OlderJust Stand Up 2 Cancer - FIRST LOOK!
13 of the world’s most renowned female singers pose with song creators/producers LA Reid and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds at Fashion Rocks to sing “Just Stand Up!”, the worldwide charity single benefiting Stand Up 2 Cancer at Radio City Musical Hall in New York City on Friday.
Keyshia Cole, Leona Lewis, Fergie, Ciara, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Ashanti, Nicole Scherzinger and Natasha Bedingfield are all decked out in their black Stand Up To Cancer t-shirts.
All three major TV networks, NBC, ABC and CBS will create a roadblock at 8pm EST on Friday to broadcast the event. Hosts include Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Sheryl Crow, Charles Barkley and Melissa Etheridge.
“For the first time we can envision the possibility of stopping cancer in its tracks,” the group said in its mission statement. “But just when science is on the verge of giving us the breakthroughs that can end cancer, the will and the funding to do so are disappearing from the national agenda and from our collective consciousness.”

They are all great stars but I really think they could have gotten someone other than Miley for that spot. Her voice is not in the same field of talent as those other ladies. Don’t get me wrong it’s great she wants to help but her voice just doesn’t cut it. I feel sorry for the other ladies who are great singers and have gotten to be stars on the basis of their voices and hard work unlike Miley who is where she is because of Disney and her one hit wonder father. Not a hater. Just stating the facts.

84, Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge sing on the studio version. They didn’t sing it at the event because both were in LA and the performance was staged in NY….the one who really was missing was LeAnn Rimes. They added Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls to the live performance, though.

I love this song it and all of the female artist in the song and it such a inspring song and uplifing song that it almost makes it can to cry listening to it just stand up to cancer faces it head on that what the song it saying so touching and emtional .

i think that if anyone says miley is… and makes fun of her voices is just pathetic cause the only reason for this performance was to get ppl. to donate for a gr8 cause so it doesnt really matter how she performed or what she is, shes a role model for alot of ppl. and many ppl. look up to her, so leave her alone cause shes doing the right thing. and only Once your in her shoes can judge her.

first let me say that I love the song and what you are doing……what a powerful statement. Being a survivor of Breast cancer myself, I can relate to the words of this beautiful song. Having a positive attitude, lots of support and of course music all helped me get thru the tough days…..I am proud of each and every one of you of standing up to fight cancer!! Bravo!!
