palin have any plans to support all the poor teen girls who are going to have babies and keep them or does she not care cause her well-to do daughter will be able to sustain having a baby as a 17 yr old???? HYPOCRITES! Repub neocon hypocrite!
#108, sorry to have to correct you but if you double check Obama’s mother’s birthdate, she was in fact pregnant before her 18th Birthday! She was 17 years old at the time she got pregnant. She looks like she wants to drink my blood in that cover photo! BBBrrrr!
I hope Americans have more sense than that!
Both Obama & McCain are bad choice.
Everyone in Hollyweird always hyped about Obama as if he’s the it thing now, what is his appeal exactly anyway, he’s too young and inexperienced. Obama keeps talking about change, but what kind of change that he’ll offer anyway, what if it turned out to be worse than now.
McCain was bad option too, he’s too old, and this Sarah Palin couldn’t manage her own family, how on earth she able to manage the country anyway.

C550 - Excellent post!
US WEEKLY SHOULD REALLY HAVE A BOARD MEETING AND GET RID OF ALL THOSE WHO SUPPORT THE CRAP THEY PUBLISH. SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR OBVIOUS UNFAIR BIAS OF SARAH PALIN.
You asked how Palin can be for the death penalty and against abortion? You are talking about killing murderers versus killing innocent babies. Why is it so hard to understand how she can be for one and not the other? What makes no sense to me is how someone can be AGAINST the death penalty and FOR abortion. It’s not okay to kill someone who has killed another person, but it’s okay to kill an unborn baby? Explain that to me, please.
A picture speaks 1000 words? Definitely scary. I live overseas, and was a bit homesick til I saw McCain’s VP pick–a cheerleading, gun-toting, anti-sex education, fundamentalist with a year old passport (she lists a plane stop-over in Ireland, on countries visited). As a mother of 5–including a boy in the service–and full-time writer, I’m insulted by this woman’s self-righteous mind set–and appalled that she could be a heartbeat away from the presidency. And the GOP markets her as the epitome of modern American women? Please. This “good Christian” laughed three different times, on camera, when an interviewer called a political rival–suffering from cancer–”a *****,” and “a cancer.” Tell McCain that in his good ear. Oh, and also tell her to keep her kids off center stage, if privacy is suddenly so important.
(How she could’ve put Bristol in that spotlight, WHEN she did, is beyond comprehension. At least maybe now others can take turns holding baby Trig, like “First Dude” or Levi…once they teach him not to say the f-word so much.)

He should have kept the promise he made that he would not run for president in 2008.
He made that promise? When? Guess he couldn’t wait.
I have it. She is so great, why doesn’t she run for Pres. and McCain become VP !!!!
No, it’s not hypocritical to say that abstinence is key when her own 17 year-old daughter is pregnant. Abstinence works….if you don’t have sex, you can’t get pregnant. You cannot control if your teenage has sex. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law told their teenage daugther time and time again “we don’t want you to have sex before the age of 18, but if you decide to, please use birth control. We’ll buy it for you, if you come to us and ask” They have also been very careful about where she goes and who she hangs out with. Well guess what, the girl is 15 and they just found out that she has been sneeking off to meet her boyfriend and having unprotected sex for the last 3 months. You can only guide your children and try to teach them to make good decisions. You cannot control them.

She isn’t running for president.
If she can’t inspire her own daugther to practice abstenice and not drink how is she going to inspire a country to follow her. It would be one thing if her daughter is off in college on her own but she is not. She is still living under her roof.

I think Sarah is great, has a powerful presence about her, faces problems with guts, and doesn’t back down to the good old boys. I am looking forward to hearing her speech tonight!!
Far better pick than loser Joe Biden…….he’s proven to be a loser, election-wise; I have far more faith in Sarah Palin as a VP candidate.
to jby @ 09/03/2008 at 6:57 am No, it’s not hypocritical to say that abstinence is key when her own 17 year-old daughter is pregnant.
