OMG - reading some of these comments makes me think that some of you aren’t safe to be out. Sandy talks as if she and Jude are really close friends, like he divulges all his secrets to her! Very disturbing when you consider she’s never even clapped eyes on him! I admire Jude and I only live down the road from him. He is one of ours - an English guy - and unless you are English and understand what it is to BE English, you don’t know what you’re talking about!! If he read your comments and I mean 99% of them, he wouldn’t be flattered, he would think you’re all nuts - we don’t do gushy and definitely not psycho gushy. If you notice, he never says that he ‘loves’ his fans - cos he don’t!!! His English psyche would make him totally uncomfortable with all that OTT deluded twaddle and he only tolerates red carpet events. I know and have seen him be quite rude to his ‘fans’ and not one of you actually know this guy but you talk like you do - your comments are cringe-worthy and very weird. Sorry! - but that’s how it is!

By the way the Groucho Club is a private members club (very expensive) and Jo Public wouldn’t have a cat in hell’s chance of getting over the threshold!

janeb,
now why would you want to burst the balloon of folks who are having such fun….it;’s like saying there is no father christmas to kids…..
i’m sure all his fans understand excactly what you are saying but to his fans it gives them pleasure to post these comments. they realise they don’t know jude. but as i said before it gives them pleasure. you don’t want to spoil that for them do you?
now i hope having fun isn’t against the LAW in england …….

Weeeeeel goood to have someone like you who know exactly wich side one`s bread is butered on janeb…OMG some of us aren’t safe to be out…eeeeek…but you are don`t you?????????????????????????????
I´ll give you one humble advice-don`t judge about people you don`t even know!!!

So Jane, in your opinion one has to be English to understand the English? I guess that would explain why you make no sense to me then.

No one here claims to know Jude - but quite a few know a lot about him. I’ve only heard about him being very polite to fans - when the fans didn’t come up to him when he was with his kids. No, he doesn’t like being a celebrity but I doubt he would dislike people liking him and that’s pretty much all what most of us do.

Oooops - appear to have stepped on a few toes - it’s fun to be controversial too Dolores, but I get what you’re saying, unlike elle’s comment which was completely incomprehensible - was that English? ‘you are don’t you??’ Sorry, not any English I, or any English people have spoken as far as I know. If you must use our language, could you at least speak it properly.

Anyway, there are always conflicting reports and opinions - it’s what makes the world a little more interesting. So, you see, Allegra that is why I say I have actually seen him give fans the brush off when he is without his children. Not heard, seen. Dont’ get me wrong, I like him and I too will be at Hamlet because I enjoy Shakespeare!! - Jude is a bonus. I just don’t pretend I am part of his inner circle or I understand him personally. But anything to get through the day I guess.

You’re all entitled to your opinion as am I!

O sorry you don`t understand my English so sorry for you…but one thing i can perfectly LOOOOOOL!!!
Um Leute zum beleidigen braucht man ein bischen Hirn…you see this is a second language wich i can perfectly..and this is my last comment to you i hope it was properly enough!!!

jane,
i appreciate your last comment. as they say…. that’s what makes horse races. … do enjoy hamlet.
whatever else, jude is a rarity of one….very handsome, very talented, and very nice from what his co workers say.
i did see jude on the set of my blueberry nights and the crew couldn’t say enough about him. they really thought he was wonderful..
on anothere note….some of jude’s fans are not english speaking so you have to make allowances for the way they express themselves. they do quite well under the circumstances.
again,i appreciate the contents of your last post it shows you’re made of good stuff.

