Jude Law is Dunhill Dapper
Jude Law is spotted out and about after leaving ex-wife Sadie Frost’s house in London on Wednesday.
The last two days, the 36-year-old English actor was seen filming a commercial for London-based fashion house, Dunhill.
Jude participated in the fashion shoot on the famous sand dunes of Ainsdale beach, near Southport. Check out the picture at LiverpoolDailyPost.co.uk.
Mr. Law has also been seen with a mystery brunette recently.

He is balding really bad.
He is still a great looking guy.
he IS balding, BUT i find him dead sexy
Still a hot guy, but that is about all…. I don’t care that much for him anymore.
Man he looks bad for 36! I’m 34 and look like I’m still in college.
Mmmm… I think he looks great. A bit tired perhaps but apparently it did get late the night before.. Thanks Jared :-D
God, if I happened to encounter him on the sidewalk, I’d grab him, drag him off into the underbrush, and do stuff to him. Then I’d let him go…promise…
I think he looks really good in some of the photos…the others are just catching him in between blinks and are not flattering. He is still very good looking IMO.
Love him!
lovely!!!!!!
Love Jude no matter what. He is still sexy to me
anyway he just got back from Afghanistan go get some rest
baby. I will read you a bedtime story.
Jude walking down street and keeping it real, while remaining sexy doing so.

If this is the second time I posted this I just had to say it twice
I love love him. He is beautiful inside and out.
Jude Law looks really hot, I love him so much.
Very sexy!
I feel bad for the guy. He has such amazing hair and to see him lose it everyday is very painful. I really hope he will not be bald in the next few years.
Yeah he really did have gorgeous hair and now it’s the way it is and the way he wants it for HIS head. Remember it’s his head, we are
only privileged to look at it and it looks wonderful. Other guys start
gretting wrinkly and developing skin problems and lose the sharp
clean lines of their facial contours. Jude looks better each year THe
raw material is wonderful and he is still the sexiest man around no
matter who they give the dumb awards too. Ask any woman (and some men too). Jude you inspire me to do so many things good and bad….Oh boy,,k That’s enough for tonight it’s late and that conjures up lots of things….
Againj thanks Jared. He ws at Sadie’s today because it’s Rudy’s
birthday - the big 6. THe kids are growing fast and beautiful too. The
story of Jude’s proessionalism in the face of bad weather is so typical
of him. THose who have worked with him all say the same thing - he
doesn’t complain and doesn’t get upset and understandfs he is there
to get a job done. No tantrums, no “I’m a big star, I don’t do this” he does what he kinows needs to be done and comes out looking perfect. What more could anyone ask for!.
For me, Jude Law is by far the sexiest man alive. With or without hair.
I wonder why he doesn’t go for more beautiful women. The brunette pictured with him does not suit him. Seems his taste in women do not match his sexinest and beauty. I know she probably has a nice personality.
I’ve been watching movies all my life. There’s is only 3 males actors that have ever captured my attention for a lengthy time.
No.1: Elvis Presley. I was about 10-12 years old. Eventhough, he was not a very good actor. I could watch him forever, he was so beautiful. I still watch some of his old shows and movies (when he was young and thin), and he still gives me goosebumps.
No. 2: Clint Eastwood, in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. As a teenager, I would dream about him.
From my teenage years (1979) to 2000. There wasn’t 1 actor that did it for me. Yes, many were handsome and good actors, but soon forgotten. There was something missing. No goosebumps. Until…
No. 3: Jude Law: The Talented Mr. Ripley
I rented that movie based on the fact that it was a psychological thriller and mystery. My type of movie. I knew of Matt Damon, and Gwyneth Palthrow, but didn’t have a clue about Jude Law. I remember the first scene I saw him in, on the beach. Goosebumps… galore.
It is rare to be so beautifull, sexy, great actor and downright intelligent when he speaks, all in one package.
I just wish he would do more movies.
Love you Jude
Sandra (Montreal, Canada)
Holy Crap, would you just look at that NECK?? raaaaaaahhhrrrrr!!
…..and then that sad/frustrated expression on his face. not raaahr. just tryin’ to take a walk, people. nothin’ to see here.

As I moved my body under
the watery sky
I saw you walking the roads
Harder
Are the line on your define
And I was wandering in my thoughts
Were you thinking about the faces
You saw in a place
Called Afganisthan
Had you been hearing the laughter
Of your own children
As you saw their tears running down
the pain that can not be washed away
and wished the laughter could be also
possessed by the children of war?
Or was it only flashes of lights
From those who lie
Draw the line deeper?
As I moved my body under
The watery sky
My thought was running
To reach the smile
That was there
A long time, a long while
And as desire was your company
I could not longer hold what was in me
I left my watery sky
And celebrated the day of recovery!
Thank you Jude, for breaking my writer block.
Now you know why I love you so dearly.
Without you, what shall I be?
SEXY!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jared!
Ciao Jude
He’s starting to look like Phil Collins.
I hate it when ‘pretty’ gets old.
@Anna: Yeah, I was just thinking that. As he passes strangers on the street they’ll all exclaim, “I can smell it in the air tonight, oh yeah”. Obviously referring to the stench of sweat and cheap liquor he seems to exude.
Balding or not balding, ageaing or not, if a man like this pass nearby you, your will turn your neck as the one from the exorcist’s girl to see him walking.
I’m with you, Sandra: ” It is rare to be so beautifull, sexy, great actor and downright intelligent man, all in one package”.
If a man like Jude, pass nearby you, you’d turn your head like the one of the exorcist’s girl (360º) to see him walking…
I’m with you Sanda, he’s a rarity of one.. a real man, with a vivid intelligence and a common sense wich is rare to find in such a tricky celebrity world..but as he said: ” I have no interest in celebrity whatsoever. If anything, I always cringe at it because it takes away from what I am, which is an actor who wants to be better and do better things”.
Jude, I love you, respect you and admire you more and more every day
..he is still good looking but the thinning hair spoil the image quite a bit…
I mean is it too hard to make a hair transplant…before long he will be needing it real bad ….. he is not one of those -very few- men who look good even bald
his hair line looks so weird! not that it’s his fault, but still… but nothing can beat that beautiful face!
