Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:
“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.
Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’
I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.
Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!
And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it“.

Yes, I do believe abortion is immoral. Who is to say whether an unborn baby’s life is worth less than his/her mother? That’s basically the argument for pro-choice. A woman’s right to her life is greater than an unborn baby’s right to his/her life.
Besides, most women who have abortions are having sex knowing what the consequences are. You have to live with the consequences. You don’t gamble and when you lose, refuse to pay up. So why should women get a pass, unless their life is at stake?

Do you own a home? Do you have a family? Have you ever left your Europe and traveled anywhere? Have you been to America? If not, travel and see the rest of the world and perhaps you will see what Alexis de Tocqueville saw. Or if not, read Democracy in America and perhaps that will shed some light for you. Don’t hate on America an Americans if you don’t understand.
Europeans are more secular. That’s the major difference between our ideals. Our country is grounded in Judeo-Christian beliefs and so we will hopefully never be like Europe.

And if it weren’t for Americans, there wouldn’t be a Europe. You would be under Nazi control or you would be Soviet. So you can make your judgments about Iraq. But in several years, I think the Iraqis will be grateful to America for their freedom and their new democracy. Perhaps their gratitude will fade (just as Europe’s gratitude has faded) and revisionists will rewrite history, but I think Bush will be considered a hero. He will have expanded democracy in this world which is a lot more than I can say about Jacque Chirac, Dominic deVillepin and their cronies. Thank goodness France is headed in the right direction and they elected Sarkozy! Good start.

Sarah Palin did great considering Charlie Gibson’s gotcha questions. He was simply trying to get soundbytes out of Palin so Obama could run ads against her. She was smart and did not fall for it.
As I recall, Sarah Palin specifically stated several of Bush’s Doctrines during her interview. She may not refer to them as “Bush Doctrine” but clearly she knows the concepts. The confusion is that they are NOT self-proclaimed doctrines by Bush. Instead these are doctrines that political pundits or pseudo-journalists brand Bush Doctrine.

In fact we don’t have SAT’s as you have.
We go to school for 10 years or 13 years (only if you are really good!). NOT everyone can get Abitur. The difference is that anyone can get a highschool diploma, but here in Germany NOT everyone can get Abitur. You need Abitur to study. Other than that you cannot study. And fact is that our 11th class is comparable to the first year in college in America. It is fact that you Americans have a not so good educational system, so please do not refer to my education. A friend of mine was in Highschool for one year and she laughed her ass off when seeing what you learn in school.
The comparison with the rats, was a bit bad, you are right. It was not a good comparison. I only wanted to point out how hypocritical the argument “but it is life” is. I am not saying that my view is right or wrong. The thing is that I am just saying that it should be a free decision to keep a baby or not to keep it. You don’t let woman decide for themselves and you don’t want to let gay people marry.

Victoire , I have traveled extensively to many countries in Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, South Pacific and the Middle East. I’m 38. I seriously doubt you have traveled as extensively as you claim.. Are you sure you have traveled to those places you mentioned? Because you can’t even spell them properly. And perhaps 10-13 years of education isn’t enough considering your grammar.
No real estate market that operates in a free-market is stable. Perhaps you will own your own flat, but I doubt it.
As for your question on pollution, I do my share in recycling and limiting my use of energy. Lucy, if your education system is so great, why is it that students that come to America have to start at the very beginning. I’ve met people from many countries who claim to have just one year left in college in Europe, but have to spend an additional 4-5 years to get a degree here in America. So much for your 11th grade being comparable to our 1st year in college.
African-Americans are afforded the luxury of 230 points added to their SATs in order for them to get into an Ivy League school. It’s pretty much points out that they must be too dumb that they need to be given the extra 230 points before they can even take the SAT! Imagine, Obama initially didn’t get into an Ivy League school despite the 230 points bonus. That means…Obama is that stupid and dumb he needed affirmative action from Dr. Khalid Al Mansour for Harvard Law.

Neil, I was mortified when I first watched Dr. Khalid’s speeches. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised considering Obama’s ties to other radicals. How does Obama explain that one? “He’s just another guy in my neighborhood” - uh, can’t use that one since the guy lives in Texas.

I don’t know why I do it. It’s like bagging your head against the wall….you just can’t get through. But I can’t help myself. I keep thinking if they just knew the facts, they would understand.
