Brad & Angelina Open HIV/AIDS Clinic in Ethiopia
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are continuing to help kids around the world, helping those who have been affected by tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation just donated $2 million to the Global Health Committee to plant a help center in Ethiopia, which will be named after their daughter Zahara (she was adopted from Ethiopia).
The center will be modeled after Maddox Chivan Children’s Center in Cambodia (named after their oldest son), where children receive medical, education and social services.
“Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease,” Jolie said in a statement to People.
Added Pitt, “It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission. The fact that poor people continue to die in our world today of TB, a curable disease, because of lack of access to drugs and care is unacceptable.”

Children generally form their values from example.
Brad and Angelina are not “do as I say not as I do” people. they are doting parents who are showing their children what is honorable through ACTIONS as well as words.
They are such beautiful people! On the inside, as well as the out! Bless the Jolie Pitt family! :)

What a big hearted couple..if only more celebs would be like them,
with MIRi n NOLA & helping dying chidren in the 3rd world…it breaks mt heart.
Angie &Brad you are the BEST
thanks jared for posting this.
They walk the talk !!!!!
OMG, Brangelina f**kin ROCKS!!! Love them and their whole family!! It’s so wonderful to see their committment being realized — they are incredibly inspiring.
..and this is for nysro (#3 post), excuse me if I doubt your sincerity for “people in this country,” especially when you’re OBVIOUSLY so ignorant of all that Brad & Angelina HAVE DONE in this country, see ‘Make It Right Foundation,’ building and rebuilding for Katrina victims in New Orleans (something your own Bush gov never did, nd won’t do) see Native American Programs that Angelina has supported and funded for the last 6 years, see donations to our National Education Association in 2006-7, and the most recent 1 million dollar donation to programs for American children of the U.S. military affected by the current ongoing Iraq ‘war.’
If you can find time to b*tch about these incredibly compassionate and giving people - influential humanitarians both, remember to find time to b*tch about the people that don’t do or give jacksh*t which would be MOST people in the public eye and most people in Hollywood. It’s just your guilty jealous conscience that can’t allow you to give this family their props.
As for their wish for Zahara — when they say ‘take responsibility,’ for this particular charitable - I’m sure they mean it in the exact same way that THEY THEMSELVES are responsible for several different charitable projects while STILL having careers in different professions. It’s no different than hoping your kid grows up and selects charitable endeavors that you might support ad give time to.
I work with Habitat for Humanity and I will encourage children of mine to do the same thing, much as Brad Pitt is wishing for Zahara. However, it’s not the job or ‘career,’ I go to every day. HELLO??
That doesn’t mean, I would want my children to choose that as a ‘career,’ that just means that’s the charity I would hope, having seen my example and seen why I think it’s important, might select that charity to give their time and energy to.
Some of you people sound seriously slow.
what a generiuos couolple
SOOOOOOOO poroud of tem

Why there are so many dumb questions in this thread?
*********************************************************
Because there are dumb Fanistons reading this thread.
Thanks, Jared for posting it — Loonifers or no.
Ok, I really don’t like this couple, only because I just don’t like either one of them. Sorry. But I have to congratulate them for this venture, as it is truly generous and wonderful for the children so affected by the AIDS epidemic in Africa. It’s a beautiful gesture.

Exactly!!!
You are teaching your children the value of awareness and compassion for those less fortunate.
When you give your children a global perspective they realize that there are tragedies happening needlessly every day.
I have long said, there are tragedies and there are disappointments. Most people do not know the difference.
Tragedy is a child suffering a long and painful death from a treatable disease or from starvation.
Disappointment is when you can’t get the latest iphone.
…damn jared!…it’s hard as algebra to leave a comment in here…not that I have much to say…just sayin though…
nysro, it would be a good idea to check out what work Brad did in New Orleans. That’s just to sweet. Such a blessed family.
Awesome for them, and all those they will help be treated!
Awesome news and that is one of the reasons why I adore, admire and respect this couple. They are so giving, caring, loving and do amazing things in this world. I am sure the people of Ethiopia are so greatful for this clinic. WTG Brad and Angie, so proud of you both.
Thanks Jared
it doesnt matter where they’re helping.
The good thing is that they are doing it. They dont have to but they are.
and i doubt her kids will turn out like the celebrity babies 20 years ago. atleast i hope not. they should be appreciative of the fact that Angelina jolie adopted them to get them away from their countries which probably are facing a lot of issues.
And even if they sold their kids picture to get millions. that’s okay, because it is going to kids in africa.
and people in africa need it way more than we do. So relax.
These two do so much good in the world.

wow, she’s only 3 and already has her life planned out for her.
Great photo op.
you know, I used to hate Angelina Jolie because she is so damn beautiful, that WH*RE! but I see that her real beauty comes from inside, she really cares and she’s really passionate, that’s beautiful, now I’m an ugly girl (no need to sugar coat things) but if I can contribute something to the world like she does, to the best of my ability than it won’t matter how ugly I am, well to the people that matter anyways…
wow, great news, this couple is unstoppable, there is more to life then shallow Hollywood, they have proved it, even with all they have on their plate, thanks brad and Angie from the world.
wish they would set up a clinic in the appalachian mountains to help all the poverty stricken people there.
Ahhh….this coming from a couple in Hollywood is very rare. I hope other Hollywood stars follow in their foot steps.