____________
No you cannot control your kids but you can learn from them and think twice before you open you mouth about these things publicly…
i am not the biggest fan of this lady.. but do you have to make a fact that her baby is DOWN in every single post when you comment of her baby.. leave the freaken baby alone.. okay we get it that he’s DOWN! but can’t we look beyond that..
Michelle- do you mean most americans families are like hers mean all white families. Despite how we are portrayed, black americans are american families. We have working mothers and fathers, well mannered kids, etc. It amazes me how racist whites still are, we are america, Barack is America, and I would rather have him in office than another 8yrs of a racist leader who will ruin this country even further than bush has.
SARAH PALIN DOES NOT HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE THAN OBAMA.
Obama has over 10 years, in both the state senate and the US senate. That’s over a decade in the political world! Sarah Palin has been governor for about 18 months and was recently a mayor of a small town! What a joke! If the Republicans think Obama is inexperienced, why would they put Sarah Palin as VP when McCain is old and has dealt with cancer?
Sarah Palin isn’t ready to lead our country! This undermines the Republicans whole attack on Obama’s inexperience because McCain says a VP has to be ready to be President on DAY-ONE. Sarah Palin is NOT ready to be President on day-one!
Furthermore, McCain has experience on the WRONG side of the issues and experience voting with Bush over 90% of the time! What Obama has that McCain lacks is the JUDGEMENT on all important issues. That makes him qualified to be commander in chief. And any experience Obama may lack is made up for with Joe Biden!
I thought McCain put his country first? Apparently he’d rather try and get votes with women and religious voters by selecting Sarah Palin. What a political sellout and liar.
Sarah Palin is a hypocrite. Her own daughter got pregnant, yet she preaches “family values”!! I’m not attacking the kid, but man, Sarah Palin needs to reevaluate her positions and beliefs and stop judging other people on their morals. Maybe she should support contraceptive sex education! Every think of that!?!?
How could a mother subject her family to this scrutiny? Especially when she has a newborn baby with down syndrome. What kind of mother is that?!?!?!
This whole thing is crazy!
VOTE OBAMA!
ehhh
This site and other pop sites are surely Obama supporters. But in the real world, no one knows who would be the better president. Maybe Sarah with a strong political camp around her could make history on being one of the best president’s ever. No one can really foresee the value of one candidate and often the under dog takes everyone by surprise. I still haven’t decided who to vote for, in these times this is not a decision to be made lightly. God Bless America.
Obama shouldn’t be running for President this early in his career. In tough times we need someone experienced not a pushover other countries will target. Palin is like many working mothers out there and I can relate how tough it is and to get respect. She doesn’t only talk but she’s fought for what’s right and has won. I’m tired of the press giving negative views on McCain but praising Obama for achieving nothing besides being the first MIXED guy running for president, that’s the only change I see.

Of the four of them (McCain, Obama, Palin and Biden), Palin is the only one with executive experience.

Abortion is a very important issue. Where was his good judgement recently. To the question “when does life begin,” McCain answered, “At conception.” Obama danced around it, and finally said, “…….that’s above my pay grade.” Please explain that!
Abortion or not should ONLY be the parents’ decision. No one else’s business, no one else’s right to have an opinion!

That’s exactly right! You can’t know beforehand. It’s only at the end of the term that you can judge if your leader has done a good job.
If people knew eight years ago what they know now, would they have voted for Bush?
136 the incredible edward! @ 09/03/2008 at 9:14 am
Abortion or not should ONLY be the parents’ decision. No one else’s business, no one else’s right to have an opinion!
——-
EVERYBODY is entitled to his/her opinion! Pastor Warren asked both men their opinion, “when does life begin.”
McCain answered. Obama was evasive (maybe he was afraid to give his opinion), and came out with the feeble, “that’s above my pay grade.”
Of course, EVERYBODY is entitle to an opinion about their OWN fetus and body.
Not anybody else’s.