VERY SEXY MAN ~ I LOVE HIM
If Jude passed nearby you, heads would be turned in a 360º angle to see him walking..he’s perfection and I agree totally with Sandra, his inner beauty and intelligence makes him more sexy if possible…
Sexy
The “mystery brunette” referred to in the link is obviously not with Jude…looks more like she’s with the big guy…trash media again trying to make something out of nothing. Even if he was with her, how does a being single guy dating make him a “playboy”? Wow, it’s really obvious how the British trash media hate him when they take dubious potshots like that.
Dulce: I know if I passed him on the street, I would just smile at him. It would be impossible for me not to smile at him, he has that contagious happy smile. Would he smile back at me???? Hmmm, who knows. Anyway, it won’t happen here in Montreal. Just dreaming
Sheryl: Ah, that makes sense. Why do they do this to him??? Envy, jealousy? The guy is single and sowing his wild oats he should have sown in his 20s, I say keep going Jude.
He will one day settle down when he finds the one. It is not easy to find true Love. It’s probably even more difficult for Jude, because of his beauty and status. I’m sure lots of women would want him for the wrong reasons… and he knows that.
I believe she will have to be quite his equal intellectually, seems to me just physical beauty might not be enough to keep Jude for long.
Just my opinion
Sandra
once a jude fan, always a jude fan. ♥
Sandra T # 36 :
lovely comments and a very intelligent perception, if you allow me to say, of course. i’m always trying and trying to find the right words to put here when you already mentioned .. thank you, sweet. :)
Sandra (my namesake, Sandy is my nickname) we even think alike totally but I think this time even if he dos fall for the physical first he will\ wait to see if there is enough behind the facade to make them want to join their souls together as well as their bodies. For that’s what true love is ,the further joining of two souls who become as one. It ’s a state of bliss and I fervently wish that he finds it in the not too distant future anf spends the rest of his life in the bliss it engenders because that is what he is looking for. OF course all the mundane but important things like truly caring for his children and being a real helpmeet and deciding whose career is the most important and remaining true to the ideals set up beforehand as the essetntial strengths of their marriage. And then that awful lonelines is gone and you come to know true happiness.
Whenever you see that unhappy look you know he’s come upon the
paparazzi. To have to live your life running from these creeps is
really horrible.
But he is indeed a rarity of one and if you want to see Jude looking
bald but beautiful , watch the earliest Charlie Rose interview, the
first one and the only person he interviewed that night was Jude. This
beautiful man who spoke so eloquently and was so charming and
intelligent obviously mesmerized him as he mesmerized so so many
Jude doesn’t want to play the usual Hollywood game he is not in
it for the money itself, he was recenly quoted as sayig he only needs
a little bit for the incidentals and money to send his children to good
schools and for the rest I think he is interested in variety, content and
the challenge of new and interesting roles and always the theatre, his
first love. See you in HAMLET Jude!
jude law fans are very loyal and protective of jude……his hairline is of no significance……if you love someone and they had an accident that altered their looks a wee bit would you stop loving them….then you really didn’t care…..we go beyond his physical beauty. this is a brilliant man. we see his responses in interviews, we read his comments and opinions and get to know him a little better with each video….if jude ages a little more than most hollywood hunks. he has his reasons…he’s not involved only in a career…that’s second in his life, please understand that jude’s main concern is for his three young children. truly an everyday father, not a sometime dad. he’s involved with three young children and their problems. acting is his second priority.he has the responsibilty of caring for them and nurturing them on an every day basis. which he shares with their mother. ….trust me this could put a wrinkle on anyone’s brow or put some gray in his hair….he doesn’t live the tabloid life and he tries in films and real life to play against his looks as much as he can….so while we swoon over his beauty we respect him as a human being even more.
Thanks Sara - When I see Jude, for some reason, words just flow.
Sandy: I agree with you. Physical beauty is what usually attracts us (mortals) at first.. but eventually substance will need to be real (if you are true to yourself).
For me true Love is letting go of the EGO, and embracing your SOUL.
Soulmaking, Yeah…
Here’s wishing Jude finds it when he’s ready.
Got to go
Was nice talking to you all
See you later
PS: I’m thinking of maybe going to London for vacation next summer and catching Jude’s Hamlet. Will probably be my only chance to ever see him in the flesh… We’ll see
sandra t,
i already have tickets and am really anticpating this….jude in tights….blonde. oh boy ,oh boy….that will be a sight for sore eyes.
Ciao, Jude?
Hello, Jude!!!
Jude is more than a beautiful man, much more.
Thanks, Jared!
Jude is gorgeous don’t care what his hairline is like. He is sexy and intelligent. Have seen him in the flesh in London Groucho club, he is divine!!!!
Evie; lucky you! I wish I could see him in person too - just once :-D
ONe of the reasons I’m going to London to see him in the flesh on
stage and off ,I hope. (my dream come true) THose tickets are resting
comfortably in a secret place and awaiting the eay they join my passport ad we fly to London (mhy favorite international city) to ee myh
favorite man. I feel like a bowl of jelly just melting away already, I envy
you Edie and I hope I can say the sake thing next year.
Evie: You are lucky indeed
Tell me something, if you will. Is the Groucho Club a top notch club in London where Celebrities hang out?
Is it for members only?
When seeing Jude there, is he accessible? Does he interact with (non-celebrities), or he’s surrounded by an entourage and sticks to his crowd only?
I’m asking cause if I were to go to London next year, it might be a nice place for a night out.
I’m from Canada. The only place I visited is the US, Paris, Lyon, and Joburg, South Africa.
How is London for tourists?
Thanks
Sandra
i can’t answer the questions about the Groucho club as when we were
]going to London every year or so on business I dont remember it but
we didn’t go to clubs to mucfh we did find the good restaurants and spent every night at the theatre. To me London was the best and we
saw a great deal of it with loal friends and relatives. I didn’t know that
some fifteen years later I would be interested in Jude or want to knoiw
about clubs but I knwe the better stores intimately and we never railed
to enjoy London no matter what the weather was. we srayed in a neighborhood right near Maida Vale, Swiss Cottage.
groucho is a private club.
evie, please tell us about your experience seeing jude. we eat these stories up…..
