Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:
“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…
Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?
I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.
Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’
I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.
Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!
And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it“.
Lindsay- “I have faith that this country will be all that it can be with the proper guidance. I really hope that all of you make your decisions based on the facts and what feels right to you in your heart-vote for Obama!”
Samantha- “I love this country- however i wasn’t born here and don’t have the right to vote- so i beg of you all to really do your research and be educated when you cast your vote this coming november…. and if you’re in doubt- vote for obama! Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

I have to laugh at the Palin ‘not qualified’ to be VP comments! Come on! The Vice President has absolutely no Executive Powers, she has two responsibilities:
1. She must preside over the Senate
2. She must cast the tiebreaking vote in the Senate.
I think she’s qualified.

Some are of the opinion that it is just Ivy League lawyers, university professors, politicians, the glitterati and the mind-numbed zombies who worship them who should have any input to the political discourse. She makes us feel like we and our opinions matter; like we exist. We greatly admire her because she represents a counter to the juvenile and destructive impulses of the Left. After all, someone’s got to act like an adult.

I dislike Lilo, but I completely agree with her posting. I think it’s funny that republicans think of themselves as the godly, righteous ones. When in reality, they are big fat hypocrites. its not about who has more experience.. when it comes down to it no one has more expeirence being a president, its more about who can do what the best and most efficient. To me, it looks like mccain is about to croak in about 6 months, and if hes elected, and palin becomes our pres.. were FU*KED.

Dear, it is a sin to be homosexual and it is sinful to have sex before marriage. It happens all the time, more and more. Just because society is begining to accept it doesn’t make it right. Im certainly not perfect. To be Christian is to admit that im not and that im a sinner. Im not judging, Just speaking biblical truth. And if your anti-abortion then your pro-life. Pro-life is not taking a woman’s choice away it’s letting an innocent child live. Women will alway have a choice, she makes her choice when she lays down. Sometimes people make mistakes. If you do make a mistake you should take responsibility for your actions. The world is in a bad place right now, and people not being held accountable for their actions is a good indicatior of why.
BTW, I could care less about endangered animals when defenseless humans are killed everyday!
Look melloyellow, you need to get it into your head RIGHT NOW that not everyone in this country is Christian. And the Christian faith itself is based on fallacy, fabrication, and political agenda. The very thing that you yourself are criticizing. And yes: you are judging. It isn’t biblical truth, in fact that phrase is an oxymoron. Not every woman in this country who ends up pregnant actually had a choice in that, whether or not you choose to turn your head to the fact that violence against women in this country is a very real, and very dangerous reality. Taking away a woman’s choice in the matter of her body is adding insult to injury to all the victims of rape or incest. Birth control should always be used of course. However, due to certain birth control’s effectiveness and certain medical conditions that prevent all women from taking it, let’s not judge lest we be judged. Isn’t that the “Christian” way of looking at things? Oh, and you can cry murder all you want, but the fact of the matter is that most of you anti-abortionists only care about saving the fetus….once it becomes an infant, then a toddler, then a child…..you don’t seem to care too much what happens to it anymore.

Sara Palin is a Big Joke. I have recently decided to vote for Obama. I was undecided but after reading the article of her intense expense accounts and fraud on flying her kids back and forth and using government money to put them up in lavish hotel rooms and the fact she had herself pictured with her newborn with Down’s Syndrome on the front cover of PEOPLE, I suppose asking for the sympathy vote. I raise a 15 year old with Down’s Syndrome and so do alot of us from age 17-50. Do we get a sympathy vote? Boo Hoo. Having a Down’s Syndrome child is a challenge and a blessing and there should be no room for a Vice Presidential Candidate to exploit it at the very last minute. Sure tell us about your life after you are elected or after you lose but duh don’t try to get my vote because you raise a child with Down’s Syndrome. How pathetic. I will be voting for Obama like my 20 year old son convinced me. I have alway been raised in a republican family but don’t want someone within 10 feet of the white house that is going to use my hard earned tax paid money to “Treat Her KIDDIES” Thanks.