Deciding on having an abortion or not, is tough and it is a decision depending on numerous individual factors. No two cases can be the same and I believe one should refrain from having “general opinions” about the matter. Being so stubbornly against it in all cases can cause a lot more hurt and pain than the supposed killing of a human being.
I don’t know when life begins, but I am certain that sometimes it is for the best to terminate that “life”.
I think that it is clear that I am not discussing canditates here… The issue is too important to let politicians decide about it.
It’s sad that the Republican Party can do no better than produce a VP candidate that adds nothing more than intense gossip and the uncovering of more dirty dealing practices. How can a mother throw her daughter under the bus like this? How can a president use a woman and her pregnant un-wed daughter to garner attention? That is not a leadership team I want making decisions for me. I have not heard one intelligent speech come out of the McCain’t Camp; their words are all showboating and trying to sneak votes out of us.
Millions and millions of hard working people have been waiting all their life for their shot at the American Dream. The Republican’s have done a great job of selfishly hording the American Dream for themselves and everyone that will sell their soul to go along with them. I would much rather vote for Obama|Biden and throw my bet down on a dream that seems too good to be true. My appetite for these dried up old beef-jerky lying Republicans has ended. I hope that all the people that have plenty of time to go clubbing, play video games, snark on the internet, and generally romp and play in our beautiful country, come out and vote. It would be a dream come true to see us being honorable again in our global relationships. We deserve to be represented with respect and honor. We work hard and give a lot to the world. Shame on you McCain’t.
Sarah is the most popular. Move over Obama ‘cos you are now irrelevant.
People Obama cover flopped. Clear indication that the mini van majority has not taken to him and most possibly this is a hint on how he will fare in November.
Hillary 2012.
People Obama cover flopped. Clear indication that the mini van majority has not taken to him and most possibly this is a hint on how he will fare in November.
______________
I think it is just a hint on how much they love to gossip! LMAO
Why do you keep insulting JUST JARED? Is he the only BLOG with these pictures? EVERYBODY has them. Palin is the talk of the town, Blogs post things people are interested in - Politics, sports, entertainment, whatever.
If you don’t wanna hear or read anything, bury your heads in the sand, stay at home, shut your doors, unplug your PCs, TVs and Radios, stuff cotton balls in your ear, Do whatever you want but do NOT click on a website and then call the owner pathetic for posting something the entire nation is talking about. It make you PATHETIC.
Politics has always been dirty business. This election is no different, the past two presidential elections that have been voter machine rigged by the Republician Party and it won’t suprise me if this election we’ll see another Republican in the Oval office.
Angi - Are you the family’s personal historian? Have you seen every picture there is to see of the Palin family? Have you never held a younger sibling or just a baby in general without thinking you were “relegated” to care for them? Do you really think a father never holds his own child?
You are unfortunately one of the millions of people who just believe that media wants you to believe. If they show you a picture, you think that’s the entire story. If you don’t see a picture, you make a story.
PEOPLE, STOP BELIEVING THE MEDIA! STOP CYNICISM! STOP JUDGING!
Joe Lieberman thoughts about Palin “When asked if McCain’s little-known running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was ready to take over if disaster struck. “Let’s hope for the best. John is in great shape,” he said.” Now this makes me wonder how much the Republican Party paid Lieberman to speak last night at the convention.
I find her views on sex ed stupid cos otherwise there would be pregnant teens all over the place!!!
I think Obama is better than McCain, but I dont really care who becomes president
Cos Im ENGLISH lol x
She is a bonafide disaster in all respects! And, her style is stuck in the 90’s with big hair clips, piled high hair, and fringe. Aren’t candidates supposed to look appropriate with the times???
I started a website to talk about Sarah Palin-especially the rumors and her positions-as well as Alaska itself.
Also-another huge reason is a story I want to get out in the public. A Santa Barbara based career criminal drug dealer and violent psychopath has been stalking myself and a Beverly Hills girl for ages-she is now five days missing but police are on it and am hopeful.
