Sarah Palin: Babies, Lies & Scandal

Sarah Palin: Babies, Lies & Scandal

John McCain’s vice presidential running mate, Sarah Palin, takes this week’s cover of Us Weekly, along with newborn Trig, afflicted with Down syndrome. The mag talks about her firm stance on antiabortion (even in cases of rape) and her opposition to sex-education classes (she believes in abstinence instruction for teens).

Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor, recently spoke about the vetting of Palin with CNN. He sang praises of Palin, saying, “She’s got the domestic experience, and she’s got the judgment. And she’s got what John McCain, I know, finds very attractive, which is a real independent spirit and a person who can produce results.”

Barack Obama is not ready. Barack Obama’s never run a city, never run a state, never run an agency, never run a business, never made a payroll, has never really negotiated, which is why he makes so many mistakes on how to negotiate. You know, negotiate without preconditions, that’s absurd.

“Based on what I know, she was thoroughly vetted. I think John knew her, knew what she accomplished in Alaska, a lot of it has been an open book. I think the issues that are coming out now, all the ones that I have heard so far, are ones that he knew in advance, talked to her about it on Friday. And, he has confidence — this is after all the main criteria of getting selected as vice president, the presidential candidate has to have confidence that you’ve got what he needs to accomplish the job.”

haha you can see the crazy in here face…
OBAMA ‘08!

The Republican party: the hand that keeps giving! Keep talking till the election, and they won’t know what hit them on their empty heads.

And Sarah Palin must be a crazy Nazi.

If Obama is too young the this Sarah is young. So if McCain dies she would also be too young to run the white house. It will look like a zoo just like her own household.

to all you complaining about Obama’s lack of experience thinking McCain is the way to go, have you stopped to think about how Obama actually has people around him that are experienced in the areas he’s weak in? So we’ll be fine. And Biden can step in for Obama no problem and our country will still be fine. Either way we’re fine. NOW think about if something happens to cancerous 72 year old McCain, does he have someone experienced to step in? No he has Sarah Palin, a woman who was mayor of a small town in alaska of 6,000 people, that’s the equivalent of an elementary school folks. THINK ABOUT IT. We’re screwed then. If Obama’s in office either way we’re fine because he has a strong administration of people around him that aid him in the foreign policy affairs he’s weak in. If McCain’s elected and something happens to the 72 year old, who has had 4 cancers, then we’re screwed there is no adequate back up. It doesnt work both ways in this case.

Obama is the safest choice if you actually think about it. Mccain made his ticket very risky. Obama has adequate help and aid and advisors.

Let’s focus on change. Not more of the same. You people actually want to CONTINUE what the Republican party has been doing to us the past 8 years? No wonder other countries hate us. Under Obama we have stronger allies, better reputation, better opportunties for working class.

First come baby, then comes marriage, then comes Bristol with the hypocritical no abortion message! Yeah!!!

I agree with #26 ObamaFan.

Besides, I find it funny that in the article it is mentions “her opposition to sex-education classes (she believes in abstinence instruction for teens).” Uh huh, just look at her daughter. She clearly didn’t know how to have safe sex and definately was not practising abstinence since she is knocked up.

I know Obama keeps saying that he can change this country, but can somebody give me (and I am being totally serious here) one way that he says he’s going to do this? So far all I’ve heard is that we need a change, but that is easy for anybody to say. How is he going to do it?

US weekly hadssunk to a whole new low, Now how about a cover with a similar headline “Lies and Scandals” and lets talk about Ayers, Rev. Wright, Father Flager, Tony Resko, Joe Biden’s son that is being indited in federal court, should I go on…
WHERE IS THAT COVER????

MCCAIN/PALIN 2008!!!

Nicole, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Obama has not been in office for 200 days, he was in the Illinois Senate for 8 or 9 years and has been in the US Senate since 2004 (You know it doesn’t hurt to get your news by sources other than Fox News, You guys really need to stop using the same talking points.) By the way, all of the things he said Barack didn’t do..run a city, run a state, blah, blah, blah. Neither has McCain. McCain has never held a job in the private sector. Ever. And for frig’s sake, she was the mayor of a town of less than 8,000 people and left the city 20 million in debt. And as governor, she’s now under investigation for corruption. Vote for her positions on issues, like wanting rape victims to carry the children of rapists or the fact that she doesn’t believe in evolution, or a host of other issues. However, she is not a hero because her daughter got knocked up and she’s not a hero because she kept a baby that wasn’t perfect. That suggestion is beyond insulting and it is a moot point because abortion was never an option for Palin because she’s pro-life, so move on.

