Piper Palin Fixes Brother Trig’s Hair
Piper Palin, the 7-year-old daughter of Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin, licks her hand and applies a little spit shine to the soft head of younger brother Trig, 4 months.
The camera panned to Piper and Trig while Sarah gave her acceptance speech during the the Republican National Convention (RNC) at the Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday night in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I find this so cute to see, but also scary. isn’t a seven year old a bit to young to sit down wit a donw syndrome baby by herself? Its nice to do it on a couch at home with mom and dad sitting next to them. But here in a crowed where mom is trying to get votes?
i get a real nasty vibe of this woman. A great mother is not the first thing that comes out of my mind if i see stuff like this and read about the oldest. Even having a young baby at here age and wanting a big carrier, is a sign to me that you don’t have your priorities strait.

The whole family was there to support their mother. Why can’t people get it through their thick skulls that their presence was important. I really struggle with Cheetah’s comments. Cheetah , You used the description “sit down with a down syndrome baby” so that baby is just soooo different from another 4 month old? I too was a tad wide eyed when Dad handed the baby off to Piper but there are tons of friends, family and neighbors who are comfortable with letting their little babies be held by big sisters and brothers and I’m quite confident that the Palin family was keeping a good eye on little Trig. However, I don’t see why the baby having down syndrome makes such a difference. It’s comments like that that irritate me that democrats - who are all into tolerance and acceptance - seem to define that little baby more by a diagnosis then by his name or any other characteristic. It’s not like the baby is more fragile than another baby, esp. at that age. .
That is just about the sweetest, most heart-warming thing I’ve ever seen. To be certain, the Palin family is fresh, photogenic and full of domestic intrigue - so much so that they are taking attention away from the issues.
Mccain doesn’t want Americans to notice that the Republican platform is the most extreme we’ve ever seen — opposing stem cell research, denying a woman’s right to choose no matter what the circumstance, and continuing to spend $10 billion a month in Iraq. Plus, Palin doesn’t believe that global warming is man-made.

My boyfriend and I were watching the convention together, and we both went awww at the same time when she was rubbing his head. 1st explain to me, a hillary supporter, why he did not choose a woman for vice president; yes this is a deal breaker,
2nd apologize publically to hillary for the way he conducted his campaign against her.
3rd -guarantee that he will not now, or ever, negotiate with a terrorist state
4th -guarantee that hillary will be asked to become secretary of state.

Ok I have another question have any of you set around wondering when your spouse was coming home from a war we should have never been involved with in the first place. Watching the news everyday and everyday anoth casuality is reported over there in Iraq, Afghanstan, Kuwait etc and you wonder is that somebody know is that my spouse or friend and you do this constantly everyday for the 4-18 months worrying and wondering when the next batch of bad news is going to come along. I have. John Mccain knows what it is like to be a POW yet and the tolls war take on a family yet he thinks our troops should stay over there for some undetermined time draining our rmilitary resources and straining our military troops. At least Obama is giving some sort of a time line to the people this affects. If you never have been around the military or know anybody affliated with the military this information would not really effect you but it does for my community because military is the way of life for probably 75% of the people that live here. George Bush did nothing for the military and I feel Mccain will do exactly the same and like I said before maybe you have nothing to do with the miltiary so nothing that deals with the miltary directly effects you but I would rather take my chance on Obama if for nothing more than the small voice he has given to the military then on Mccain who has done nothing in my opinion for the miltirary.

it’s simple i’m convinced that mccain/palin will not negotiate with terrorists or a terrorist state. obama wants to negotitate with them. biden is not a woman; palin is -and for this girl that is a deal breaker right there. obama had the chance to give the vp job to a woman; any qualified woman in his party; and look who he chose. obama has said he’s going to raise taxes across the boards. not if i have anything to say about it. but most of all i’m sick and tired of hollywood celebrities using the democratic party to push their liberal agendas on the rest of us. if i have to vote for mccain/palin to put a stop to these celebrities i will.