The website is here:
http://www.sarahpalinrumorcheck.blogspot.com
Didn’t John McCain learn anything from the Keating 5? Namely, that your reputation is only as good as the company you chose to be with?
John McCain would have been better off picking Heidi Montag from the Hills as his running mate. At least Heidi is a virgin.
Everyone needs to leave the children out of this. How nasty of a nation have we become, that we smear the reputations of kids? All children make mistakes.
#153 is Sarah Palin.
Lies, lies, lies, yeah.
There is a difference between saying that abstinance is best and not teaching sex ed. What needs to happen is sex ed needs to be taught with the idea that abstinance is the best way to not get pregnant.
Why is Palin being blamed for her 17 year olds choices? Seriously ever single one of us posting on this site has made choices in our lives that our parents didn’t agree with. It’s the parents job to teach the kid the difference between right and wrong but its the kids choice to listen. Sarah Palin is in no way responsible for her daughter’s choice to have sex. By the age of 17 most parents job raising their kids is done. The kid is old enough to know about sex and old enough to decide if she wants to have it or not. Stop blaming Sarah Palin for her daughter’s choices
Fawk this useless *****…. She’s not fit to run her own dayum house, with her ugly teenage daughter getting drunk and letting Billy the Redneck knock her up, yet you want this to ***** to speak for America? She just had a baby… What the hell was McCain thinking? And she’s anti-abortion even in rape cases? Well here’s my prayer for you and your family bytch…. I pray your daughter gets raped, along with the rest of your kids and yourself. I pray the females get pregnant so that both your kids will not only be aunt/uncle to each other, but also siblings…. Then I pray the males get AIDS and die from it.
Run your own *****-fest of a household and leave running the country to those who don’t have kids pro-creating and getting drunk. What a big joke
Jared, I am just crushed as a woman and as a Republican you would put this ugly attack against a fine woman on your site. I just deleted the rag TMZ, please don’t make me lose you, too. Please, readers of this site, search for the facts before you make a decision on this woman. The press is smearing her to death because she is a woman, a Republican and a mother. Don’t you do the same. Women can be so ugly and petty when it comes to other women. Don’t let the men and liberal press drag us down. Support a woman’s right to be heard.
Thank God we have Us Weekly to set us straight on politics!
Seriously, I fall right in the middle politically: neither ticket sounds all that wonderful- but come on.
Any whiff of scandal for a republican and it’s cover stories and media saturation, the same for Barack and everyone in journalism gets offended.
Where is the parity?
It’s up to the parent to keep the child from that type of mistake. A baby is a lifelong comittment. Is she going to do the same with her other daughters. Has any other girl in Presidential history became pregnant. The Pastor of our old church wanted us to teach our children about abstinence. He sounded like a fool. I would not chance my daughters future to such idiotic talk. Yet his daughter had several abortions.
Don’t vote for this ticket just because a woman is on it. Sara P. conservative views are dangerous towards women.
#160. Your pastor is no fool. I’ve seen teenagers who were HIV positive as well as a ton of other sexually transmitted diseases that were not prevented by a condom. It is at these moments when you would have to agree your pastor is no fool but smart!
@126
“Sarah is the most popular. Move over Obama ‘cos you are now irrelevant.
People Obama cover flopped. Clear indication that the mini van majority has not taken to him and most possibly this is a hint on how he will fare in November.
Hillary 2012″
Hey hon - you might want to check your stupid self. Hillary Clinton does not support Sarah Palin. The two are polar opposites. One has experience in the senate of an incredibly populous state, while the other has experience as a mayor of 9K people and a state with a population of roughly 600K.
Sarah Palin has a record of backpedaling, scandal, and other such things. For the people who talk about William Ayres, Obama was 8 YEARS OLD when Ayres did what he did. Additionally, Rezko doesn’t mean jack - we’re not merely choosing a president on the partnerships that they hold. We go off of records and the issues - and if anything, the way that Sarah Palin does things, she’s going to destroy things for all women, and, in addition, likely leave your darling Hillary unable to run.
