Jessica Alba: Declare Yourself!
Jessica Alba is quite literally silenced–with gags and masks stifling her voice as a citizen– in this new campaign entitled “Only You Can Silence yourself.” This is all part of Declare Yourself, the national nonpartisan, nonprofit youth voter initiative aimed at energizing young adults to register and vote in the 2008 election.
Alba said, “If you don’t register and vote and make a difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself.”
“I really don’t see the point in not registering to vote,” continued the 27-year-old Fantastic actress. “We sign up for MySpace pages and Facebook pages, and download music off the internet. The least people can do is register to vote online, actually making a difference in their world, not just making their lives a little bit cooler. It makes more sense to spend your time making a change in society—and it actually doesn’t take that much time! It takes more time to make a music playlist than it does to register to vote.”
As you may or may not know, Alba is voting for Obama-Biden.

I’m sooo sick of this jessica (don’t call me latina) alba!!!!
She doesn’t know anything about politics…half of all hollywood creeps don’t know why they are voting obama! Because they are mentally challeged …. and I guess they want to vote for NO experience!
She is such a stale face. She can’t even eject emotion into this picture.
ugh if only she would stay like that forever, we would never have to hear her idiotic comments about wanting a “brown baby” and wanting to be taken seriously.
she strikes me as someone who is only voting for Obama because everyone else is hollywood is. she doesn’t care about getting out the vote, she’s only being shocking to get attention because no one cares about her since she had her fugly baby.
The President is chosen beforehand, there is nothing voters can do about it. You think you live in a free country? Think again.
she is beautiful
alba,
it’s too bad people can’t vote to get you out of our faces…..for good. i think that could unite the dems and the republicans for a little while anyway.
i would prefer if ignorant people did not vote..unless you can make an informed and educated choice then dont vote.
voting really does matter ,as jaded and skeptical as i am just the fact that we have the right to vote is something to be proud of and should never be taken for granted…especially women ,there are so many amazing women who fought tirelessly and some who even were jailed or died for our right to vote so go out get the information you need and make a choice…
to just give up and say ” oh its rigged blah blah blah im not voting” is cowardly..if you REALLY believe that this country is not free then start a ******* revolution…its in the constitution that if our leaders have done so poorly it says the masses should rise up and kick them out! think it cant be done? well this country wouldnt even be here if it werent for people telling england to shove it.
Celebs want to make the RIGHT choice and vote for Obama because they live in this country just like the rest of us and they know how f****D up everything is. I think that ppl who vote for McCain have mental issues. What makes you think that McCain gives a d**n about this country? All that he cares about is power. Obama wants to give ppl choices, while McCain wants to strip that away. Who is he to tell us how to live our lives? I don’t need that old a$$ man and that psycho crazy b***h Palin trying to make this country worst.
I see people think Celebrities are dumb because they support Obama. Well you Republicans voted for the worst President in US History TWICE… What does that say about your intellegence & judgement?
Ever notice where all the top rated schools and universities of Higher Learning are located, Harvard, Yale, Berkely, Brown, Columbia, NYU, Princeton and the like all in Blue Democrat states or Democratic areas of the country.. Most Presidents regardless of party go to these schools because they are the best. They produce the smartest, brightest, intelligent individuals any where in the country. And they all are Liberal, democrat style schools.
The red states have fine institutes like Hillbilly university of Tennesee, or the school of the mentally challenged in Mobile, Alabama, or the Dallas Cowboys school of the art of tumbleweeds.. The only reason there is even a Republican party still left is; they realize their are still a high enough percentage of dummies that can be told anything to get their vote and put them in power.
Every Republican president doubles the National debt, goes to war, and has an absolute love affair with oil and everything to do with it. All while having the nerve to tell the red state retards that they are fiscally consertative and responsable. They are the apitome of the politics of fear and manipulation.
When red states get further in their education than GED’s and Vocational Trade schools there probably won’t ever be another Republican president in the future history of the country..
I agree some celebrities in Hollywoood aren’t the best and brightest the democrats have to offer but at least they were lucky enough to live in areas that are educated enough to help them with their choice.
I think IQ tests and creativity scales should be administered to voters in the South. An uninformed and unintellegent person should not be able to vote, it’s like entrusting the fate of our nation to the Jerry Springer Crowd or The American Idol fan. If we continue to do this in 25 more years we will be a country no more powerful than Kenya or Sudan. No matter how rich or powerful a country it cannot endure without a properly educated public..
Quit hating all of you jealous people with too much time on your hands..Jessica is a beautiful person inside and out and she is also very smart! She gets more of the inside scoop then all of you guys will ever dream of getting concerning politics..So, yes she has every right to vote and I know that she will with good intentions.
Why is it that people are dumb enough to think celebrities worth many millions of dollars, long since out of touch to the common people in America, have an opinion worth emulating with respect to the federal election.
I’m ashamed to see how much the US elections have become shallow entertainment on the world stage.
I don’t give a crap who you vote for so long as you’re not a moron and know WHY you’re voting as you are. If you’re voting as you are because of some popularity campaign or the word of someone no more qualified to have an opinion than yourself….you get discounted into the moron category.
For all the people who are sitting here saying that “o boo who registering to vote is not easy, are you serious, it takes 10 minutes. At least these people are attempting to make an effort to get people out there and vote. Get up off your asses, stop finding excuses not to vote (”o my voise isnt heard”, how in the hell would you know if you dont vote, idiot) and get it done. You dont have to be a middle class american (which I am am) to see how this country is going down the toilet, so how about we stop being a bunch of whiney americans and make an attempt to do something about it! And what does it matter if someone can act or not?? I cant act but I still feel my voice is valued, maybe not in Hollywood but to the people that I interact with on a daily basis. Adn why would you DECIDE not to vote?? Thats something dumb and naive if you ask me. And maybe if people stopped worrying about the fact that “o my vote wont count”, well guess what, if you round up all the people who CHOOSE not to vote for whatever idiotic reason, and get there ballads in, dont you think that wold make an impact, I certainly think it would. So why doesnt everyone get off people who are actually making an attempt to do something good.
Love this girl!!
this look good