OMG - reading some of these comments makes me think that some of you aren’t safe to be out. Sandy talks as if she and Jude are really close friends, like he divulges all his secrets to her! Very disturbing when you consider she’s never even clapped eyes on him! I admire Jude and I only live down the road from him. He is one of ours - an English guy - and unless you are English and understand what it is to BE English, you don’t know what you’re talking about!! If he read your comments and I mean 99% of them, he wouldn’t be flattered, he would think you’re all nuts - we don’t do gushy and definitely not psycho gushy. If you notice, he never says that he ‘loves’ his fans - cos he don’t!!! His English psyche would make him totally uncomfortable with all that OTT deluded twaddle and he only tolerates red carpet events. I know and have seen him be quite rude to his ‘fans’ and not one of you actually know this guy but you talk like you do - your comments are cringe-worthy and very weird. Sorry! - but that’s how it is!
By the way the Groucho Club is a private members club (very expensive) and Jo Public wouldn’t have a cat in hell’s chance of getting over the threshold!
janeb,
now why would you want to burst the balloon of folks who are having such fun….it;’s like saying there is no father christmas to kids…..
i’m sure all his fans understand excactly what you are saying but to his fans it gives them pleasure to post these comments. they realise they don’t know jude. but as i said before it gives them pleasure. you don’t want to spoil that for them do you?
now i hope having fun isn’t against the LAW in england …….
Weeeeeel goood to have someone like you who know exactly wich side one`s bread is butered on janeb…OMG some of us aren’t safe to be out…eeeeek…but you are don`t you?????????????????????????????
I´ll give you one humble advice-don`t judge about people you don`t even know!!!
So Jane, in your opinion one has to be English to understand the English? I guess that would explain why you make no sense to me then.
No one here claims to know Jude - but quite a few know a lot about him. I’ve only heard about him being very polite to fans - when the fans didn’t come up to him when he was with his kids. No, he doesn’t like being a celebrity but I doubt he would dislike people liking him and that’s pretty much all what most of us do.
Oooops - appear to have stepped on a few toes - it’s fun to be controversial too Dolores, but I get what you’re saying, unlike elle’s comment which was completely incomprehensible - was that English? ‘you are don’t you??’ Sorry, not any English I, or any English people have spoken as far as I know. If you must use our language, could you at least speak it properly.
Anyway, there are always conflicting reports and opinions - it’s what makes the world a little more interesting. So, you see, Allegra that is why I say I have actually seen him give fans the brush off when he is without his children. Not heard, seen. Dont’ get me wrong, I like him and I too will be at Hamlet because I enjoy Shakespeare!! - Jude is a bonus. I just don’t pretend I am part of his inner circle or I understand him personally. But anything to get through the day I guess.
You’re all entitled to your opinion as am I!
O sorry you don`t understand my English so sorry for you…but one thing i can perfectly LOOOOOOL!!!
Um Leute zum beleidigen braucht man ein bischen Hirn…you see this is a second language wich i can perfectly..and this is my last comment to you i hope it was properly enough!!!
jane,
i appreciate your last comment. as they say…. that’s what makes horse races. … do enjoy hamlet.
whatever else, jude is a rarity of one….very handsome, very talented, and very nice from what his co workers say.
i did see jude on the set of my blueberry nights and the crew couldn’t say enough about him. they really thought he was wonderful..
on anothere note….some of jude’s fans are not english speaking so you have to make allowances for the way they express themselves. they do quite well under the circumstances.
again,i appreciate the contents of your last post it shows you’re made of good stuff.
Jane, that was kind of my point - I’ve only heard of him being “rude” to fans when he’s with his kids. I won’t call it rude though - I think he should be left alone when he’s with his kids. He’s entitled to his privacy. Other than that I’ve never, ever heard of him being rude to anyone so I can’t imagine he’d b rude to a polite fan. Also I don’t think I know of any Jude-fan that claims to be part of his innercircle ;-)
Congratulations on going to Hamlet - I’ve very much looking forward to it myself. Not just because of Jude but also because of Kenneth Branagh, another great Brit.
janet b,
You make some interesting points here. I enjoy watching Jude act, seeing him in photos, listening to him speak in interviews, but NEVER EVER would I act like I know what he is thinking or would I have the audacity to think I know what he should be doing in his life etc. etc.
It does bother me to read these interesting posts by people who obviously worship the ground that Jude walks upon. I try NOT to take my admiration and “love” for him to the level of absurdity or obsession beyond control. It is somewhat disturbing to me, HOWEVER I won’t go intentionally bursting their bubbles because obviously they need this fantasy world they live in as a pleasure in their lives. So, you might want to consider going easy on them. That said, you are right to say that you are entitled to your opinion.
Also, I think it is rude to comment on the level of one’s English fluency since it seems for many people who comment here English is not their native language.
I will also being going to see Hamlet next summer and while I will enjoy the performance and thoroughly enjoy seeing Jude at his finest, I will not be an annoying and obsessive fan trying anything to get his attention. I know I wouldn’t like that if I was famous, so I try to gauge my behavior based on that principle.
Oh dear elle, being English and speaking the international language of the world, you will appreciate that we don’t actually need to speak a second language. However, and forgive me if I am mistaken - German? Ohhhh Dear!!!!!! Can you please translate ‘Looooool’?? What is that?? Anyway, thank you Dolores, not trying to be offensive, but I do tend to stick up for the English nationality whenever I can as we are not really allowed to be in English in our country anymore and sometimes it feels like we are fighting for our own history and provenance. This is not a political site, so I won’t make it one and yes, you are right, I probably did not really appreciate that for some, English isn’t their first language and for that I apologise (to elle of course as well) Don’t mean it really, just stirring things up a bit. I I really admire all that Jude is doing re. Afganistan, I think that’s great and I like the fact that he shuns all the celebrity crap. He is way more than just an actor and I think he could, using his fame etc., contribute a lot more to the world. Music for Tomorrow was inspired as I love jazz. I hope he does more in that direction too! He has a beautiful face and I guess from what I read, he wants to be taken seriously in most aspects of his life and I think if he plugs away at his philanthropic projects, he will, eventually. Have enjoyed our exchanges tonight - even with elle!
ok, only because i’m not british or close to him or whatever, can’t i dream about him or love or admire him? i understand that you have your opinion, but please, i think you must know Jude so much more than us, don’t you? so, when you say: “Sandy talks as if she and Jude are really close friends” and then you say: “he never says that he ‘loves’ his fans - cos he don’t” it seems to me like you’re just contradicting yourself, my dear. think about it … or not.