Jane, that was kind of my point - I’ve only heard of him being “rude” to fans when he’s with his kids. I won’t call it rude though - I think he should be left alone when he’s with his kids. He’s entitled to his privacy. Other than that I’ve never, ever heard of him being rude to anyone so I can’t imagine he’d b rude to a polite fan. Also I don’t think I know of any Jude-fan that claims to be part of his innercircle ;-)

Congratulations on going to Hamlet - I’ve very much looking forward to it myself. Not just because of Jude but also because of Kenneth Branagh, another great Brit.

janet b,

You make some interesting points here. I enjoy watching Jude act, seeing him in photos, listening to him speak in interviews, but NEVER EVER would I act like I know what he is thinking or would I have the audacity to think I know what he should be doing in his life etc. etc.
It does bother me to read these interesting posts by people who obviously worship the ground that Jude walks upon. I try NOT to take my admiration and “love” for him to the level of absurdity or obsession beyond control. It is somewhat disturbing to me, HOWEVER I won’t go intentionally bursting their bubbles because obviously they need this fantasy world they live in as a pleasure in their lives. So, you might want to consider going easy on them. That said, you are right to say that you are entitled to your opinion.
Also, I think it is rude to comment on the level of one’s English fluency since it seems for many people who comment here English is not their native language.
I will also being going to see Hamlet next summer and while I will enjoy the performance and thoroughly enjoy seeing Jude at his finest, I will not be an annoying and obsessive fan trying anything to get his attention. I know I wouldn’t like that if I was famous, so I try to gauge my behavior based on that principle.

Oh dear elle, being English and speaking the international language of the world, you will appreciate that we don’t actually need to speak a second language. However, and forgive me if I am mistaken - German? Ohhhh Dear!!!!!! Can you please translate ‘Looooool’?? What is that?? Anyway, thank you Dolores, not trying to be offensive, but I do tend to stick up for the English nationality whenever I can as we are not really allowed to be in English in our country anymore and sometimes it feels like we are fighting for our own history and provenance. This is not a political site, so I won’t make it one and yes, you are right, I probably did not really appreciate that for some, English isn’t their first language and for that I apologise (to elle of course as well) Don’t mean it really, just stirring things up a bit. I I really admire all that Jude is doing re. Afganistan, I think that’s great and I like the fact that he shuns all the celebrity crap. He is way more than just an actor and I think he could, using his fame etc., contribute a lot more to the world. Music for Tomorrow was inspired as I love jazz. I hope he does more in that direction too! He has a beautiful face and I guess from what I read, he wants to be taken seriously in most aspects of his life and I think if he plugs away at his philanthropic projects, he will, eventually. Have enjoyed our exchanges tonight - even with elle!

ok, only because i’m not british or close to him or whatever, can’t i dream about him or love or admire him? i understand that you have your opinion, but please, i think you must know Jude so much more than us, don’t you? so, when you say: “Sandy talks as if she and Jude are really close friends” and then you say: “he never says that he ‘loves’ his fans - cos he don’t” it seems to me like you’re just contradicting yourself, my dear. think about it … or not.

Why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch over all this? I wouldn’t concern myself with any of it.

If you like Jude then that is fine. Some people take it to another level and that is their perogative.

Jude is a very handsome actor and my favorite actually, so I understand to a degree the need to obsess a little. I just don’t take it to that level that some do. That is their choice. not mine.

Hi Sara,

I think you are reading way too deep. I meant that he has never been reported, or has been heard saying, (as so many others do) ‘I love my fans’, or ‘I love you’ to his fans as far as I know. Others may know better. It’s just that ,as an English person I think it is quite unusual for another English person to express themselves in that way publicly unless they need the support. If there are other nationalities that know better than me, then so be it. And you must enjoy Jude, he is worth it!

Shea, voice of sanity!

Jane b,
I feel your comment about the “inner circle” thing is a wee bit of an exaggeration. But I completely understand how one could think a post like “God, if I happened to encounter him on the sidewalk, I’d grab him, drag him off into the underbrush, and do stuff to him. Then I’d let him go…promise…” would be over the top.

But here’s the thing…actually, a couple or 3 things…I feel 102% sure that Jude never sees these comments…so what I say, I don’t say for Jude’s benefit…I say it because, first of all, I think the guy is dang sexy (not hero worship)…and secondly, because it’s FUN…fun in the face of the reality that I’m 125% assured that I will never pass Jude on the street…I’m even more assured that if I did, I would NEVER drag him off anywhere, never approach, although I might say, “Hey, how’s it going?” in passing…and to be honest, try not to let myself get so giddy that I’d trip and fall or something as I walked by because, as I said, he’s just sexy and that gets to me. That’s truth. The other stuff is just good clean fun…trash talkin’…and I love it. And then…I move on about my business. It’s all good.

