Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:
“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…
Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?
I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.
Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’
I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.
Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!
And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it“.
Lindsay- “I have faith that this country will be all that it can be with the proper guidance. I really hope that all of you make your decisions based on the facts and what feels right to you in your heart-vote for Obama!”
Samantha- “I love this country- however i wasn’t born here and don’t have the right to vote- so i beg of you all to really do your research and be educated when you cast your vote this coming november…. and if you’re in doubt- vote for obama! Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

“Should it be a sin to be straight?” Uh no, Loho, I think you missed the point.
I also think you took the fact that she’s a conservative Christian and put words in her mouth “Save and convert the gays” was stated like it was something she’s said. It’s not. If you believe every headline you read regardless of if it has a primary source, then you probably should believe a lot of worse things about Obama.
Furthermore she has more experience than your guy, who still won’t tell me what he stands for. Also you’re a moron with no college education and a history of being a drunk/druggie/***** so you’re really not the type of person I’d ever ask for political advise.
Compound that with the fact that women like Pamela Anderson and Loho and then celebs who I respected a little more like Matt Damon feel the need to say things like “Suck it”. Sorry, if you really “weren’t against her as a woman or a mother” you’d be using intelligent terms to combat her candidacy rather than phrases like “narrow minded homophobe” because that is personal.
Oh, and Loho, the oil isn’t in her back yard. Why don’t you get a map and go see where it is. It’s barren frozen wasteland and they want to drill in such a small percentage that it would actually increase wildlife populations from the heat in would bring and create jobs for Americans. If we could just drill for oil in our own back yards it wouldn’t be 3.75 a gallon.

I find it funny conservatives keep saying how celebrity endorsements don’t matter and such but once daddy yankee endorsed Mccain everyone was all excited despite the fact he cant VOTE!
If they had all of these celebrities endorsing McCain/Palin you know they wouldn’t be calling them stupid.

If Obama had any sense, he’d distance himself from Hollywood endorsements, but then he’d be left with nothing since Hollywood is his bread and butter! A man who has suffered directly from racism - lest we forget, only in 1955 did Rosa Parks say she wasn’t standing up and moving to the back of the bus for no white guy. Homosexuals, who as far as we are all aware, haven’t oppressed any one, haven’t thrown stones at anyone, imprisoned anyone. So far after having done my research I have learned
1. She doesn’t know what the Bush doctrine is..
2. She supports drilling on protected land…How is this an alternative to oil and energy now? I mean with the energy crisis that we are facing an with India and China needing an increase of about 100%-160% of oil and energy in the forseeable future…how are we prepared to deal with it?
3. She’s pro-abstinence and allegedly pro-contraception, yet her 17 year old daughter is an expectant mother.
4. Her foreign policy experience is that she can see Russia from her backyard.
5. She’s lied about her visit to Iraq…she was just at the border.
6. Troopergate- if there wasn’t something there there wouldn’t be all these questions and they wouldn’t be questioning her husband
7. We’d go to war with Russia if they invade Georgia…
8. She lied about accepting millions in earmarks…
9. She left her small Alaskan town in millions of dollars of debt…if she does this with a small town and Bush already has us in billions… What is she going to do on the National scale?
10. She has while mayor taken jobs from qualified people and given them to her high school buddies
These are 10 reasons why I dnt think Sarah Palm isn’t qualified if someone could tell me why she IS qualified…besides the fact that she has been governor of a town smaller than most US companies because I’m not buying it…
I am sick of celebrities thinking they are know-it-alls when it comes to anything other than Hollywood. Just because someone paid them a bunch of money to look beautiful and star in movies(where half of them aren’t even any good) suddenly they feel like they have the expertise about global politics and oil drilling? Most of them haven’t even finished high school!
Stick to what you know… acting, looking beautiful, songwriting, etc… and stop blogging like you have a Ph.D. in economics.

My first to ever post. You know who really Suck? Pam, Mat Damon, and now these 2 idiots ( Lindsey and this Sam).. I never did like Lindsey and Pam before, I don’t like them now all the more. If only they shut their mouths up, the Obama-Biden ticket may have stayed way up there in the poll, but they keep degrading and insulting Sarah Palin thinking that their opiniions may help booster votes for Obama…hahahaha, they are so wrong. They think they are that influential? Hollywood is only a smaller part of the USA, the bigger part is outside of Hollywood whose beliefs and values are what keeping the country sane.