Why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch over all this? I wouldn’t concern myself with any of it.
If you like Jude then that is fine. Some people take it to another level and that is their perogative.
Jude is a very handsome actor and my favorite actually, so I understand to a degree the need to obsess a little. I just don’t take it to that level that some do. That is their choice. not mine.
Hi Sara,
I think you are reading way too deep. I meant that he has never been reported, or has been heard saying, (as so many others do) ‘I love my fans’, or ‘I love you’ to his fans as far as I know. Others may know better. It’s just that ,as an English person I think it is quite unusual for another English person to express themselves in that way publicly unless they need the support. If there are other nationalities that know better than me, then so be it. And you must enjoy Jude, he is worth it!
Shea, voice of sanity!
Jane b,
I feel your comment about the “inner circle” thing is a wee bit of an exaggeration. But I completely understand how one could think a post like “God, if I happened to encounter him on the sidewalk, I’d grab him, drag him off into the underbrush, and do stuff to him. Then I’d let him go…promise…” would be over the top.
But here’s the thing…actually, a couple or 3 things…I feel 102% sure that Jude never sees these comments…so what I say, I don’t say for Jude’s benefit…I say it because, first of all, I think the guy is dang sexy (not hero worship)…and secondly, because it’s FUN…fun in the face of the reality that I’m 125% assured that I will never pass Jude on the street…I’m even more assured that if I did, I would NEVER drag him off anywhere, never approach, although I might say, “Hey, how’s it going?” in passing…and to be honest, try not to let myself get so giddy that I’d trip and fall or something as I walked by because, as I said, he’s just sexy and that gets to me. That’s truth. The other stuff is just good clean fun…trash talkin’…and I love it. And then…I move on about my business. It’s all good.
At least we’re not delusional enough to think we live down the street from him.
Yes, Sheryl, I think you can say 200% that Jude has way, way far better things to do than read these comments and I am pretty sure that there isn’t a single person on this site that thinks he does. I now realise that this site is simply a Jude Fest and any type of contrary comment isn’t really tolerated. So I will leave everyone to their fantasies and - enjoy!
Jane b,
“Yes, Sheryl, I think you can say 200% that Jude has way, way far better things to do than read these comments and I am pretty sure that there isn’t a single person on this site that thinks he does. I now don’t understand your attitude at all. I was simply being conversational (thought I was poking fun at myself, actually) by responding to your post with my personal feelings about your topic. Nothing in my post suggested that contrary comments were not tolerated. So I can only assume now that you are a person who wants to be pissed off for the sake of being pissed off. If I’m wrong, please enlighten me.
Well Jaine, i just didn’t like the way your thoughts were positioned. If you had said in a way little less rude I could understand and accept the fact that you have the right to give your opinion, but people were offended here. The name of a person was used in your comment, a person that i think doesn’t have absolutely nothing about what you believe or not. But unfortunately, as i know, this site is public.. so, say what you want to say and enjoy yourself.
Dear Nertz,
Bless!!! ‘Down the road’ -means in the same area or close too!! Which I do! People do live in north London you know - apart from Jude that is!! It’s not like Hollywood! Normal people can live a street away from an actor or well-known person! Many of the types of house that Jude lives in (i.e . Georgian) as one house, has been turned into flats with lots of people in. Jealousy is such an unattractive quality.
I was all set to anwer Jane B before and something came up - and
when I returned to the computer I found some of my friends had in a
sense risen to my deffense but certainly gotten the record straight, so
thank you all including you Jane - no hard feelings - I worked for a few
different British concerns in New York City and I understand the
buttoned up Englishman but I also found that when they let their hair
down in the poroverbial sense they can have as much fun as anyone
else and I have a feeling Jude does understand a lot of these emotional ladies (myself included) by now and where we are coming
from. My ideas all come from first person encounters whether in real
life or in print - it does build a picture after 5 or 6 years of observation.
It of course is my decision if I feel that I have to express this very
openly and nothing is stalkerish or would ever harm him or his
family. So if he accidentally read this or heard about it he would know
only the very best is wished for him and the hope that he finds the
happiness he seeks on his road of life.
I guess want I want to say is that: There are many whealthy people out there that are not celebrities… business, investments… are also whealthy people… (not celebrities)… Maybe not at Jude’s level , but once you have a certain amount of money and the interest is compounding every day, week, month and year, and accumulates very fast.
Anyway, I would not be going to that club to see Jude… mostly to experience something different in a different country…
So, Jude is a snob then, hey????
Sandra
Oh my goodness, since my last post there have been a few more and at 1.30 a.m. it’s getting a little difficult to think straight. Nothing is meant to be personal, because I don’t know any of you. It is quite correct to say that we British are buttoned up but give us a few drinks and of we go! Probably I have been a little brusque, but the posts have been fascinating from you all and very insightful. I don’t mean to cause offence. t’s so much more interesting to really get people’s deeper opinions than just ‘I love Jude’, cos I guess we all do, don’t we? Hope you all come to England some time - it really is a fantastic place - if you haven’t already that is - and that you all get to see Jude! Mind you, you can see him anywhere really - he is a global traveller!
Jane b, if honest insight is what you want, I’ll give you some…I feel like you’re just engaging in double talk. You didn’t want honesty….I gave you honesty and you responded rudely. So this one’s not buying your patronizing act. You never offended me in the least, not even your original post, and I thought talking to you might be interesting, but now I just think you’re rude and uninteresting.
Yees nertz, good point. i know that i don’t live in England, more precisely in London, but there’s something that i definitely know: dreams never cost anything and be his fan is always a pleasure and an honour to me. I love Jude ♥♥♥♥
Jude is a real looker and if you walked passed him on a street, sidewalk, or in a aisle at the store, you would stop for a moment and feel his warmth and sexiness that he exudes. Really, the only negative thing about him is he seems to be much of a player. I guess when you are single it’s time to mingle.
