Look, its the future ex son in law. (eye roll) Babies having babies and playing house is a lot easier when your mom is the governor and can extend her medical insurance to cover you. And by all means lets use her on stage as an example to other young girls and have another pregnancy pact inspired ala Juno and Jamie Lynn.

YIKES!!!

Most of these comments are so hypocritical. Why should Mrs. Palin stay home?? The children have a father, do they not?? Their father, by the way, quit his job so he could stay at home with his kids. Anyonw who thinks she should stay home just because she is a woman is a chauvinistic pig. Everyone thinks it’s okay for Obama to have a career and his children are very young. He is not home 24/7. This is turning out to be just like Hillary Clinton; the media and Obama supporters ragged her constantly about a shed tear, her clothes, the size of her calves . . . leave women alone. It’s not all about the hair and makeup. Men should take responsibility for their kids too. It’s not just about the mother. I cannot stand women haters. This just proves that the United States is filled with men (and silly women) who still adhere to the believe that women cannot do anything.

#19 …”I really don’t know where some of these people get their stupid rational for their comments”

I was thinking the same thing….. Especially about the HIP HOP Obama comment…. Says alot about YOU and your character.

Don’t dems feel stupid that they are comparing their President nominee with a Vice Presidential nominee on the other ticket and yours still comes up short, She is a first term Governor and he his a first term junior Senator ( most of which has been a campaign for President) She oversees 24,000 state employes, 14 statewide cabinet agencies, a 10 billion dollar budget and negotiated a 40 billion dollar pipeline that forced the oil company to pay for it without a penny from the tax payers, and 20% of American’s energy source while Obama oversees how many appearances he can get on the Oprah show and how many Hollywood parties he had to go to get Hollywood to support him instead of Clinton.

Miss Jenny - Obama is barely a second term senator and has a lot of experience NOT running a state. Sarah Palin has experience working in various levels of government dating back to 1992. Experience is not going to be your winning argument here against this woman; at least not if you’re pitting her against Barack Obama.

To “whatever” - you are bigoted idiot. Just stop. You misspelled his name on purpose to prompt research? Right. You misspelled his name because you’re an ignorant redneck.

I have no problem with Obama as a person - in a few years he might actually be ready for this job and might actually have a handle on what he ACTUALLY wants to do for America instead of giving us vague, pretty notions of things. Right now, I just don’t trust that he’s the right person. Sorry.

sad @ 09/03/2008 at 3:08 pm

“she should have thought about that before she accepted McCain’s offer…FAMILY COMES FIRST!!! But Palin wouldn’t know that!”

you have to understand that if the children of governor palin are fare game for democrats then the children/grand children of senator biden and the children of senator obama are fare game for republicans. i’m sure that you would be upset if we started attacking obama’s two little girls. but hey! if it happens just remember you democrats started it.

Republicans are such hypocrites. It was all fine and dandy when Obama was the brunt of much criticism. Why didn’t any of you defend him. Oh, I know why, because he’s a democrat. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, you all cry that the republican party is being victimised and feel that the media and the general public should “leave sarah alone”, or “leave sarah’s daughter alone.” But sarah electively put herself and consequently her family in the spotlight. Of course people are going to have something to say about an abstinence advocate’s daughter becoming pregnant out of wedlock. Also, her husband was or is a part of an organisation seeking alaska’s independence. Palin herself even spoke at one of their meetings. Had Obama done this, media outlets like faux news would have laballed him unpatriotic. And for those saying that they were democratic and are instead going republican. Whether you are being truthful or not, I say go right ahead. If you can so easily switch alliances after listening to men like lieberman, who himself has been ostracised from the democratic party over a year ago, then I suggest you permanently hand over your democratic card and never look back. And if mccain should be elected and this country collapses as a result of his inept ability to lead america and the american people, please do not complain. You have only yourselves to blame.

#42 what is you point?

Hillbilly trailer trash….

sorry number #11 I meant number 16 and also number 45.

Hey Tom! Democrats do NOT legislate the personal choices of women. Republicans want to appoint Supreme Court Judges who will. Sarah Palin slashed funds for pregant teens in her state by line-item veto. The document is available online. I guess if you’re a pregnant teen and your mother isn’t governor, you’re out of luck. The hypocrisy - not to mention lack of empathy - shocks me.

Also, John McCain filed for a marriage license with Cindy while still married to his first wife. He came home from the war to find his wife had lost 4 inches in her height due to a car accident and had gained weight. Yet both McCain & Palin want to LEGISLATE marriage to be between a man and a woman only.

Can you smell the hypocracy yet, Tom?

should have been there already @ 09/03/2008 at 4:32 pm

If they weren’t embarrassed and were in fact proud of their beautiful daughter and her future husband(his mother claiming they were planning on getting married at 17 years old..who in this day and age encourages that?!! RIDICULOUS!!) AND John McCain did already know.. then levi jean strauss would have been on the stage since day one and they wouldn’t have had Bristol holding the baby (or baby blankets, etc) like a human shield trying to bluff their way through the convention and campaign.

If you treat something like a dirty little secret then it is one.

I think thats what makes me mad as a republican. Yeah, your abstinence only program and family values speech to your daughter failed.. its hard to admit you failed to protect and educate your daughter to prevent her from a lot of future heart ache and growing up way too fast.. BUT if you chose to run for VP you know you will be held under a microscope and every decision scrutinized.. esp since no one knows who you are!! You know the media will pick up the story.. don’t hide or camouflage it..it looks dishonest for someone who stands for transparency.

