Leighton Meester’s Mom To Author Book
It was reported earlier that Gossip Girl hottie Leighton Meester was born in jail to mother, Connie Meester.
E! now reports that Connie is writing a memoir, although no publisher has been found yet. The book will travel through the rocky life of the Meester family, ranging from Connie’s time as a drug ring co-conspirator to suburban real estate agent and the raising of daughter Leighton.
According to Connie’s agent, Loch Powell, Ms. Meester began writing “3 to 4 years ago”.

Well if Leighton was okay with it then i see no harm done but if she isnt then her mom really shouldnt do it.

leigton is not poor, if her mother and family was a drug dealer they are RICH !!
It seems to me that they just want a piece of the cake. If my mom or dad did that to me I would of be so mad, that is just disrespectful.
I think its horrible her mother would be doing this to her daughter, taking advantage of her daughter’s success. Leighton is a good actress and doesnt need this.

B @ 09/06/2008 at 10:41 am according to the original article, leighton’s fine with the book being published but i have no idea how true this is. however i think it’s pretty ridiculous and ballsy of her mother to announce the book at this specific moment. even if she has been writing it for a few years now, it’s obvious that she is trying to use the current media attention her daughter is getting to up the prospective sales. at least wait a little longer until your daughters name weighs more than ‘blair waldorf’.
@love her: although i am immensely against this book being published, i think it ******* sucks how much you assume about leighton’s upbringing and her mother. did her parents make mistakes when they were younger? clearly. did she sit off the time in prison? yes, we know this now. but is she still involved in illegal activities? **** if we know. from all that i’ve heard of leighton growing up, she was nowhere near white trash, maybe slightly lower class, but that’s about was “trashy” as it gets. connie and doug meester tried to provide their children with a good surrounding to grow up in, so for you to just assume that leighton grew up in a trailer while her mum was out dealing drugs or whatever the **** you picture white trash to be, makes you just as bad as the people judging leighton by her mother’s doing.

All i have to say is, poor Leighton.
I don’t buy the mother’s agent’s claims that she started writing the book 3 to 4 years ago. Leighton wasn’t famous then and without her, there’s no way her mother would be able to publish a book since she’s a nobody.
If the book gets a publisher and people buy it , Leighton is going to be the reason why. I feel bad for her, first it comes out that her brother was accused of rape now it’s revealed that her mother was a criminal not to mention her mother is going to expolit her.
leighton is a great actor and i think her mom should rite the book if leighton agrees its their decision not ours.
i know for a fact connies mom didnt write any book 3-4 years ago…she was to busy being an alcoholic and stealing every check her daughter ever got in. The earliest she could have started was 2 years ago, and shes only doing it for the money, and Leighton is NOT ok with it…her mom just has power over her. connie has been a movie and tv show writer for years with no success what so ever….the ONLY money she has made is from the checks they have been coming in since 2003 up mostly from all her guest star roles and the tv show SURFACE. now shes prob raking in the gossip girl checks, now she wants to put out a book all her mess…good god
She doenst even like her mom, but her mom has a son ( leightons little half brother) so its not like leighton can break contact…plus Leighton supports her mom. put it this way, if leightons mom broke contact leighton would have NO ONE in her life. As messed up as connie is, its all leighton gots.