Jude was perfect in TALENTED MR. RIPLEY!
Jane B:
Welcome! You are like a breath of fresh air. I am so glad you are here. Keep posting!
Dear Jane B:
What is the difference between people who call celebrities with horrid names possible, or people who talks warmly and with love about celebrities? Are they both insane and delusional?
Then I choose the last one.
We - Jude’s fans - know exactly, that Jude is unreachable. He is up there, like a Sirius Star, the brightest Star ever for me, we admire him, we love him, and sometimes, just like what Sheryl said, talk trash about him. Because he is dang sexy.
Sandy “knows” a lot about him, because she has searched and collected a lot information about him. You don’t have to know a person “personally” to know about him. Even if you know somebody “personally” sometimes you just don’t know anything about him. That’s the point, we all think that we know someone. Do we really know them? Sometimes we don’t even know ourselves.
Jude is an actor (he hates to be called celebrity. Why I know that he hates that, because he says it , in one of his interviews). And he is a gentle and sensitive man (Why? Because he says some sentence, that can be interpreted that way).
He deserves to be admired in each and every special way. Because that’s what we are. Each and every one of us is a special person.
If we say what you might think “weird”, “bothered” or “disturbed” about Jude, it doesn;t mean that we are not safe to go outside and will “attack” every male living creature!
This is a gossip fan site, for a cry out loud! We can act a little bit crazy about a famous person.
And if you feel like you are being attack, because you think that you step some toes, may be it is wiser if you look where you are going!
@Elle, du brauchst nicht sich zu entschuldigen. Manche Leute brauchen harte Worte. Ich habe nie gedacht dass du das gemacht haben koenntest! Hehe, bravo, Maueschen!
Thank you Blackworm.
Sheryl - you got me wrong - I was speaking generally about the contrary comments, not about your comment, which was interesting and one of the few that seemed to pick up on my wavelength. I read it again and couldn’t see anything in it that would be regarded as rude! Was beginning to feel a bit like a fox in a hunt! Anyway, today is another day and for the record my comments were meant to be ‘tongue in cheek’ because as has been pointed out this sight is supposed to be for fun, but humour comes in many different forms Sometimes that can get lost in translation or just through the written media or maybe I just have a weird sense of humor - no-one is perfect! And as has also been pointed out - Jude is an actor - and therefore relies on a positive public persona, so he can be anyone he wants during interview. Can anyone really know an actor unless they really know him personally? Certainly he is under-rated as an actor - I think some of his choices haven’t showcased his real talent and in others, Ripley, Wilde, Sleuth (which by the way his acting was fantastic and displayed various sides of one character), also would have been a good training ground for Hamlet as it explored the themes of revenge, treachery etc. He’s passionate about his work and his projects I guess and so I think his performance in Hamlet will be particularly good. Disappointing that he keeps getting overlooked in the Oscar stakes. So you see, trying not be patronising, rude, contrary or insensitive!! But, it’s just no fun!
“If he read your comments and I mean 99% of them, he wouldn’t be flattered, he would think you’re all nuts - we don’t do gushy and definitely not psycho gushy.”
Sorry, you contradict yourself, Jane B….that’s not at all “tongue in cheek.” That’s a not-so-subtle affront on “99%” of poster comments, who are just having fun, as you assert in your post #78 being what we’re here for. So which is it? You still just come off as someone who came here wanting to ultimately claim that you stepped on a few toes, and very familiar at that, and not a breath of fresh air at all. And I’m not offended by any means by it…just sharing my own observation.
Jude is for the grown and sexy people.
I Love Him.
Thanks Jared .
So why Sheryl, if you are not bothered, are you still focusing on my alleged affrontery and analysing my posts? I don’t see anyone else’s comments being ‘analysed’. I finished my last post with some observations about Jude, which I thought this was what this site was about. Everyone can be contradictory. My first post was a purely personal reaction to some, but by no means all, of the comments and as the exchanges progressed and some reaction was engendered I moderated my tone and was a little mischievous admittedly, but I didn’t target any one person and slag them off as in calling them ‘rude and uninteresting’. My motivation to coming on the site was curiosity and to enter into a dialogue, not to ’step on toes’ that was a consequence not a motivation. Anyway, can we move on? In fact, thank you for spending the time in reading my comments - I am in the Jude Law camp (for want of a better phrase) and will continue to see his films and interviews, but this dialogue is over.
Anyway.. I think most of us like him quite a bit and would want to bother him if we ever did get lucky enough to see him in person.. I personally think I’d be to overwelmed that wouldn’t be able to say or do anything at all
Err. I meant that most of us wouldn’t want to bother him of course.. ;-)
Jane B, one doesn’t have to be bothered BY your comments nor engage in any in-depth analysis OF your comments to point out inconsistencies IN your comments…such as “My first post was a purely personal reaction to some, but by no means all, of the comments”……….except “99%” is way more than just “some”…
Just don’t insinuate yourself as the voice of sanity and reason when you can’t even get your own thoughts straight. And you certainly don’t have to tell me that the site is for fun…I’m always about the fun…nor that the site is for commenting on Jude…especially when you’re the one that came and diverted it from the fun, away from Jude, and onto your own feelings about the posters (and then want to turn it around as though the posters are attacking you).
I think I’ve seen you before.
my dear friends….don’t you think think enough time and effort has gone into this conversation….frankly i do understand where everybody’s coming from and i appreciate it…. but there is a hurricane in texas, there’s poverty and floods in haiti., people are starving. let’s put everything in it’s proper perspective…even jude wouldn’t like us arguing over him this much. after all he’s the ambassador for PEACE ONE DAY…….so let’s start early even’tho it’s not yet sept.21st….truce!!!!!
Agreed, Dolores. Let’s Dial it Down, people & get back to FUN!
Jane B had some interesting points, I thought. Shouldn’t we all be given the chance to express ourselves, even if what we say is unpopular? I hate to see a new poster sent off. Haven’t we had enough of that over at IMDb? Sheesh.
p.s. Hi Blackworm.