I’m not from America and right now I really really don’t think I even want to be. This might sound racist but we have seen what comes from having “them” in power. Mostly corruption and well corruption and more corruption. Our future president, whom we have very little say in electing, [althoug we are able to vote we are simply in the minority], is up for corruption charges!
You just make damn sure who you vote for and don’t listen to campaign stories? Don’t you know by now that they just tell you what they want you to hear and then screw you over afterwards? It happened here and finally it seems that their own people are turning against them and demanding they be given their promised houses and electricity and whatever else they were promised ELEVEN years ago!!!! It wont’ do us any good though, they are still going to vote for them, and the full scale corruption will follow and drag everyone down with it. Zimbabwe is a goooood example, but I don’t suppose you’d know anything about that, seeing as nothing outside America even remotely really interests you except ofcource if its in the Middle East or Darfur or somewhere that some celebrities have made rather glamorous to be involved with. Wednesday night on “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O’Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
While Rove recently praised Palin’s experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine’s executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick “political.”
Then, after recent video of O’Reilly describing Bristol Palin’s pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears’ parents for her teenage pregnancy.
Finally, after showing video of **** Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime “the big boys” pick on Hillary, “she retreats behind the apron strings.”
“In **** Morris’ defense,” Stewart said, “he is a lying sack of sh*t.”

Mary (138) what has Mccain told you he was going to do for the country can somebody please tell me because when I posed my question earlier about what has Mccain/Palin said to convince you to vote for them and none of you are able to really answer that question. You either comeback with comments about what Obama is going to do or Mccain was smart enough to put a woman on his ticket. So, what it looks like to me is that you have no idea what Mccain/Palin are really going to for this country but neither one of them are Obama so therefore lets vote for them. You would vote for a woman just because she was a woman and no other reason that is a really smart way to go about voting (sarcasm).

I absolutely hate the expression “Trailer Trash”! I have seen plenty of trashy people living in all sorts of houses. Where you live and what you have DOES NOT decide who you are as a person. As for the clip, I don’t understand what is so gross about a beautiful child grooming her little brother, whom she loves. Some of you people got some problems. Whether or not you agree with Sarah Palin or not, you cannot deny the fact that she has a beautiful loving family. It is also obvious she has been a wonderful mother. Look how well mannered and nurturing her children are! I have seen the other daughters holding and loving on little trig as well.
I’m democrat and I will be voting Republican this time around. That vote has NOTHING to do with Palin or her children. I simply will not vote for a man who seems to be offended by the American Flag! understand this; obama HAD my vote until he said that he would negoitiate with the terrorists and said that he was going to raise taxes. when he made those two statements he lost me. and yes; a woman vice president is important to this former hillary supporter.
Im a democrat and voting for Obama/ Biden because i cant stand Sarah Palin plus her voice is so squeaky and annoying, I tried to watch her speech to see what she said, but Gosh is ger voice annoying. Trig Palin was born with Down syndrome. According to NADS (National Association for Down Syndrome) “Many children with Down syndrome have health complications beyond the usual childhood illnesses… [they] have a higher incidence of infection, respiratory, vision and hearing problems as well as thyroid and other medical conditions”.
Perhaps Trig Palin suffers from none of these ailments, but any infant’s high susceptibility to infection might be reason enough for the parents to avoid subjecting him to large crowds. Would it not have been wiser if baby Trig made his appearance in the convention hall via satellite from a hotel room in care of a family member or a baby-sitter?
Trig Palin is obviously a very quiet child. He does not scream or struggle the way other infants his age might have done. Down Syndrome genotype affects a toddler’s response threshold and intensity (1). Because of a muted response to stimuli, infants with Down syndrome can appear less volatile and fearful than other babies, and often exhibit less anxiety upon being separated from their mothers (1). Baby Trig’s inability to express the level of discomfort and anxiety he is experiencing seems to have made him an ideal political prop for his parents.
Governor Palin would like us to entrust her with the welfare of all the children in this country. Yet in caring for her own baby, she showed an alarming lack of judgment.

I personally don’t find a single adorable thing about that video. There are plenty of children who care deeply for their younger brothers and sisters; Piper is only getting all of this attention because she’s a show-off and has a famous mother.
You’re all going to say I’m just jealous, which I suppose has some truth to it since heaven forbid my mom let me hold a baby when I was 7 - or even now at 13. So now you’re going to say that I wouldn’t deserve it anyway, which I’m not going to deny. But all I’m going to say is that I would be absolutely mortified to be spat upon by an older sister if I were Trig.