Be a big boy or girl - google it. Do research. Call his campaign office. Go to his blog. His plans are allpublished on his website. he has made it clear in his speeches. Do the work and you will find out what his plans. I did research on both sides which is why I am voting Obama. It is up to YOU as an American to do your homework if the speeches, caucuses, etc were not enough info for you.

Well Michelle most families that I know are like the Obamas or at least aspire to be. You see that’s why we go to college or not and get jobs before we start families. Since, when is teenage pregnancy to be glorified? I don’t say that the Palins should be vilified, but it is a little disturbing to hear people congratulating a family because their daughter got pregnant and she’s going to keep the baby. Doesn’t that happen everyday? I see girls at the mall all the time and I don’t know many people who go up to their parents and say “good job.” If this was anyone else (like Jamie Lynn) we’d be asking where were her parents, but the Palins’ escape any scrutiny because it’s private. And you can bet that if this was a Democrat’s daughter instead of a Republican, Hannity, O’Reilly, and the rest of the wing nuts would be raising h*ll. Republicans are engaging in a lot of hypocrisy about this issue and I’m glad to see so many people on this board and others pointing that out. And, if I had a child with down syndrome I think it would irk me that people are acting like she took a leper into her home. For Christ’s sake, he’s her child. No one is guaranteed a perfect child and she doesn’t get credit because she, a married woman, kept her “defective” child.

Anyone else notice that every picture, after the initial one with Sarah Palin holding the baby, that the oldest (pregnant, Bristol) is holding the infant?

Why does it seem that the oldest daughter has been religated to taking care of him?

I have yet to see the Father holding the boy.

Plus - Do they ever believe in letting that young infant boy having some peace and quiet? Does he have to be at every rally under the sun?

Sarah Palin - Stop parading your kids around like they are campaign pieces.

Shouldn’t the youngest child, who happens to have downsydrome, be at home in a bed?

Nice choice of words for family values, Republican party, “Life happens.”

Nice way to show America that it is alright to not be present in your children’s lives and that it is ok to allow your child to get pregnant.

Nice example for the Republican Party to put the pregnant daughter and the Father of the unborn child on display at the Republican Convention!

The Republican Party does not want anyone to delve into the family business of someone who put their family business in the public eye, while displaying them like political pieces?

exactly. The Republicans are embarassed so they try to put their political spin on things spinning it as if we should congratulate the teenage daughter for getting pregnant and keeping the baby. No family is perfect, but don’t put your political agenda on this!

And for all the talk of Obama’s lack of experience, I got news for you: McCain has NO executive experience whatsoever. He has no clue on how to manage our economy which is the number one concern among americans. Obama has strategy and he has people around him that are well versed in the areas that he is weaker in. McCain does not have people that will make up for his lack of experience, he has an Alaskan governor, who’s previous experience was a mayor of a small Alaskan town the size of an elementary school.

McCain has no strategy except George Bush’s and took on Palin, a stranger who he doesn’t even know after ONE meeting, making spontaneous, irrational decisions, with his temperament and unreliablity there is no way he will be able to lead this country and if something happens to him she certainly can’t. Atleast Obama is extremely cautious with his plans and decisions and has people around him to make up for the areas he lacks experience in. McCain just wants to play Maverick when he wants to and praise Bush’s “correct economic policy” are you kidding me? OBAMA

The only talk they have to have about Obama is him being “young and inexperienced”. He has been successful passing more legislation than McCain has! McCain has NO executive experience whatsoever! No clue how to deal with economy, which is the number 1 concern of americans!

Obama atleast has people around him well versed in foreign policy. McCain is irrational with his decisions wants to be the maverick and at the same time praise George Bush for his wonderful economic decisions!