Hi purpleworm:
As usual, I agree with you. I think Jane B had some excellent points. And she should be allowed to express them. Others do not have to agree. But I hope Jane B has not left. I hope she continues to post her opinions here at JJ
Oh, good grief, not one single person has said that Jane B shouldn’t post what she wants. And I suspect nobody has been run off…and that she’s still here. If so, great…just quit playing people.
Anyway, all is well because MY TEAM WON TODAY!!! Woo-hoo!
Jude Law is HOT
“Posso não ser a maior fã, mas eu sei muito bem o que eu sinto por ele, e isso não vai mudar, pois para ser fã de verdade, não precisa ser desde o começo, mas tem que ir até o fim!” ♥
Jane B: You are English right???? Well, I’m French Canadian from Montreal. But I’m also fluently bilingual since birth.
How good is your English when you say: He don’t, He don’t , hmmm, it is :
He doesn’t
I do, I don’t ,
he does, he doesn’t
He doesn’t is the proper English, my dear.
If everyone in England is like you (snobby, arrogant and downright cold, and Grammer deficient to boot) , then I can say that I will be spending my bucks somewhere else. Paris instead. Alot more classy.
Yeah, the English are downright cold, with their stiff upper lip. Who needs that. The Hottest people on the planet are latin(french).
Well except for Jude that is. (Are you sure he’s a Brit????)
One last thing before I leave this site for good:
I sure hope you are not in charge of Jude’s fan club, cause in the end you would just about turn everyone against him.
Jude Law is a physically beautiful man with great intelligence and a gift for acting. He was born with that. That’s his.
However, without his fans what would happen. He would do these great projects and no one would show up to watch.
I doubt very much that Jude does all of this and doesn’t want anyone to admire it, except himself??? That’s silly.
I really don’t think you should speak for him. Example: He don’t like his fans, cause he don’t say it. (Why does he need to say it???)
.
Why should he? We know he does, why else would he be doing all those projects if there was no one else but himself to admire them? Just for the money, I don’t think so, he has too much passion.
The fact is, when actors out there are proclaiming constantly how much they are greatfull to their fans and how much they love them blah, blah, blah, that’s when you can smell the BS.
Jude Law probably doesn’t say he loves his fans, cause it’s obvious he does. Why would he need to say this, unless he’s insecure. That’s the reason I respect him and admire him. He doesn’t try to manipulate his fans with the typical Hollywood PR BS.
Anyway, I asked a simple question regarding the nightlife in London and the Groucho Club. Funny, I was told that since I’m Joe Public, forget about it. Hmmm, real funny. There are alot of Joe Public that are whealty and can definitely pay what is necessary.
Your arrogance is surreal. Hmm, might be cause the Pound is dropping like a rock against other currencies of the world and the value of housing in the UK is plummeting as much or more than the U.S.A. That some of your banks are going bankrupt (Northern Rock) and that your Oil Fields are also depleting. Which means England is getting poorer by the day, with everyone up to there eyeballs in debts.
I find you arrogant, and poor Jude to have you as a neighbooor.
I guess the real question is, why is Jude who is supposedly so whealthy living so close to Joe and Jane SixPack. That’s how we call the common folks here in North America.
I was commenting here regarding an actor that I admire and was asking questions regarding London, in case I decided to go there for vacation, maybe catching Hamlet (to see Jude in the flesh, instead of on screen), asking question re: the Groucho Club, where he hangs out.
I’m not a stalker. I was asking cause when you go to a new country it’s always good to know where the best places are. I’m a whealthy Canadian, so I would want to go to a whealthy part of London.
I felt like some of us were treated like we would stalk Jude in London. Maybe I’m wrong about that perception. But in the end, I don’t need this kind of stuff.
Hmmm, I’ll go to London if I want to whether Jane B likes it or not, but in the end, she probably represents what the English is all about. Alot of the English Celebs are downright nasty, we see them on the Canadian and U.S. Networks, they are certainly not any role model. Mostly ex alcoholics, rude and arrogant.
You know, Jane B, England should hold on to Jude Law, cause as I see it, you guys don’t have much to look forward too. Let’s see, I won’t name them, but there all drunks and drug addicts.
Jude is the best you have, you should cherish him.
Astalavista and take care everyone.
Don’t let this individual rain on your parade.
Sandra T (Montreal, Canada)
Thanks for the quick update on England Sandra T, i don’t think you should visit because you are very accurate in your discussion (we all have bad teeth as well) so your trip would only lead to disappointment. I suggest you spend your wealth elsewhere, Paris as you mentioned is lovely.
I think of a famous Canadian (Struggling) ummm……Celine Dion (boring) ah…..Pamela Anderson, she seems nice….
Now Jude Law….. seems like a pretty cool guy, has got the same jeans as me so i like him.
“I find you arrogant, and poor Jude to have you as a neighbooor.” [2]
Sorry, don’t want to be offensive, but you made me see how people can be soooo arrogant.
you talk as if you and jude were really best friends, brothers or something close to that .. are you?
For my humble people *
Sharing my dreams…
First thing i would do if i saw Jude? hmm .. let me think .. congratulate him for providing me with hours of entertainment .. so, i would tell this guy just how much time I’ve wasted on his addictive movies, and how much they’ve impacted my view on life .. then i could seduce him and make sweet sweet love to him. how perfect!!!!
♥
Wow, Sandra T. those are very interesting comments you make about England/The English and your own wealth. In fact I find YOUR post to be very rude and arrogant based on a couple of quotes I took from your post. Mind you these are not the only ones; just some of the more poignant comments:
“I’m a whealthy Canadian, so I would want to go to a whealthy part of London.”
“Alot of the English Celebs are downright nasty, we see them on the Canadian and U.S. Networks, they are certainly not any role model. Mostly ex alcoholics, rude and arrogant.”
“If everyone in England is like you (snobby, arrogant and downright cold, and Grammer deficient to boot) , then I can say that I will be spending my bucks somewhere else. Paris instead. Alot more classy.”
“You know, Jane B, England should hold on to Jude Law, cause as I see it, you guys don’t have much to look forward too. Let’s see, I won’t name them, but there all drunks and drug addicts. ”
“How good is your English when you say: He don’t, He don’t , hmmm, it is :
He doesn’t
I do, I don’t ,
he does, he doesn’t
He doesn’t is the proper English, my dear.”
