Jordin Sparks (in Betsey Johnson) arrives at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The 18-year-old American Idol champ, who finished off her look with Nicole Khristine jewels (Rockstar Earrings and a Faith Ring), sat in the VIP section at the Chateau Marmont after the In Touch Weekly’s Icons and Idols after-party.
The 18-year-old singer spoke out against host Russell Brand for joking about the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings. She told the crowd, ‘I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut.”

What she said was not good. So she’s saying that everyone that doesn’t choose to wait until marriage is a ****? I think it was a really dumb comment.

I totally think jordin was being pissy. like it was a joke and just because people give up the panty right before marriage it doesn’t mean theyrr sl*** and personally I think its smart to have sex before marriage I don’t mean do it with everyone but damn, I mean you gotta check the engine before you buy the car…
I think that was really stupid of her to say. So I’m a **** if I don’t have a ******* ring? They sound like their crying! I really cant listen to their music cause it gives me the biggest ******* headache of life! And they really aren’t that good looking. They look like monkeys. Hey no one is perfect but really get off their dicks! This one girl told me that people are actually comparing them to the Beatles! I wanted to puke right there in front of her ******* face. I think it seems pretty rare that any of these people actually keep their vow to stay a virgin until married. so speaking out and lecturing others ends up making them look dumb in the end. they should just keep it all to themselves.
The Jonas Brothers will be S.haggin in no time, if not already. Their purity rings are just for show. Any remember the Britney ‘I’m a virgin’ Spears incident?

Bit.ch, needs some manners too. Just because normal people aren’t afraid of sex and out to prove something to the world, doesn’t give this little uppity nobody the right to be derogatory and insult 99% of the audience in front of her.
Trying to suppress your human nature or making grand statements of virtue and fabulous self-control just so that you can feel superior to people, is a self-defeating symptom of a large problem. Also, her use of the word “s.lut” is especially telling too, that’s probably what her parents called her the first time she asked where babies came from.

cb and alex, you’re right. They only wear those rings so they can mention it every five minutes. They want to be applauded for having the “self-control” and “convictions” the rest of the world is lacking. If they did it for the right reasons only people who wanted to f-u-c-k them would know about that “faith ring”.
I wear a purity ring, so I love them for that. The best part of the show was Jordin Sparks saying that.

I love JB and their purity rings too, but because they’re doing what they believe in not what someone else is telling them to. It’s okay to have a purity ring, and it’s okay to not have a purity ring. Geez.
RBrand. This is the worst host they ever had. why in the h@@@ did they pick him, a f###### foreigner. Using him for their political arena was so stupid too n u know most american teens won’t laugh or understand his humor. This spoiled the whole show. R they that hard up, they can’t find an american host? If this happens again, we won’t watch it for sure. its a crying shame. what in the hell the sponsors were thinking, 4get buying any of their stuff.

daisy I get British humor- like Benny Hill and Monty Python and I can assure you that Brand is not either of those two. I did not find him funny at all. He was struggling the whole night to come up with something.
i didnt like the black and pink dress made her look like she had thunder thighs. just wasnt right for her body.
the thing is a girl or boy does not have to wear a ring to not be a **** either.