The inexperience thing is all you have to drum on about regarding Obama, BUT they used the same thing with the even younger Bill Clinton, Reagan and Kennedy during their elections and they are three of the greatest president’s we’ve ever had!

sleeping Giant @ 09/03/2008 at 12:32 am

McCain should have chosen Huckabee. I’ve said it and I’ll say it again.
Huckabee for VP! Palin is a traitor. She was a member of secessionist party AIP. Her husband was a member till 2002. How can she defend and uphold the constitution if she had any misgivings?

Why does Sarah Palin hates America??? come on conservatives. You guys can do better than this!!

MIKE HUCKABEE FOR VP!!!

Republicanjustdon'tget it @ 09/03/2008 at 12:40 am

you republicans who say experience is so important just shot yourselves in the foot by adding her to the ticket. P.S. Alaska is hardly a representation of what America is really like…as far as I’m concerned AL is in a bubble. And Believe me if this happened to Biden’s daughter the GOP would be on him like white on rice. Obama will kill McCain in the debates.. the man is smart this guy made himself something from nothing poor kid made it to the top of his class in Harvard. I’ll take my chances on him any day of the week. The republican party is in shambles listen to Ron Paul and go back to your roots…your party is run by a bunch of neo-conservatives (hypocrites at best). this country will fall further down the crapper if mccain is elected.

She’s scary - she’s got crazy eyes or something.

eddie jones @ 09/03/2008 at 12:52 am

Jared your being very biased here. I don’t recall this site going after Obama throughout all his scandals. I don’t recall seeing articles about his church or his land deals with felons. Come on now Jared, what’s this site turning into, a democratic party launching pad?

If the rumors were that you are not the 4 month old babies mother- instead of throwing her daughter underneath the bus, she should have done the following

1) Get 5-10 reputable journalist in a room (no cameras, cell phones allowed)
2) Release her medical records for a limited amount of time (Birth Certificate, Medical documentation, amniocentesis report, ultrasound- whatever is necessary to counter those rumors)
3) Let those journalist go on tv, internet, blog and dispel those nasty rumors

AND BE DONE WITH IT- IT IS EXTRA- GHETTO TO SAY- BRISTOL CAN’T BE THE MOTHER OF THE 4 MONTH OLD- SHE’S FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry folks, that is some extra ghetto *********************

US magazine is owned by Obama donor and supporter Jan Wenner, the owner of Rolling Stone Magazine…the democrats will do anything to try to win…

djn @ 09/03/2008 at 12:58 am

Looks like Palin will do anything to win, DJN, and that is real talk!!!

39 melissa @ 09/02/2008 at 11:20 pm

the mayor of a city of 8000 people??
oh yea.
plentyyyy of experience.
——-
I heard on TV that of the four of them (McCain, Obama, Palin, Biden) Palin is the only one with executive experience!

Sarah looks crazy! Just like Bush and the other Republicans…….

# 9 lisa @ 09/02/2008 at 10:51 pm

wtf?!?!?! she doesnt believe in teaching sex ed..?? no wonder her ****** daughter got pregant!
——-
Unfortunately, according to a survey, kids start sex when they are about 14. Many teenagers get pregnant, whether they have had sex ed or not, whether their parents are Republicans or Democrats.

anonymous @ 09/03/2008 at 1:08 am

US voter @ 09/02/2008 at 11:03 pm Yeah it makes me nervous to have someone (Obama) as president who’s only been in his office for less than 200 days before he ran for president.

That being said, I don’t agree with a lot of Palin’s views.
************************
You ARE A LIAR.Obama has been a US senator for over four years, and before that he was a state senator for 8 years
####################

Correction. Obama was a part time Illinois state Senator for 7 years. He was in the US Senate for less than 2 years when he started his run for the presidency. He has barely been a presence in the US Senate. He completely neglected his job as Chair of the European Subcommittee. In fact, the most significant experience he has at anything is campaigning for president.

Obama is not ready to be president. His lack of experience is much more troubling to me than hers as vice-president. She at least has shown real political courage in standing uo to her own party big wigs and to big oil companies. I think McCain saw himself himself in her. A real maverick unafraid to stand up to the staus quo.

The choices this year leave me angry and disappointed.
