Katie Holmes is living large, wearing Current/Elliott’s 1973 wide-leg jeans in a moment of rolled-up, skinny ones.

S has been rehearsing for her Broadway debut in the Arthur Miller play All My Sons. Joining Holmes are John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson. Schoenfeld Theater, 236 West 45th St. Opens Oct 16.

Why do I have to tell you where I get my info? LOL.
You don’t HAVE to tell me where you are getting you’re info, but you can’t blame me for asking how you know that tickets for AMS are not selling well when reputable sites have reported that they are. Personally, I will believe the reports from Variety rather than the anonymous sources that have been quoted in articles in the NY Post.
“reputable sites have reported that they are”

Reputable sites have reported that producers “say” they are. There’s a distinct difference.
the only reason people would notice her on a street is that huge bag.. What does it hold.. costume changes for the play?
The style that she is going for is not that bad, but she cant pull it off.. I cant place a finger on what is wrong but it doesnt look put together.. Hire a stylist .. Jen Rade
No he doesn’t, #77. He doesn’t care about comments about his height.
I’m young but not a highschooler, #79.
“Many in the know say…” eh, #80. I hate gullible tabloids readers like you.
Why would such a big movie star worry about his not being seen by himself at big events? I’m pretty sure he has before.
There’s nothing strange or even interesting about surprsing people at an event. They kept their romance quiet for a month and decided to go for a big opening. It worked. It was a hit.
I’m much simpler than that. Holmes is busy in NY while Cruise is busy tending to UA matters and his children in LA.
I’ll never get why people like #81 and others get so worked up about clothes.
I have, #85?
Whatever, #87 and #88. Better than calling him a ’slave’ or that Holmes treats her employees as subversives or some other idiocy.
I’m nowhere near that age and I don’t have a crush on Holmes, #89.
Holmes is a real star of the play too, #93. They’re hardly photographed and featured here because they’re simply not very famous.
There is no jinx. Do you honestly believe that this play would have done better or the same WITHOUT Holmes?
So you admit that the play IS selling but just not as well as expected, #97?
Thye could have tactfully said that ticket sales have been dispappointing and downplayed the weak presales (they’re not weak by the way), #94. I hate this excuse. When a source tries to debunk a rumor, they’re accused of trying to save face.
Ever considered that the trashy NY Post is the one that’s lying? They don’t exactly have the best track record now do they?
Because to be credible, you should be able to back up your argument, #101.
Right, #102.

Tickets aren’t selling well. They had moved the play to a larger theatre displacing another play that was doing well. They thought they would sell out. Well, big surprise to them, the tickets are selling much more poorly than expected. I believe MSNBC has said this and Variety has followed up.
You have only to go into Ticketmaster and search for tickets to the play. I was able to get front section/middle seats for two within two weeks of the play opening and front section/middle seats for four within four weeks. As a long time Broadway theatre goer–this is not good. Normally the front section tickets go first as they are the most in demand. Then the next most in demand section and on and on. To have a play like this not sell in the larger venue is going to be financially disasterous to the backers (which may be Tommy boy who knows?). They should have kept this play at the smaller venue. Or Katie should have chosen a play that would have showcased her limited talents much better than this one by Arthur Miller. This would not be a vehicle for a Broadway novice to start her theatre career in. I do not like Katie, but I do pity and feel totally sorry for her. The expectations from the backers and I’m sure in her mind, were that the play would perform much better and now things are bombing. Her acting skills aren’t that great, so there is the possibility she is going to bomb especially when up against the great broadway veterans Lithgow and Weist. I’ve seen both of them on Broadway and Katie is not in their class. She should have done what Amanda Peet did and choose something like Barefoot in the Park as her virgin theatre debut. People love that play and you’d have to be pretty bad for them to boo you off stage. She should have looked for a play that people love, surrounded herself with a great set, good solid actors and then debuted. To start her theatre debut in a literary giant’s serious play was probably a huge miscalculation on her part.
I completely agree, dancer. Excellent, insightful post.
With weeks and weeks of acting and voice lessons on the side, in addition to her play rehearsals, I don’t think she picked a role she can handle and should have played it safer as you said. Luckily she has such seasoned talent to back her up, but those actors also might just make her look much worse by comparison.
Well, big surprise to them, the tickets are selling much more poorly than expected. I believe MSNBC has said this and Variety has followed up.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
No Variety did not follow up. Variety has reported that ticket sales for All My Sons has been strong
Variety followed up that there were rumors of tickets not selling well. It’s right there in black and white in the very same article to which you refer. The article was about producers of the show trying to dispel the rumor.
So dancer is correct that they followed up.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Look at those jeans! She’s a complete dork.
Hey DANCER,……….I guess it dosen’t matter about anyones ticket sales prediction, because the final truth will be week to week, on how well the play is received………So, people can argue with you and the others ( LOL ), but the final outcome will be shortly down the road…….I hope they are wrong, because it would be such a terrible blow for EVERYONE involved…..Lithgow and Weist do not deserve that no matter HOW Katie is perceived and looked upon….Let’s hope for the best!
DANCER……….WISH I COULD GO WITH YOU…..LUCKY GIRL!!!!!!
More pics of her.
Please.
thanks in advance.
She acted better than the actress in TDK and has real chemistry with Christian Bale.
Why do people love her style so much? She always looks like some kid in high school who doesn’t quite know how to dress, so she mixes things that don’t go together, don’t fit her well, and don’t suit the occassion (case in point: wearing a winter coat on a summer day).
She always looks like she’s trying but never quite gets it. The headband is cute but the jeans look awful, and the oversized bag with the oversized jeans make her look like a cartoon character.
