OlderBrad & Angelina Open HIV/AIDS Clinic in Ethiopia
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are continuing to help kids around the world, helping those who have been affected by tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation just donated $2 million to the Global Health Committee to plant a help center in Ethiopia, which will be named after their daughter Zahara (she was adopted from Ethiopia).
The center will be modeled after Maddox Chivan Children’s Center in Cambodia (named after their oldest son), where children receive medical, education and social services.
“Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease,” Jolie said in a statement to People.
Added Pitt, “It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission. The fact that poor people continue to die in our world today of TB, a curable disease, because of lack of access to drugs and care is unacceptable.”

Bitter Fanistons. They crack me up. I have this mental image of them sitting at home for last 3 1/2 years in a snit and grinding their teeth and fuming because Brad had the nerve to get on with his life after dumping X.

Brads character ‘Chad’ was so indearing to me….
(possible spoiler alert after this point)…
I too noticed that ‘Chad’ was very one dimensional in terms of our knowing anything about his life other than that of the gym and his interest in these personal files found in the gym, but I think this was done on purpose, and to the credit of the film…
Chad’s innocence and sweetness came out in several moments….like when he was sitting down at the counter with Frances character, and she mentioned the liposuction that she couldnt afford unless they successfully got this money for Osborn Cox CD file. Chad puts his arm around her to comfort her…
He also displays sensitivity and innocence when he is on the phone with Osborne Cox. When Mr. Cox gets upset, and Frances character starts yelling at him from the other phone receiver, you get the sense in ‘Chad’s’ expression and demeanor that he never intended to be mean or to upset the guy….he merely wanted to get a reward for the return of the item…
…His mortified expression when Cox starts insulting him over the phone iconveys that he is a person ‘in over his head’, and that he never intended the phone-call to take such a ‘negative’ turn…
Also, during the moment of the scene in the closet when George Clooney’s character finally discovers him hiding….WOW…, the look on ‘Chad’s’ face is almost like it was saying… ‘okaaay…you got me…’ and in those brief seconds…it was so childlike, that what happens next is certainly a jolt to the senses.
I really like what Brad did with the small but integral character CHAD in Burn After Reading, and I’ve already seen the movie TWICE. I love the audience reaction to certain scenes….and again, this movie character exemplifies the theory that Brad is one of the FEW ACTORS who challenges himself in roles that subbordinate his ‘cool’ persona and takes risks that other actors with his power and ‘hunky’ status would NEVER dare make. He is not afraid to make a fool out of himself…and ALL his mannerisms…(including the way he put his hand up to his nose when Malcovitch punched him in the car scene)….were that of an ENTIRELY new character VERY UNLIKE HIMSELF. That takes guts.
…No box office totals, pathetic ex-wife, snarky comments, or taboid lies will every minimize the talent, sensitivity, sexiness, uniqueness, and international awareness Brad Pitt has as an actor and a person in the entertainment industry .
LOVE LOVE LOVE Brad Pitt. He simply rocks.

They aren’t the most humanitarian couple either. The donation for the Ethiopia clinic for tuberculosis and AIDS (which Zahara will run) story is up again at JJ and elsewhere on the net. Their PR fax is busy these days.
All of the foundation data is public. From the 2006 Form 990 for the Jolie Pitt Foundation, Pitt & Jolie each donated @ $4.2 million to their foundation, of which @ $2.4 million was distributed in 2006. The 2007 filing is not yet available. The Make it Right Foundation was established in 2007 and there is no record of contributions from Jolie-Pitt –i.e. no Form 990 on file for 2007; perhaps we’ll see it later this year but it is late already. Of note is that they are asking for capital contributions and make note of Brad Pitt’s interest in making it right–how many years after the fact? Didn’t someone allege that the MIR housing was empty and the homes had been sold to Jolie? Sounds more like a real estate investment than a charitable contribution. The Global Action for Children website said it was in 2003, the public documentation shows 2006 and it’s ruling year as 2007. There is no Form 990 for the charity–so no record on file of charitable contributions to it. If funds were donated & distributed, they would show on the 2007 Form 990. Perhaps backlog at the IRS, don’t know definitively, but this 2008….late in the year…..This latest AIDS donation can be tracked in 2009 for 2008. The same for the $14 million they received this year. They may very well be donating in full to their foundation, what is important is how much of this they distribute in a given year or over time.
The majority of Brangelina hype is “planted” in the media to make them seem more “important” than they are, I will never take claims like this seriously AGAIN. Bought and paid for, folks; not a SCRAP of truth behind it!

OMG. Angelina you are my fckn hero. you are not only married to the hottest guy in the planet you are helping people in our planet in many wayys. I am sitting here doing Civic Oration for my school and I choose you to do because we have to sit her and chose a people who has touched many lives and I chose you. I am amazed I never knew you built clinics and other things but I did know you helped with the HIV and AIDS in Africa and other places. I look up to you greatlyyy.