At least we’re not delusional enough to think we live down the street from him.

Yes, Sheryl, I think you can say 200% that Jude has way, way far better things to do than read these comments and I am pretty sure that there isn’t a single person on this site that thinks he does. I now realise that this site is simply a Jude Fest and any type of contrary comment isn’t really tolerated. So I will leave everyone to their fantasies and - enjoy!

I now don’t understand your attitude at all. I was simply being conversational (thought I was poking fun at myself, actually) by responding to your post with my personal feelings about your topic. Nothing in my post suggested that contrary comments were not tolerated. So I can only assume now that you are a person who wants to be pissed off for the sake of being pissed off. If I’m wrong, please enlighten me.

Well Jaine, i just didn’t like the way your thoughts were positioned. If you had said in a way little less rude I could understand and accept the fact that you have the right to give your opinion, but people were offended here. The name of a person was used in your comment, a person that i think doesn’t have absolutely nothing about what you believe or not. But unfortunately, as i know, this site is public.. so, say what you want to say and enjoy yourself.

Dear Nertz,

Bless!!! ‘Down the road’ -means in the same area or close too!! Which I do! People do live in north London you know - apart from Jude that is!! It’s not like Hollywood! Normal people can live a street away from an actor or well-known person! Many of the types of house that Jude lives in (i.e . Georgian) as one house, has been turned into flats with lots of people in. Jealousy is such an unattractive quality.

I was all set to anwer Jane B before and something came up - and
when I returned to the computer I found some of my friends had in a
sense risen to my deffense but certainly gotten the record straight, so
thank you all including you Jane - no hard feelings - I worked for a few
different British concerns in New York City and I understand the
buttoned up Englishman but I also found that when they let their hair
down in the poroverbial sense they can have as much fun as anyone
else and I have a feeling Jude does understand a lot of these emotional ladies (myself included) by now and where we are coming
from. My ideas all come from first person encounters whether in real
life or in print - it does build a picture after 5 or 6 years of observation.
It of course is my decision if I feel that I have to express this very
openly and nothing is stalkerish or would ever harm him or his
family. So if he accidentally read this or heard about it he would know
only the very best is wished for him and the hope that he finds the
happiness he seeks on his road of life.

I guess want I want to say is that: There are many whealthy people out there that are not celebrities… business, investments… are also whealthy people… (not celebrities)… Maybe not at Jude’s level , but once you have a certain amount of money and the interest is compounding every day, week, month and year, and accumulates very fast.

Anyway, I would not be going to that club to see Jude… mostly to experience something different in a different country…

So, Jude is a snob then, hey????

Sandra

Oh my goodness, since my last post there have been a few more and at 1.30 a.m. it’s getting a little difficult to think straight. Nothing is meant to be personal, because I don’t know any of you. It is quite correct to say that we British are buttoned up but give us a few drinks and of we go! Probably I have been a little brusque, but the posts have been fascinating from you all and very insightful. I don’t mean to cause offence. t’s so much more interesting to really get people’s deeper opinions than just ‘I love Jude’, cos I guess we all do, don’t we? Hope you all come to England some time - it really is a fantastic place - if you haven’t already that is - and that you all get to see Jude! Mind you, you can see him anywhere really - he is a global traveller!

Jane b, if honest insight is what you want, I’ll give you some…I feel like you’re just engaging in double talk. You didn’t want honesty….I gave you honesty and you responded rudely. So this one’s not buying your patronizing act. You never offended me in the least, not even your original post, and I thought talking to you might be interesting, but now I just think you’re rude and uninteresting.

Yees nertz, good point. i know that i don’t live in England, more precisely in London, but there’s something that i definitely know: dreams never cost anything and be his fan is always a pleasure and an honour to me. I love Jude ♥♥♥♥

Jude is a real looker and if you walked passed him on a street, sidewalk, or in a aisle at the store, you would stop for a moment and feel his warmth and sexiness that he exudes. Really, the only negative thing about him is he seems to be much of a player. I guess when you are single it’s time to mingle.

Jude was perfect in TALENTED MR. RIPLEY!