The reason that people are putting Bristol into these debates is because you cannot tell people in this country that “Your **** stinks, and I am to change it,” meanwhile your own daughter’s **** is just as rank. She was irresponsible when it came to her own sexuality. That is nothing to be championed just because she’s a pretty white girl from Alaska that decided to keep her baby. These things happen all the time in poorer communities of color - but those same people who champion Bristol are the same ones to condemn the poorer Americans. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
The truth is that if you at least run for National Senate and make it as a senator, you are more than qualified enough to run as PotUS. Senators, at times, can hold more power than the president because they can override him. In fact, they can impeach the president.
Also, if we want to talk about Jeremiah Wright and Fr. Michael Phleger, let us not forget Pastor John Hagee and his comments in regards to the Holocaust and Hilter - which is many times more offensive than talking about something that actually happens to PoC EVERY DAY OF OUR LIVES. It’s one thing to say something that people just don’t want to hear that has a ring of truth to it. It’s something else to say something that is completely off base.
Sarah Palin was not vetted, the GOP came in and scrubbed her wikipedia clean as well as God Knows what the hell else, she talks about others keeping their legs closed and can’t keep her own daughter from going out and spreading her own, she has Jerry Springer-style scandals to her name, she has ended one brand of corruption to insert in her own, and yet, people are amazed by her but are appalled by Obama - who has a much cleaner slate?
You guys are freaking kidding me.
And you, #126, are voting AGAINST Hillary when you vote for Sarah Palin and are voting against the interests of women and yourself. Just because Sarah Palin has a ****** does not mean that she’s a good leader on the issues AT ALL. But this is why some people tend to this that women are stupid and gullible when it comes to voting - just like McCain did when he picked this woman.
@135
“Of the four of them (McCain, Obama, Palin and Biden), Palin is the only one with executive experience.”
Yes. Because being a governor is far more relevant than being a national senator. Meanwhile, pigs are flying.
How are you defining executive experience, because Joe Biden has THIRTY YEARS OF IT.
“Abortion is a very important issue. Where was his good judgement recently. To the question “when does life begin,” McCain answered, “At conception.” Obama danced around it, and finally said, “…….that’s above my pay grade.”
Because the idea that life begins at conception is presumptuous. A blastocyst/zygote/embryo/fetus is a parasite that has to live off of the host - it’s mother. Up until the later terms, it is IMPOSSIBLE for a baby to sustain it’s own life outside of it’s mother. I myself measure life at the point where a baby can sustain itself when it’s out of the womb. If anything, McCain is arguing an opinion against another, not an established scientific fact.
You haven’t said anything yet that makes sense, Orchid.

You are so right . They can only win by cheating and it’s hypocritical to go to third world nations and monitor cheating when republicans are doing it here at home.
That was a great speech!
Im not a political person, nor do I follow politics, but I have to say, that I feel weird about this woman. She seems unexperienced and all over the place- she’s for educating abstinence. Are you friggin crazy. Politics start at home. If you dont feel comfortable teaching children all sides of something (sex), then you got a lot to learn! I guess this mama is for obama
I saw her wearing hooker-heels on Perezhilton blog.
I think people will see through Palin’s lies. I think Carl Rove wrote the speech for her. She’s really low class to stoop so low and to be so disrespectful to Obama and Biden. She has no class. Her lies will catch up with her, GOD willing! Her and McCain don’t have a chance in hell to win this election. The republicans have been in contol for the last 8 years and they’re really done good for this country, haven’t they. They’ve had there chance and they’ve proved they can’t run a country…they know nothing about the economy and McCain made a terrible mistake choosing Palin especially having not vetted her at all. What a bad choice.
I did not watch the republican convention because I’m tired of being lied to by a self-serving party. I need to surround myself with truth not people that have ruined this economy and want me the voter to vote for them again.
