What makes “Burn After Reading” so deliciously entertaining is the way each of the A-list actors (Pitt, Swinton, John Malkovish, McDormand and George Clooney) inhabit their roles so completely, with so much gusto they never come across as characters in a movie. These are people we could conceivably see on the street, with all accompanying foibles and eccentricities. Take Pitt, for example. Normally a dramatic actor, here he morphs into a man child, snapping gum, rocking out to his iPod and obsessed with his body. Pitt doesn´t need to utter a word to completely form the character in front of our eyes.

Cliniqua Jennifer Anniston was at an Obama fundraiser and was photographed with Morgan Freeman, so now she can’t endorse him. I’m supprised no one remembers this but me.

Read somewhere in older post that schools may start in France today. Maddox may be starting school today. Wonder if Pax and Z will be going to school also. If so, this will give Angie a break for only 3 kids will be at home.

Last year Angelina and Jennifer shared the most powerful actress title. And Tom Cruise was the most powerful actor. This year, Aniston and Cruise were dropped for Angelina and Brad.

The guinness records data were based on Forbes Mag list I think but like 1-2 years behind, coz I think in 2006 both Angelina and Aniston were no 35 in Forbes Most powerful celeb. Then in 2007, Angelina went up to No.14 and Aniston went down to No. 45, in 2008, Angie is no. 3 and Jennifer is no. 17, I think. Angie totally deserves to be way up there, but I dont know Aniston is even considered powerful, when she doesnt get the most coveted roles in HW and gets to do all those crappy rom-coms.

I am reading about the crisis at Lehman Bros, and this is very scary. On the news tonight, they showed the employees moving out their personal belongings looking shell-shocked.

I worked at an Investment bank for 12 years, and was given a buy-out after 911. It took me about 18 months before I could find a decent job again, and although i desperately wanted to work in the financial district again, I had to settle for a job in financial aid office of a propriety college. I am kind of happy I did now, because all of my friends who are working in banks or brokerage houses are on tenterhooks, not knowing what the future holds. Although with the economy the way it is now, no one is safe.

Also, there is a rumour that Merrill Lynch might be bought by Bank of America, which will mean more lay-offs. This is a global crisis, and very unsettling.

Dianad1968, I am watching the news this morning and Lehman bros filed bankruptcy and Merrill Lynch sold to Bank of America. This is just unbelievable. All those people without a job in this tough economy. I agree it is very unsettling and happening all over the world not just in the U.S. Lehman Bros and Merrill Lynch have been around for centuries, so sad.
