Lindsay Lohan: Sarah Palin Sucks!

Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:

“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.

I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.

Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?

I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.

Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…

Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…

Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??

According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.

Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’

I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.

Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.

Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!

And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it“.

Lindsay- “I have faith that this country will be all that it can be with the proper guidance. I really hope that all of you make your decisions based on the facts and what feels right to you in your heart-vote for Obama!”

Samantha- “I love this country- however i wasn’t born here and don’t have the right to vote- so i beg of you all to really do your research and be educated when you cast your vote this coming november…. and if you’re in doubt- vote for obama! Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

xoxo

To burnish the foreign policy credentials of a vice presidential candidate who never even had a passport until last year, the Republicans have been touting Alaska’s proximity to Russia. (Imagine the derisive laughter in conservative circles if the Democrats had tried such nonsense.) So Mr. Gibson asked Ms. Palin, “What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?”

She said, “They’re our next-door neighbors. And you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska. From an island in Alaska.”

Mr. Gibson tried again. “But what insight does that give you,” he asked, “into what they’re doing in Georgia?”

John McCain, who is shameless about promoting himself as America’s ultimate patriot, put the best interests of the nation aside in making his incredibly reckless choice of a running mate. But there is a profound double standard in this country. The likes of John McCain and George W. Bush can do the craziest, most irresponsible things imaginable, and it only seems to help them politically.

KELLYBAMA, YOU ARE SUCH A LOST SHEEP. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK OBAMA WHO’S JUST A STARTER POLITICIAN IS BETTER THAN PALIN WHO STARTED IN POLITICS WAY BACK IN 1992 AS CITY COUNCIL? BEING A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER DOESN’T QUALIFY HIM AS A POLITICIAN…IT’S NOT EVEN HIGH OFFICE. PLUS, EVERYTHING IN HIM IS DUBIOUS AS IN BIG QUESTION MARK. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND READ UP ALL MY MAILS.

Kellp,

All of the major news contributors the following day said that they did not know what the “Bush Doctrine” is. Let’s be fair. Time to start maybe watching some less biased news channels (try Hannity & Colmes on Fox - it shows both sides)

Also, your re-printing of the NY Times article above is a copyright infringement. Be careful. That may get you in trouble.

I am happy that people are getting out to vote this year. But everyone needs to be courteous of everyone’s different and unique views. It is what makes this country wonderful. But when you personally insult other people, as opposed to just state your opinion, that is just mean spirited.

I am voting for McCain because I genuinely believe he is more qualified, and because when he speaks, I sense more confidence and strong decision-making ability. I am a libertarian and an independent (fiscally more conservative and socially more liberal), so I have watched everything I possibly could on this election to date. I have taken a hard look at the issues and just trust McCain more on the economy and terrorism. I have nothing bad to say about Obama. I think he ran too early in his career, but he seems like a nice guy. I just don’t get the sense that he is as confident and decisive as McCain. But it does not add any value to my like to “slam” him with insults. I learned in law school a LONG time ago that as soon as you start getting emotional in a debate, you’ve already lost ;)

Sarah Palin narrow minded homophobe? isn’t Lindsay still in the closet?and doesn’t like what people say in the tabs?

lindsaySUCKS @ 09/16/2008 at 12:51 pm

Lindsay and the LIBERAL HOLLYWOOD SUCKS!!!!! Vote MCCAIN-PALIN 08!!!!

Seriously, liberals just can’t stay out of their own way. Emotional and Stupid…Keep talking, especially the moronic of the moronic (Lohan, Anderson, Hilton) you’re only hurting your cause…but stupid libs jump on the bandwagon and can’t help themselves. Ridiculous, emotional people who would rather run their mouths than win an election…THINK ABOUT YOU MORONS!

THE NAME OF THE AUTHOR WAS THERE

Consider the source. Who would listen to a spoiled rotten brat that stays stoned out of her head, and has pronographic pictures of herself on the Internet. Go figure. I am surprised she knows anything about politics.

I agree with Lindsey, this absolutely has nothing to do with the gender. Sarah Palin is a horrible choice for a vp candidate and will do nothing but set us back 10-50 years with all her antics. She’s nothing but a gimmick to get people to look at Mccain. Mccain is just jealous that people and the media will follow Obama to Hawaii and won’t follow him across the street. People, vote wisely. Pick someone that will be strong and capable of leading our country forward in our best interest.