For your information YOU have numerous spelling errors in your post, so I don’t think you should be commenting on someone else’s English and grammar. In fact no one here should comment on those things- it is irrelavant, but since you are so smug to call someone else out on this very subject, I feel it necessary to show that you are the pot calling the kettle black.
Hi, Mrs snobby, arrogant, nasty Brit here again!
Can I just say, for clarification, about the Groucho club that Jude frequents - about Joe Public not having any chance of getting in had nothing to do with money/wealth but to do with the membership procedure. You have to have two nominations on application which goes to a membership committee who decide whether or not to grant a person a membership. If you are lucky not to be blackballed, they will put you on the waiting list!! So,you see, unless you are a guest of a member, I am guessing that you could not just go to the door and obtain entry like any other club and Joe Public is not a derogatory term in England, it just means the general public and I shouldn’t think Jude had to worry himself with the membership procedure, it was probably a case of
Jude: “Can I join?”
Membership Secretary: “Absolutely - oooh we don’t need to worry about a little thing like completing forms - which night would you like to come?”
Thanks for the really nasty comments about my country (and Jude’s!) which I will put down to a hissy fit. I am sure a lot of Brits would agree we’re not having a great time right now, but we will turn things around I am sure. Meanwhile, does anyone know if Jude is making that film about King James? Great role for him. I think he will make a great James Bond too, being English ‘n’ all! Sorry - and all!
About the role as King James - who knows! I think it would be awesome if he did more costume roles (if that’s what they’re called). He does seem to have been away for quite a while - there was an article that claimed he shot scenes for the part in Greece. As for James Bond - I’d prefer him to play a villain personally. I also don’t think he would like to do the same role repeatedly but that’s just my impression obviously ;-)
When I think of all the time we’ve wasted fighting each other it’s too sad. and you know why? i just now realized that. and i just now realized that this conversation exceeded all limits, cause i’d love to do ‘friends’ here, and not enemies. i think all of us really should realize and take out from our conversation that we’re talking here about someone really fascinating and he deserves more, so much more from our minds. sorry again .. about my english.

Jane b, It’s you who talk as though you know him. You say “His English psyche would make him totally uncomfortable with all that OTT deluded twaddle”. So you think you know what the English psyche is? That is laughable. You do sound like a rude arrogant biotch.
I think you ALL are starting to sound like rude, arrogant biotches! enough already!
No. Jane b was insulting. She deserved a suitable response.
To those who think her comments are “a breath of fresh air”, I suggest you go to the morgue or the sewer. You’d enjoy the air there.
That’s interesting, Daphne. Because I think just the same. I read an article about Khufu (Cheops) Pyramid, and why they did not finish making the grave for the Pharaoh, it was simply that the “tunnel” was too deep, and the digger was lack of air, and they could not breath anymore.
That’s what I feel when I read the comment from Jane B. She is not only arrogant, but also insulting, and know-it-all kind of person that she thinks she knows much about a person she doesn’t know at all. Is it not a contradiction, simply because she accused Sandy the same. May be a good idea if she is not only looking where she is going, but also having a bigger mirror at home. So she could see everything more clearly before she left her home.
Because for some points, Sandra T is correct. The Economic Situation in England is not that shiny like some years ago. Even Sir Peter Burt, a former governor and chief executive of the Bank of Scotland, warned that the credit crunch and the rise in fuel costs were worse than the crisis of the 1970s and urged the Bank of England to make it clear it would guarantee deposits to make it clear that it would prevent a bank failure. (According to The Independent News Paper, dated 26 of August 2008).
But, it is not about England Economy what we are talking about. It is about Jude. And we some certain degree of admiration towards him.
If we defend, talk trash or declare our “loves” to him, it is simply because he gave so much joy to our lives, or at least to mine.
Jane B said that 99% of all the comment, and she wrote that at # 51, it means 49,5 comments were nut. Which 0,5 comment is the normal one? Number 3, perhaps?
“Still a hot guy, but that is about all…. I don’t care that much for him anymore. (Good VIctoria)”. Then, it has to be : Still a hot guy, but that is about all…..OR ….I don’t care that much for him anymore.
Wow, Jude must have been very flattered with that kind of comment. Considered only as a hot guy, and nothing more. Or that people less care about him. Flattered indeed!
And if what Jane B said was not insulting or disparaging or derogatory, than I did not what to call it.
Typo:
And if what Jane B said was not insulting or disparaging or derogatory, than I did not know what to call it.
Please. Let’s honour Jude’s work with POD and just ignore the negative. I’m pretty sure he’ll never read this but I doubt he’d like to see his fans fight on message boards! It doesn’t matter anyway. The economy is bad everywhere and I suspect you have to know Jude to really understand him, regardless of your nationality.
“And if what Jane B said was not insulting or disparaging or derogatory, than I did not what to call it.”
RIEN, that’s a really very good point. i totally agree.
I agree Jane b’s original comment was nasty and biting and it seemed she tried to back peddle her way out in later comments, HOWEVER….lets be fair now. If we are going to say SHE was rude, which she was, then we should point out all the rude derogatory comments made by other posters too. And NO I don’t say this to mean I think her comments are a breath of fresh air. I think that comment is ridiculous.
I happen to think Sandra T.’s comments were rude towards the English and derogatory in nature as well.
Why don’t people just take the higher road here? i agree with Allegra.
i implored you earlier on to of course state your opinions. all are valued but let’s keep jude’s site respectful and on a high plain…..he deserves that….
Own up……..which one of you did this,

#109,
(slowly raises hand)
Um…it was me…
In 1994, I saw keanu reeves In Hamlet. I flew to winnepeg from LA. Believeit or not he was great. I had serveral close encounters with him but I was too shy to speak. Winnepeg is a small city compared to London. But who knows maybe you’ll get a jude encounter. You can for sure can get an encounter and maybe autograph /picture at the backstage of the theatre before or after the the play. You’re going to love Hamlet its a great play. I am sure its going to be outstanding with Jude and Kenneth involved in the production. However make sure jude is performiong on the night you brought your ticket. I read there is a second English Actor performing too. I really envie all of you who going to see jude. Just can’t aford it!!
checkpoints before arriving at the palace. Strangely, I’m not nervous when I talk to the president, with Jeremy at my side. I expect a slower, dustier man but President Karzai is a livewire — he makes us laugh a lot, and twice dismisses politics as a bad career move. This from a man who must surely be in talks with more foreign representatives than any other leader today.
