The Daily - September 2008 issue Brad Pitt Lends Handwriting To Beauty Company’s New Eco-Friendly Product

New York, NY (CNS) - Brad Pitt is lending his handwriting for cosmetic company Kiehl’s newest eco-friendly body cleanser to benefit a charity.

The A-list star’s handwritten note will be featured on the bottle of Kiehl’s new Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser. Fans would have to be satisfied with just a note however, because the product will not feature anything else from the star, not even a picture for a campaign ad.

The cleanser is the first complete 100 percent eco-friendly product from the beauty company. One hundred of the net profits from its sales will benefit JPF Eco Systems, a foundation by Kiehl’s and Brad supporting global environmental initiatives. It will retail for $16.50 per bottle and is expected to raise at least $1 million for charity.

The Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser will be available in October

Brad Pitt’s First Green Homes Nearing Completion, Spared By Gustav

The official Make It Right NOLA site has updated their situation in regards to the impact of Hurricane Gustav, and it appears that their construction projects made it through largely unfazed.

“We will be visiting the Make It Right homes in the Lower Ninth Ward as soon as officials allow us back in the city,” the website states. “However, initial reports suggest that our homes, whether finished or under construction, are generally in good condition. We will continue to update you as soon as we have more information.”

Understandably, there are probably many anxious individuals participating in this program that are very worried about the state of the construction — especially because these will be the first real homes they’ve had in over three years.

According to OK! Magazine, Brad Pitt is making plans to return to New Orleans to evaulate his home and the project ASAP. Over on the Make It Right site, there are new photos of several of the green homes in various stages of completion. So far, six homes are almost done and ready for occupants. One common theme: They’re all raised to dampen the effects of flooding should the levees ever fail again.

Last year, the Toronto International Film Festival was all about the corrupting influence of power, the dark work of large forces usually unseen. So far this year, the films I’ve caught are focused on the opposite – not on the big players, but on the little guys. Not on the actors, but the acted upon. And no one knows anything.

In Burn After Reading, the new farce from the Coen brothers that brought Brad Pitt-mania to town last night, the CIA spooks, Russian ambassadors and corporate lawyers who might have headlined one of last year’s films are relegated to the sidelines. It’s a trio of knuckleheads and losers – Pitt, Frances McDormand and George Clooney – who are front and centre here. They don’t understand a single thing that’s happening around them, or even see the obvious things right under their noses, yet they blunder ahead with all-American energy and force. They provide an idiot’s eye view of politics and corruption that’s both funny (on the surface) and deeply disturbing (when you realize how typical they are).

He signed autographs for a long time on all manner of pics and posters, both Angelina’s and his, and get this - when he’d get to an angelina pic he’d lick his chops, and he even clutched his heart at one point at this hot pic of Angelina - and get this, groaned. The man GROANED, then said cheekily what are you trying to do to me. OMG the man is gone for his baby. lol Wowee.
