Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:
“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.
Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’
I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.
Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!

Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

Reason 1
He wants to get rid of laws that under mind civil liberties and our Constitution such as The Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act of 2006 and many many more
Reason 2
He will drastically lower taxes by getting rid of unneeded government programs. Such as the war on drugs. Which will filter BILLONS of dollars a year into. It’s an unwinable war. Prohibition causes the problems we currently have with drugs. Make it illegal causes violence (ie gangs) And morally I believe an adult should be able to what they wish with their bodies so long as it doesn’t infringe on the rights of another. There are many others but just an example.
Reason 3
He will fix our foreign policy problems. He is the only true anti-war candidate. He believes in non-interventionism. IE mind our own business, no preemptive war.
Reason 4
He will fix our economy. By fixing inflation and getting rid of the federal reserve. Inflation is killing our middle class and our government should not be in debt to a privately owned bank.A privately owned bank should not decide how much money is printed ext. Because of this are dollar has fallen to a value of about 2 cents.
Reason 5
I want more freedom and less government. I want to insure my children grow up in a prosperous, FREE nation. Not one that is bankrupt and has taken away all rights.
Obama nor McCain even speak on these issues. Neither will bring any real and true change. With either you will get more of the same. It doesn’t matter democrat or republican both leave you bent over ass cheeks spread screaming **** me harder government. All we have is republicrats. It’s an illusion to make you believe you have a choice. It doesn’t matter which you pick big government wins and we the American people lose.
Screw Obama or McCain…the lesser of two evils….is still evil.
This is a post I was planning to write in October, not September, because I wanted to wait until after the debates to make a more accurate judgment of the two presidential candidates. But this nonstory about lipstick forced my hand.
I am angry. I am disappointed. And I am scared. But I am hopeful.
Coming into this election season, I was hopeful for America because I believed we finally had a chance to pick up the pieces and get America back on track after our long national nightmare. President Bush has been the worst president of my lifetime. I don’t say that as a partisan. I say that because I genuinely believe he is the only president in my 31 years who has left the United States in a worse position than when he came into office. There is a pervasive sense of gloom, despair, apathy, and mistrust swirling around the nation that I have never observed before.
I love the United States of America. I believe this is the greatest country on Earth. It is only in America that someone can progress from having absolutely nothing to being on top of the world. It doesn’t matter if you are a third-generation daughter of Polish immigrants, a true-blue son of Appalachia, a waitress working the late shift at a local diner, or a man whose parents abandoned him as a child on a street corner in Los Angeles. The United States offers more opportunities for everyone to succeed than any other nation on Earth.
But lately, it seems that more and more people are falling behind and the American Dream is becoming more and more unattainable. It’s not just poor people or those who have made poor decisions who are falling behind. It’s middle class people and those who are working hard and playing by the rules who are struggling now too. It costs more to drive our cars because of spiking gas prices. It costs more to go to college because of rising interest rates on student loans. It’s more difficult to buy or sell a home. And it’s harder to deal with being sick because health care is increasingly unaffordable.
There is a lack of confidence in our government, a lack of sophistication in our politicians, and a lack of professionalism in the media that cover them. People feel that the government doesn’t understand their problems, the government doesn’t understand its own responsibilities, and the government doesn’t care. I’m not saying this as a criticism of conservatism which naturally advocates smaller government. I’m saying that people are losing faith in the very governmental institutions that run America. Think of the Federal Reserve, the State Department, and Homeland Security for example.
Having spent many years of my life abroad, I have seen the transformation that is taking place beyond our borders as well. Gone is the enthusiasm that outsiders once had for this nation. Gone is the respect that the mere mention of “America” commanded. This respect has been replaced by disdain, condescension, and lament.

I never said you don’t have democracy. Where do you get that? I said our country was founded in Judeo-Christian believes and Europe is more secular. Look these things up if you don’t know what they mean before you make incorrect assumptions.
Capitalism is better than Communism as evidenced by the failure of communism to take root without a corrupt dictator making sure it does. You say the only thing America has exported is explcit sex, power of money, etc… clearly you don’t know what you speak of. Japan would not be a democracy if it weren’t for the US. And France would be Nazi territory and eventually part of the Soviet Union if not for the strength of America. Capitalism without morals is just greed! That’s why relatively speaking, America has succeeded - because our capitalism is tempered by the Judeo-Christian morals we have.
As far as Gucci, Ferraris and other designer brands - they are in business because of America and its desire for those goods. And countries flourish because of American tourism. You’d probably be out of a job if it weren’t for me and my fellow Americans. And if all we export is sex and all of these horrible things, why are you on this website where celebrities with their money and designer items are the talk. Seems to me you have American envy. It’s okay, I understand.
I value what France has done for America. We would not have our independence if it weren’t for France. And without Russia, we would not have defeated Hitler. But France, Germany and Russia’s hypocrisy is unquestionable. These countries claimed to be for the Iraqi people yet these countries were part of Saddam Hussein’s corruption. These countries sold arms and were part of the Oil for Food scandal and they were harming the Iraqis! Such hypocrites.
And regarding the U.S Economy. If the U.S. economy is in trouble, which it is, the entire world sufers along with us because we are the reason for a large part of other countries’ economies.
I’m not saying America is without fault. Every country has its flaws, after all they are run by flawed humans. But, there is no other country quite like America and I would say that the majority of countries in the world aspire to be like America.

Keenie, think before you post for most things that you said might not help your economy. Now you are saying that those that can afford to buy european/ luxurious items are americans that want to show off. Maybe, you want to rephrase that as “people who can afford” to enjoy their hard earned money…and you know what, that is part of the American Dream that people are enjoying here. You better be thankful that you have clients from the good US of A who can afford to support your economy, as tourists for one thing. I know there are european cities that thrive in tourism, look around you in every 10 tourists that you meet ask what country they are from..the good US of A!!! That is living the american dream, being able to afford to travel.!
Speaking of travel and being so proud that you guys are in the highest echelon of mankind…how come the society in europe has not even, at least, clean up the pick-pocketers there starting from the airport to the shopping district? I am travelling a lot, because I loved travelling since I was a child.
And because of the low dollar exchange course (bad for you, good for Europe) in relation to the Euro, it is very cheap for us Europeans to travel.
In Germany the wages are at a very high level compared to american wages, so even if you study and have a part-time job, you can afford at least one trip to Thailand (for example). A trip to America is even cheaper.
I don’t care if you doubt it or not, because thinking of what your views are I don’t give a damn about what you are thinking of me.