Poor McSame, he trotted out the most vicious, vapid, Far Right excuse for a VP he could find and her attacks went nowhere. The both think GW / Cheney did and are still doing a great job. Case closed. Oh, and don’t forget for a moment the fact that they will both make damn sure the Supreme Court finally swings to the Right, ie: bye bye Roe v Wade. Truly a scary duo.

Matt:
SARAH PALIN DOES NOT HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE THAN OBAMA.
Me:
Of the four of them (McCain, Obama, Palin and Biden), Palin is the only one with executive experience.
You:
How are you defining executive experience, because Joe Biden has THIRTY YEARS OF IT.
She was a mayor of a small town, and is now governor of Alaska. That means being in charge of people and a budget. The others have only been senators.
Matt:
What Obama has that McCain lacks is the JUDGEMENT on all important issues.
Me:
Abortion is a very important issue. Where was his good judgement recently. To the question “when does life begin,” McCain answered, “At conception.” Obama danced around it, and finally said, “…….that’s above my pay grade.” Please explain that!
You:
Because the idea that life begins at conception is presumptuous. A blastocyst/zygote/embryo/fetus is a parasite that has to live off of the host - it’s mother. If anything, McCain is arguing an opinion against another, not an established scientific fact.
I see you can’t read! I’m not arguing when life begins!
At the Saddlebac k Forum, Pastor Warren asked both of them, separately, when does life begin, in their opinion.
McCain answered the question. Obama didn’t. All he managed to say was that it was ‘above his pay grade.’ I WAS WONDERING WHAT THAT MEANT.
Since Matt said Obama has JUDGEMENT on all important issues, why didn’t he answer. Isn’t this an important issue?
Btw, what is your usual name? Why hide behind ‘A.?’
I have voted Repbllican most of my adult life and I’m 60. It amazes me that the Republican’s think that this woman iscapable of runing the united states. She can’t even keep track of a 17 yr old. I raised 3 kids and none got pregnant, none got DWI and none did drugs, why because I did my job that I signed up for when I had my kids.
Sarha was for the bridge to nowhere and no against it. I would not have my baby Downs syndrom or not out like that. All we will hear going forward is “POW” and Downs Syndrom” I want to hear how we will improve our economy and for some reason this group choses to attach instead of saying what they will do. Why do we allow this kind of politics.
As an pro choice independent, I was once on the fence. However, after listening to the media play out their messiah (Obama) and looking at his record, and looking at all the lies the democrats have been telling. I am now definitely voting McCain-Palin.
Thr hypocrisy of the left is out there for every one to see. The examples are numerous:
1. Al Gore and his preaching on Global warming and how we should all cut back on our carbon foot prints . Meamwhile he jets around and lets his airconditioned limo idle outside convention halls when he’s inside talkin. His home alone - talk about a carbon foot print. HYPOCRSY.
Global warming itself - despite no scientific backup.
2. The left so against the war, yet Clinton, Kerry and Gore all said Saddam was a threat and had WMDs. A republican president does something about it and flip flop. HYPOCRISY
The left comes off as being for the down trodden, the underprivliged. Yet need I remind you it was a republican president who freed the slaves. It was republicans who appointed 2 African Americans into the supreme court. Liberal democrats are not the friends of African Americans or women for that matter.
The irony of Obama giving his speech on the date that Martin Luther King gave his I have a Dream speech. MLK was a registered republican. Who also happened to be pro-life.
http://www.nationalblackrepublicans.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=pages.DYK-Why%20MLK%20was%20a%20Republican
Palin is being smeered by the left for being a woman who stands up to the good ‘ol boy network. Now the left is hypocritically attacking her because her 17 year old daughter is pregnant. Wasn’t Obama’s motther also pregnant at 17? Talking to your child about abstinence does not mean you don’t talk birth control as well. Any parent knows you can only guide your child and hope they choose well. Yet they will smear her.
AndsShe doesn’t preach creationism, she believes it should be taught in school alongside evolution in order to open it up to debate. Darwin himself was a deeply religious man who believed in God.
