The first reviews are in from last nigiht’s two-hour premiere of the much-buzzed-about 90210. Check it.

I am a mother of a teenage parent and thought about watching this show with my teenager because the original 90210 had some good story lines and messages. Thank god I didnt. I am writting a letter to the CW to have this show taken off the air. It is on at 8:00 and it starts off with a girl in a car giving a guy a ********, then a girl comes late for class because she has an appointmnet with her gynecologist. The kids are in clubs drinking. What has our society turned into. I was so upset after watching this last night. What kind of message are we sending our kids.
ok. i was so pumped for this to work and i am hoping for the best. it was way too jammed packed for a premeire…they really need to pace themselves. i like the little jokes thrown in for the fans of the old show but i had one huge problem, why are they starving the chick who plays silver and shanae grimes? i have watched shanae for years and she looks mad unhealthy. btw, naiomi looks 40 and KELLEN LUTZ (george) needs a bigger part and hooray for the return of boozy jackie! alas, not as good as gossip girl.
I thought the characters were a little fake and cheesy… Annie is just a little too much into everything and too many emotions over everything that it feels unnatural the others look a little “wannabe”. The story lines are the usual and miss a little realness and authenticity. But other than that, it’s entertainment for teens and nothing more.
Words cannot describe how HORRIBLE this show turned out to be. From the predictable plots and subpar wardrobe (forever 21 much) this show tuned out to be a lame knock-off! Haven’t we seen enough classic fish out of water stories (The O.C., GG, the original 90210). The only difference is that this show features no original ideas whatsoever!! Atleast Gossip Girl’s script is witty (and the wardrobe amazing) and the O.C.’s pilot episode was solid….NEW WRITERS PLEASE!!!!
I thought it sucked. It was a major eye-roller. The first two minutes they are basically showing oral sex–so not necessary. He could have been caught kissing another girl, and the point would have been made. Gossip Girl, is better, yes, but the point is that this show seems to be trying to keep up and fails terribly. And the main girl with the curly hair looks at least 25.

Serviceable with potential to get better and better. As long as they write good storylines for the adult cast the show should be ok! The teen cast was mostly bland!
#75, it would be great if you could place yourself in the cast. Like I’d mentioned before…it was great to see that some of the members of the original cast were included…and I think the producers knew they had to do that. I’ll see how much more I will follow it…I don’t feel the distinction between the characters, nor do I have any empathy for their concerns…they lack the charisma of the older characters…that’s the problem with casting shows now days…the young actors have this old jaded look that makes them blend into the network…there is not a inkling of wanting to know them better. I hope this changes…and I don’t think they need to up the ante by making them more jaded…just get some good story lines in there…I watched the show and was a bit disappointed, but was happy to see the original characters…that made it worth the watch. Besides, maybe someone would hire me to be the costumer for the show, the ratings may be better…. = D

wow. this show sucked.
I thought it was terrible. It felt vapid and contrived. I love the original series and the new 90210 does not seem to have the same charm. I knew something was amiss when by the end of the 2 hour premiere I felt nothing for any of the characters and what happens to them. And the character of Ethan (who I think is supposed to be the new Dylan) is terrible. The guy can’t act, is not that cute and should have been one of the side line characters.Overall a really miss and Gossip Girl really is waaaaay better.
It was horrible - does not come close to the original.

I was a huge fan of the original 90210. I don’t think this one can hold a candle up to the original. This is a show that you cannot remake. There will only be one Brandon one Dylon and one Steve. I think if they were going to remake this then they should have reached out to Brandon, Dylon and brought them back on the show as well. I am glad that Brenda and Kelly are back but they are not enough. I mean in this Kelly has a kid ??? who is the father??? Then the part where the principal and Kelly knew each other in the past, they had a picture together? Who is he and where was he in the original? Exactly he wasnt. I dont think this show should have been remade and i will always stay true to the original show and characters. We miss all the original characters.

i just watched the first part of the premiere but it hasn’t gotten me excited to watch the rest. the characters are boring, they should have started to give the characters more life, i think they wanted to give the show glamour and stuff and forgot the characters..
Within the first 10 minutes, sex, drugs and bad language. Hmmm, interesting, Id say bring the rest of it out and this show is a hit.
Gossip Girl is still my #1!
GG has that urban feel that makes you connect with the characters but im sure 90210 will get that feel sooner than later.

The pilot was not that great. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. The producers should have left Beverly Hills, 90210 as it was. A remake was not necessary.
I mean, it was great to see orginal cast members. But, that was the only thing that excited me.
I heard plenty of cheesy remarks. This show is just a mixture of MEAN GIRLS, THE OC, GOSSIP GIRL, and such. There was nothing really special about the pilot.
I was disapointed, I thought it brought a shame to the original, Berverly Hills, 90210.
What would Aaron Spelling say about this?
I’ll definetly continue watching it, hoping it will get better.
Oh, and what is up with Tori Spelling being paid less than Doherty and Garth to appear in the show? I know she wasn’t exactly a lead, but her father did create it…

stop comparing, i like gossip girl and 90210, everyone thinks its a competition
I think it was pretty good as far as teen dramas go. MOST (not all) of the actors were pretty good looking, which is always a plus. I think that this show is going to turn into the new guilty pleasure. It’s going to be one of those shows that everyone watches, but doesn’t admit that they like it. I think that the character development is going to be interesting as well, and to see whose kid Sammy is. I wonder if it could be Brandon’s or Dyaln’s perhaps?? I’ll tune in, and admit to doing it!
Better than I expected (I expected it to suck). The female leads are excellent while the males are bland. The responsible-ness of the lead character is great and she is a terrific actress.