He’s particularly struck by the results of Peace Day in Afghanistan last year — when a ceasefire made it possible for so many children to be inoculated against polio. And he promises to make a TV appearance asking for the peace day to be recognised.
September 3
The entire city is hidden beneath blocks of cement, sheets of metal and rolls of wire. It’s as if its face, heart and soul are covered by a brutal crust. Every year, this city swallows up more cement, more stone, more metal. One day, it will need to be rebuilt.
At Kabul airport, I go to a garden for travellers — a place of peace and shade from the 40-degree heat. It looks out over the Hindu Kush mountain range, whose sharp silhouette surrounds the city. I came here at the start of my trip, too — it’s a great place to think before jumping into the energy of this complicated, punctured, exhilarating and terrifying place. And yet, this garden sits alongside a runway filled with Chinook and Black Hawk helicopters, a reminder of the country’s troubles. I sit for a while. For the first time since my arrival, I feel calm and at peace.
Jude Law is presenting a screening of The Day After Peace at the Peace One Day Celebration at the Albert Hall, London, next Sunday. Annie Lennox, Bryan Adams, John Legend and Peter Gabriel will perform live. For tickets, call 020 7589 8212. To buy a DVD of the film, go to http://www.peaceoneday.org .
All proceeds go towards raising awareness of Peace Day and promoting life-saving activities
Have your say
Brilliant, clearly observational, with a most believable passion
for the people and for humanity. Those of us who had faith in
Jude’s intelligence and empathy can sympathize and respond to his sensitive and clear observations of an exotic part of the world in distress that needs help and Peace.
Beautifully expressed rom the heart and the mind.
I inadvertently posted the second part before the first so here is the part that leads into Post #112.
Last year I became an ambassador for a non-political organisation whose chief aim is simply to promote one day a year of peace. Since the actor and film-maker Jeremy Gilley founded Peace One Day in 1999, the United Nations has unanimously agreed to designate every September 21 as Peace Day.
The idea of this day of global ceasefires and non-violence is gaining supporters all the time: in 2007, according to the UN, more than 100m people observed Peace Day in 192 countries.
Because of my own career in film, I’ve helped Jeremy make a documentary to raise awareness of Peace Day and all it represents. The heroes of this film, The Day After Peace, are the Afghans: by observing the ceasefire in their southern provinces last year, they enabled 1.4m children to be inoculated against polio that day. I have just visited Afghanistan for the second time — primarily to say thank you and give people a chance to see our film.
August 31, 2008, Delhi
I’m surprised that the queue for the Afghan air flight to Kabul is so normal. Two little Afghan boys are running around — I wonder how they feel about going home.
I can’t help wondering whether I should be a little more nervous. The plane’s clearly seen better days: I doubt anyone would want to blow it up but it could well fall out of the sky. As we approach it by bus, a man who’s with his two sons and wife, or mother — hard to tell as she’s wearing a full burqa — makes it plain he doesn’t like us taking photographs. No words are exchanged; there are just lots of meaningful looks from ice-blue eyes. An immediate reminder that we’re in new territory — and need to be cautious and respectful.
On the plane, it’s very hard to sleep. I’m thinking of the intensity of the work schedule ahead. And I know that however many gardens and safe houses we visit, we’ll be in a place of unpredictable, extreme violence.
Kabul, early afternoon
Driving through the streets with Jeremy Gilley and our two-man film crew — Dan and Rob — I register just how much larger the military presence is than last time I visited, a year ago. Machineguns everywhere. All the roadsides fortified with high concrete walls, topped with razor wire. And yet there’s the hustle and bustle of normal life: carts laden with produce, men on bicycles, young men selling cards on the street corners.
Since I was last here, things have got much worse. There’s been a rise in attacks, an increase in the number of insurgents — and more fatalities. There’s a palpable sense of tension.
Our first appointment is with Dr Mohamad Hanif Atmar, minister of education. When we met last year, he was very positive about using the Peace One Day education pack — with 17 lesson plans about peace — in all Afghan schools. This is yet to happen because it’s been a particularly terrible year for the schools — 600 closed after insurgent fires, many children and teachers killed, thousands of textbooks burnt. But there’s still hope, he says. We’re keen that he shows our documentary — The Day After Peace — to as many schools as possible. He agrees. He’s a very charismatic man, with an Alan Rickman air about him. Gives me an Afghan prayer painting and cloak, to “Afghanise” me, as he puts it.
On to Tolo TV, which has 40% of network viewing. With the rise in suicide bombings, everyone now stays in to watch television. Tolo is run by an Afghan-Australian family of three brothers and their sister from a series of town houses. Their main “studio” is an old front room lined with egg cartons for soundproofing. The need for positive news is great, so we give them our film, which they’ll dub into Dari and Pashto.
My own feeling is that the Afghans are incredibly resilient people — and we owe them so much, having helped to put them in their current situation. Before going to Afghanistan the first time, all I’d read about was the frontline, the numbers of western soldiers lost and the elements of society that were destructive or extremist. Yet I saw so much more — a lot of reconstruction and many reasons for hope, despite three generations of conflict.
Have dinner at Fatima Gailani’s house, the international spokeswoman for the Red Crescent, who played a huge part in last year’s Peace Day. We eat wonderfully, with traditional dancers and musicians entertaining us.
Fatima says she was minutes away from two of the most recent suicide bombs, and yet didn’t feel scared. It dawns on me that I haven’t felt any fear either since coming back. You can’t be scared, because then the opposition is winning. How dare anyone stop people seeing all of our planet, hearing all its sounds, tasting all its foods, learning from eye contact and conversation that we’re all alike?
Sitting on Fatima’s lawn, eating figs, listening to music under the stars, I get a sense of what life must have been like 30 years ago: intelligent conversat
what sandy posted is jude’s diary on his journey to afghanistan as an ambassador of peace one day. second time he’s made the trip. he really put himself in harms way.
That diary is so touching! So beautifully expressed. It brings to light the writer that’s in him.