I am disappointed in republicans and democrats alike. And now to roll him out.. the impregnator. Nice.

#10. I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that Mrs. Palin hasn’t been photographed holding her baby. Now I realize that I haven’t seen every picture of her, but the latest pics that have come out always show someone else holding the baby.

Another thing I don’t understand (and granted I don’t understand a lot of things) is why the pro-life community is making such a big deal about her decision to keep her son, when she knew he had Down’s Syndrome? I’m sure that there are pro-choice women out there that would not abort their child because the child was developmentaly disabled, even if they knew in advance, as Mrs. Palin did.

Just because someone is pro-choice doesn’t mean they will have an abortion if the child is conceived at an inconvient time of there is something wrong with the child. It just means, the woman wants and has the right to choose what happens to her body.

From what I’ve read Bristol’s boyfriend sounds like a foul mouthed jerk. I guess she likes the bad boys. Now that her un-married 17 year old daughter is pregnant, I would hope that Mrs. Palin will re-think the whole “no sex ed” stance. Clearly abstanence isn’t working for that family.

OH By the way, to “ROSE” SHE’s AMAZING because SHE IS!!! NO need to explain to you!!!!!

Oh I see number 54, you just don’t know. That’s okay, I understand the lock step some do.

Have a good one

Obama = Daily Kos = Smear Machine.

Top Democratic women strategists say as much as 30% of women Hillary will defect and vote for McCain/Palin in November.

They don’t care about her stance on abortion, they think sexism (that Barack played against Hillary in the primary) is far more important of an issue in this country.

Barack/Biden = All talk, no action…..they both just look like the same old tired politics.

UK, don’t feel bad about switching from Republican to Independent. Todd Palin will be waiting for you with open arms. You’ll have to fill him in on what being a Republican was like though, since it doesn’t look like he’s ever been one.

my great grandmother worked on all three of FDR’s presidential campaigns. my grandmother worked on his last campaign. they both worked on truman’s. my mother and grandmother both worked for both JFKand RFK. so like i come from a long history of democrats. but his person may be the first in her family to go against the mould. i”m one of those very angry hillary supporters and i have to tell you i’m so sick of the st obama this; st obama that. to put it bluntly; i will serioulsy consider voting for mcain unless i hear the following from obama;
1. a public apology to hillary and her supporters for the way he conducted his campaign.
2. an explanation as to why he did not choose hillary, or in her place another woman, as vice president; and yes for me this is a deal breaker.
3. a public promise that hillary will become secretary of state should he win.
if he doesn’t address those issues then i will ignore the idea of electing the first black president and vote for the man who has the experience and oh yes chose a woman as a running mate.

OMG… McCain looks like their GRANDFATHER…..

oil oil oil @ 09/03/2008 at 4:44 pm

Oh Big Daddy Palin quit his job to take care of the kids.. easy to do when you get a check for your stock in Alaskan oil drilling to the tune of about 50,000 a year. Easy money. And he will get an even larger check when they push through drilling in the preserve… it will not lower the price of gas or create more jobs but it will make the oil companies richer while destroying the environment.. yeah for republicans!!!!

Razorback @ 09/03/2008 at 4:44 pm

This is sad. Those are kids are being forced to marry each other because of their mother and you know that. THEY ARE ONLY 17. They have a whole life to live. Wow. What a joke.

You are so stupid. It’s already proven at from reports today that 54% of women are voting for Barack/Biden. They can see through McCain evil ways.

Like we all have said from the beginning; Women are not dumb when it comes to politics. They vote on issues not gender. Yeah, a lot of women would love to see a woman in oval office, but if they don’t represent their views, why vote for them. Women as well as minorities have struggled for so long for equal opportunity. Why throw that away just to see someone like them in office. This is the reason why women where so passionate about Hillary. Because she truly represented the modern day women. She was one bad (let me shut my mouth) women. I supported Hillary because I thought she was a better candidate. She lost. Oh well. Move on. This is America. Run again in 4 years.

But, McCain’s stupid move to place Palin on the ticket just because she was women to attract women voters just proved how is ignorant he is.

Here is a recent poll to default you claim. You are either a Republican pretending to be a Democrat or just some bitter person…

Check it out…

can't answer the question @ 09/03/2008 at 4:53 pm

I love how McCain claimed it was out of line and unacceptable to ask a Palin spokesperson to name one federal level decision or direction/order she gave as the leader of the Alaskan National Guard.. and they couldn’t come up with a single example. Nothing. Nada!

McCain is losing his ****!!! Opps.. there goes the Straight Talk Express.. he has closed the door.

Does anyone wonder why someone who used to court the media, drag them around on his bus and plane, talk even long after they had stopped recording or taping it SUDDENLY doesn’t want to talk?

Someone is getting a little to old to keep his stories straight. His age is showing. The maverick has lost his grip.

He should have been elected 12 years ago when he was at the top of his game but Bush/Rove pulled their under handed moves calling all those people and informing them in disguise as a poll that McCain had a black love child (which was BS (she is adopted) but VERY effective at eliminating him for the position) and now McCain has folded and caved in to the ultra conservatives and is using the same under handed tactics for his run.

Shame on you… I remember the real McCain, I voted for the real McCain in Phoenix, I saw the real McCain in action when he bucked the ultra conservatives… and you sir are unfortunately no long THE real McCain.