Regardless the left and the MSM (mainstream media) controlled by the left will continue to smear her, but truth will win out. Know your history people.
Ther will be a woman in the white house one day, and it won’t be the democratsd who put one there, it will be a republican.
Apologize for typos in previous posts. Me four year old boy spilled grape juice all over my keyboard and no matter how many times I have cleaned it, it still causes errors. Time for a new keyboard. But I suppose you all got the gist from my ealier posting.
Please lets elevate ourselves from the bashing. Elections should not be based on emotions and how attractive one looks or talks. Unfortunately the public is lazy and easily swayed by such things. Read up on your history. Do the research and the facts are all there.
For example regarding the war and WMDs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i87cZ3Og6ts
The lefts rallyioning cry: There were no WMDs. No need to go to war.
We did find plenty of yellow cake there. Was it reported in the main stream media. No.
Read up folks.
You demented LIBS have lost your minds. Obama is a complete ZERO. Gov. Palin is going to be the BEST VP we have ever had. Is Obama the best you could come up with? Will his wife still be proud of America when he loses the election? If you want to pay higher taxes, go ahead and send the IRS all your ******* paycheck. Oh, thats right, quite a few of you idoits don’t even pay taxes anyway.
A Dem said this morning that the scariest words in the English language are ” Vice President Palin”……….
I’m more afraid of the words “President Obama”……..
I think it’s so hypocritical of this woman to be against sex ed, especially when her own daughter was stupid enough to get pregnant at 17
This woman is an embarrassment and a disaster! She preaches family, who’s there for her kids, she preaches pro-life with a 17 year old pregnant daughter – why weren’t you monitoring you teen – where were you Sarah – 17 year olds and younger need those talks on why they shouldn’t yet be parents – BEFORE they get pregnant. Or maybe she got pregnant to get out of that house! You preach that there will be an advocate for parents with children of special needs – yet
you don’t advocate health care! Not all people have your healthcare or have the extra $ in their towns from YOUR special interests. You are a liar and you only care about yourself!
Sorry 162 you don’t know my X pastor. He left his wife for another woman and was sleeping with some of his congregation. But hey maybe he used a condom. It’s sad but true.
The mag cover from US Weekly proves beyond a doubt, that contrary to the name of the other organization….the MEDIA DOESN’T REALLY MATTER.
I don’t understand where she is going to find the time to care for four kids plus one with special needs that needs even more of her time. Is it really that important to run a country when your kids need you. I feel really bad for her kids plus the baby. Her kids need her and they should come first not the campaign look her 17 year old daughter is preganant , people keep saying oh things happen and they happen in every family, I say thats BS and someone in that household isn’t doing their job and paying enough attention to the kids. I have no clue why she is governor or why McCain chose her to be vice president. What if something happens to McCain she is going to be our President I do not want her for a president I am sorry. I think its ridiculous that she keeps having all these kids and wants this career that requires so much of her time how can she be a good mother. I think Sarah is just as irresponsible as her daughter. Now can’t people see why kind of person she is she puts her career before her kids and we want her as out Vice president What is this world coming too?? Also she is a consdervative republic. I don’t think soo. I am voting for Obama. I don’t like Mccain and I don’t like SArah at all ..
And yes it is her fault her 17 year old is preganant because up until 18 your kid is still your responsibility and while SArah is out trying to heighten her career, Her underage daughter is at her boyfriend ’s house alone. And it amazes me that she deserves to be even considered for Vice President.
Reform? Prosperity? Peace? Damn those republicans when all they want to do is be there right in front of the conflict. Opening a new front in Georgia to confront Russia? Yah, open a new front and spread your army too thin, I will see that the US will be humiliated once they start all the wars in the world. They did not even won the war in Afghanistan, what more in Iraq. What more, as Palin said, US will confront Russia. Oh come on.
If americans will vote for another Republican term, then I don’t know if Americans are just dumb or just blind. Yah, instead of opening up, you will be closing up to other countries like Iran. Just pathetic.
