OlderLindsay Lohan: Sarah Palin Sucks!
Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:
“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.
Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’
I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.
Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!
And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it“.
Lindsay- “I have faith that this country will be all that it can be with the proper guidance. I really hope that all of you make your decisions based on the facts and what feels right to you in your heart-vote for Obama!”
Samantha- “I love this country- however i wasn’t born here and don’t have the right to vote- so i beg of you all to really do your research and be educated when you cast your vote this coming november…. and if you’re in doubt- vote for obama! Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

Nicole you are a primitive person. How can you compare Obama to Hitler? Obama is not praying the extermination of any population - some of the republicans that are stupid and have primitive opinions are. They don’t care about the iranis, irakis, etc. Palin is not being ridiculed for having Christian morals and values, but because when it comes to foreign affairs she doesn,t have a clue of what she is talking about (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z75QSExE0jU). Politics have NOTHING TO DO WITH values, we are talking about REALPOLITIK here. Of course, I do not want my president to be Machiavel, but politiants are not saints at all. The main concernes of the world of today are global warming,the crisis of the agriculture, the rise of the price of oil - and it’s shortage. The world needs to be changed and we have to change it.
Palin doesn’t know what the Bush Doctrine is, and she doesn’t know of what she is talking about. Plus, you can have moral values and not having backward thoughts - and she does have them.
I have an immense respect for McCain, he really is a hero. I respect republicans too, but not all of them : I only respect the smart ones. And I believe that people that are narrow-minded are not smart at all, and some of the comments posted here are of these kind of people.

I don’t have to justify anything. In my opinion life is life and there is no difference between the value of the life of a rat and the value of the life of a human beeing.
In my opinion you cannot use the argument “oh but it is life” and the next thing you do is going out eating a steak.
I am not comparing rats to babies. I am comparing a fetus to a rat. Medically you call a baby baby when it is born. Before birth it is called fetus. And there is a reason for that. It does not even have a brain and cannot feel any pain because there are no nerves until the 18th week. In my opinion the only one who has the right to decide over her body is the women. And she should have the right to decide waht she thinks is best for her. If abortion is legal where’s the problem? If you get pregnant, you can decide what you want and keep the baby. Why is it your business what another woman in America decides?

Victoire, you probably don’t know what the Bush Doctrine is. You just read about it in an email blast from the Obama campaign. And it seems to me,you don’t know anything about what Christians or Republicans believe.
Christians don’t hate homosexuals. We just don’t think you can call a union between two sexes a marriage. You can call it a civil union and give it same rights, but marriage is a sacred thing - between a man and a woman. You wouldn’t call a rat a pig… so why call a civil union a marriage.
Yes, I know what the Kyoto Protocol is and Bush was smart for not signing it! Global Warming is a hoax and America should not be paying for the majority of the cost when countries like China an Russia violate the treaty.
Look at the wave of conservative leaders that are being voted into office in Europe and Canada. They know that Bush kept America protected and that’s why these countries are voting more conservative leaders.
Obama is the Joke. Palin has more experience on her little pinky compared to Obama.

Our education isn’t as good as it could be, but people from all countries still flock to the US for higher education. And yes, our economy is in a heat of trouble but so is the rest of the world. As bad as America is, we still have significantly lower unemployement than Europe and other countries and we still have the greatest amount of people trying to immigrate here. Peoples lives here are far richer than anywhere else. People in America can accomplish anything they want - with hard work, that is. In Europe and in the rest of the world, there is still an aristocratic way. In America, everyone has a chance! That’s why there’s such a thing as the AMERICAN DREAM. You don’t hear about the Eurpopean dream.
Also, many more Americans travel to other countries. I’ve met so many Europeans who have never traveled outside of their country. They speak many languages but they’ve never been anywhere.
Victoire, where are you from? Clearly, you look to America for so many things, otherwise, you wouldn’t be posting here and reading about American celebrities and gossip.

Oh what a great argument is that! If some of the others don’t do it, why should we? That’s sound like a grown-up view.
I am glad that there are people in the world, who do not have such a childish view. If all people where thinking like that…man I don’t wanna imagine……
People are losing homes because of several things:
1) our monetary policy was way too laxed for too long and banks and mortgage companies were anxious to make money so they loaned to just about anyone.
2) adjustable, interest only and negative amortization loans became popular because it allowed people to purchase homes they really could not afford. that’s the problem with Americans, we always want bigger and more.
3) people put no money down and got into homes they couldn’t afford and as rates increased or their locks adjusted, payments became unaffordable so people lose their homes
4) the economy is slowing down and people are losing jobs making homes even less afordable
5) as more homes go into foreclosure, prices decline making it even harder to sell homes
But people should have known what risks they were taking when they purchased their homes. A lot of people did not put much money down and so although they lost their homes, they didn’t lose a lot of seed money. In 7-8 years, most people who have lost their homes will be able to buy homes again.
The economy is cyclical… what goes up, must come down. And then it goes up again. But, it is not governement’s job to control the economy. A government creates the environment that either helps or does not help the economy.
In a few years, my babies won’t be able to breathe.. what are you talking about?
All I’m saying is that scientists can’t agree on the whether the global changes are natural cycles or if they are caused by human activities. Assuming that global warming is caused by our acitivities, tell me why should America bear the majority of the financial burden when other countries participate. Where’s the fairness there? It’s the same concept we disagree on with income redistribution. Why fault a person, group or country for it’s successes.
Why are you so completely on board with the Kyoto Treaty?
You Americans are so proud of your American Dream. That is the biggest bullshit I’ve ever heard. If you really want a thing and you are good in what you want, you can achieve it anywhere not only in America.
But I think it no longer has sense to comment on your comment, because of the fact that you come up with the American Dream, that shows me believe everything the media tells you….
You never heard of a thing called the European Dream because we are not so naiv and cocky to think something (you dream of) is only possible in Europe. And when you look at your house markets, the bank crisis, the Iraq disaster etc. I don’t want to live that thing you call an american dream, because it turned to a nightmare.