Connie,

AND WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT OBAMA WITH NO RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS, WHO HARDLY FINISHED HIS FIRST AND ONLY TERM IN HIGH OFFICE, WHO BARELY ATTENDED SENATE SESSIONS FOR A TOTAL OF ONLY 145 DAYS TO VOTE, WHO HAS QUESTIONABLE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AND WHO HAS DUBIOUS ASSOCIATIONS WITH BAD AND WRONG PEOPLE,
IS QUALIFIED TO BECOME PRESIDENT? HE’S NOT EVEN QUALIFIED AS VEEP OR ON ANY HIGH OFFICE POSITION. PALIN HAS ACTUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS WHILE IN OFFICE SINCE BECOMING TEH CITY COUNCIL BACK IN 1992. OBAMA IS A COMPLETE JOKE AND PEOPLE ARE BEGINNING TO REALIZE THAT. THE COUNTRIES GROWING ISSUES ARE TOO COMPLICATED FOR HIS LITTLE BRAINS.

Lohan, a typical uignorant democrat, blasts Palin while the rest of the country solidifies their votes for her. Keep talking bimbos and watch your, unqualified, affirmative action candidate spiral down the toilet.

I have to question the logic here a few times. First, how is it different for Obama to pose for tabloids from Palin doing the same thing? Secondly Sarah Palin is from Alaska, aren’t some of the places that are under consideration for drilling in Alaska? Thirdly, when you say she is hosting a convention, maybe you could include text that shows HER hosting the event instead of the church she attends. I’m not voting for a church as vice president. Fourthly, in what way does being a celebrity make a person’s opinion more valid or important than anyone else’s? Lastly, since when does this Samantha character, or any other non US citizen, have any business getting involved in US internal politics?

I don’t have an issue with celebrities expressing their opinions. I am in favor of the First Amendment afterall. What is frustrating, however, is that sometimes they are just plain hateful or uneducated (like a lot of regular people). Unfortunately, people elevate celebrities to a status that is unrealistic and may take what they say to heart just because they are celebrities, not because it is true. You cannot regulate ignorance though and if people choose to believe them, it is their choice. These past few weeks, I have thought that both Lohan’s and Damon’s comments were both ignorant and cruel. They reflected a complete misunderstanding of Palin’s belief system (which I mentioned earlier is the same exact one as Obama claims to have). Just because she is pro-life, people assume she is a religious zealot. Maybe she genuinely believes that it is murder. If so, and as Obama even admitted, that is difficult to argue about.

I struggled with the abortion issue for a really long time. I am a Christian, but that really has nothing to do with why I am pro-life. That is only the reason why I, personally, would not have an abortion. I normally have real issues with anyone imposing their religious beliefs on others (it is the libertarian in me) because I would not want to live somewhere that I was the minority and someone did it to me. That is why I do not oppose civil unions and am generally liberal on social issues. However, after a lot of research and questioning, I decided that do believe that abortion is murder and in most (not all circumstances) oppose it. What is interesting is that, as a lawyer, I do not see how anyone could argue that Roe v. Wade was not a Constitutional disaster. You learn that your first year of law school and if there is a lawyer out there that says they believe differently, they are a scarce minority. It is the textbook example of an overr-reaching majoritarian Supreme Court, and that is obvious by the number of concurring and dissenting opinions (it it was an straightforward issue, everyone would not disagree anbd you would have something closer to a unanimous decision). It is also evidenced by the case that came after — Bowers v. Synar where the same Court (using the same analysis as R v. W) held that some guy engaging in sodomy was not protected by the Constitution. They didn’t like the idea of sodomy, so even though the plaintiff made the same argument that it was protected by the Constitution (i.e., my body is my business) that they did in R v. W, the S. Ct. didn’t buy it this time.

What people do not understand is that if Roe v. Wade is overturned, ALL that means is that it means is that the states decide individually whether abortion is legal (THAT is what McCain and Palin want). That is a hell of a lot better because you as an individual get a voice instead of a bunch of Supreme Court justices who are really only protecting their individual opinions. It does not mean that abortion is illegal, it just means you gotta get out there and get your voice heard. Seems like people think it means that abortion is automatically illegal and that is so not the case. I really hate the idea of a legislating S. Ct. because you are at the whim of their “current” opinion. So, even if I were pro-choice, I would still think Roe v. Wade was a huge mistake. I am ok with you disagreeing with me, but at least take the time to learn the issues before you start talking. It is obvious on here that people have not taken the time to look into them.

Obama’s “hollywood cheerleaders” only help to prove why he is the wrong choice for America. Their corrupt morals & lifestyles are exactly what we’re all sick of- we don’t need it in the White House, too. That’s what is wrong with America now, we have gotten ourselves in this shape because we’ve stood by & shut up in order to be “politically correct”, so as not to step on anyone’s toes. I, for one, am tired of seeing America, go to hell in a hand basket. It’s time we took a stand & take our country back.
Do the right thing for our nation…..Vote McCain/Palin!!!!!

Obama and his thugs-they are gonna get what’s coming. Americans can’t be fooled and so when election day comes, McCain/Palin will win!!!

Sometimes celebs should just shut their mouths. Which way exactly does Lindsay’s moral compass point? Oh yeah any which way the crack dealer is!
