Jordin Sparks - MTV VMAs 2008
Jordin Sparks (in Betsey Johnson) arrives at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The 18-year-old American Idol champ, who finished off her look with Nicole Khristine jewels (Rockstar Earrings and a Faith Ring), sat in the VIP section at the Chateau Marmont after the In Touch Weekly’s Icons and Idols after-party.
The 18-year-old singer spoke out against host Russell Brand for joking about the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings. She told the crowd, ‘I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut.”

Brand was just joking, Jordin had to butt in with a smug sense of self-righteousness and change the joke into insults.

okay, so not european, british then. I’m just saying that Russell Brand is pretty famous in Britain, so he’s doing something right.. And maybe America’s just not ready for it..
Kudo’s to Jordin, that’s right sick up for what you believe in. Yes you are **** if you sleep around like Russell Brand is rumored to do. And everybody knows she was not trying to call everybody who is having sex ****, but you must admit there are some of those in this world. Jordin is still young she may have not chosen the right words to be politically correct, but I don’t think she was trying to be. You may not be a $lut, but you are sinning according to the Bible. No matter what is socially acceptable and what you think is out dates it is called fornication (sex outside of marriage) look it up.
