Celebrities are continuing to speak out publicly over their disapproval of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. You can tack on Lindsay Lohan and her gal pal DJ Samantha Ronson to that list now! The pair just published this same entry on their respective MySpace blogs:
“I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.
Here’s the AP text: ‘Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer. You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child. Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.’
I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.
Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!
And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it“.

Samantha- “I love this country- however i wasn’t born here and don’t have the right to vote- so i beg of you all to really do your research and be educated when you cast your vote this coming november…. and if you’re in doubt- vote for obama! Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

As a straight, middle class female with two young daughters… I for one am proud of Sarah Palin and what she represents. I find it laughable that the only female role models that are accepted by Hollywood are those women that support Abortion regardless of the reason, support Gay and Lesbian rights, and the list goes on and on.
I think there are quite a few of us in the middle of the road acroos the country that are not representative of the Hollywood Pack that typically have Drug and Alcohol problems, Very high divorce rates and trouble after trouble. As just a typical middle class person that works every day and has a couple young children I LIKE SARAH… and what she represents for our country in accepting a female that can have a family and still be a strong leader.

To all Obama supporters: It is nice to see that there are some (I hope many) Americans who aren’t that narrow-minded.
I think Obama supporters are the future of the USA and I count on these people.
I am from Europe and I wil never understand how a nation who calls itself “greatest nation on earth” can be so backward in its views.
When I hear things like “every life is sacred”, so no abortion, only in case of incest or rape, I am so angry. That is soooo hypocritical, if you believe every life is sacred by God, then EVERY life is sacred, no exception. If you do so, your not a good christ and a hypocrite (just as Palin).

If God doesn’t want people to be gay, there would not be gay people.
I live in a country where every woman has the right to decide what to do with her body and I am proud of it.
I live in a country where if I where gay there could marry, have kids and just be a human….and I am proud of it.
My country said no to the Iraq-war because we thought it was crap and a total lie.
And it turns out that we were right.
I often talk to my friends about the USA and we try to imagine how it will be to live in a country that has all these silly views and has a president as Bush. In Europe we think that president Bush is a total joke. Most of the people will never understand how a nation could vote this figure of fun. For me it would be like living in the medieval times….I cannot imagine to live like this.
Don’t get me wrong I think it is a wonderful country and I know that NOT all americans are silly a christian republicans, who are afraid of gay people. That is waht I hope….because if McCain/Palin win, I forever loose my believe that there are americans that are open-minded.
And to the funny christians: It is a sin to be gay, if you read the bible and only read what you want to read.

pregnant if you are not married. And it is a sin to educate your kids in the wrong way, so they become sinners.

Lucy-thanks, but I have “a right and good education”. And I’m sorry, but why again do you care what happens here? By all accounts, you’re happy as can be in good ol Europe, so….I try to live my life as the best Christian I can be, does it mean I do everything according to the Bible? Unfortunately no, but I’m still a proud CHRISTIAN REPUBLICAN. I live a damn good life here myself and by doing so, I know what will be waiting for me in the afterlife. What about you?!?

This election has turned into a circus. Religion/beliefs/Hollywood and politics should not mix. Whether it is Christian or Atheist, this is not a church crusade or anti-church crusade it is an election. The amount of money put into just running a campaign disgusts me, it could be put towards our children, education. our homeless veterans, or poor neglected communities (we have MANY of them).
Celebrities need to be careful what they say. They are not just normal people expressing their right to free speech. They have taken advantage of their celebrity. People need to remember that the entertainment world is a small liberal population when considering the rest of America. Not everyone is as conservative as Palin or liberal like Obama. I’m sorry but we have more pressing issues than gay rights. Democrats and Republicans alike have used the SAME issues since the 1960’s to sway voters. Let’s be a little smarter about this America. Our economy is downhill, students are in a massive amount of debt from loan companies taking advantage of them, the housing market is down, we have little girls using abortion like birth control, neglected african american communities and we are in a war that 95% of America are ignorant about. American is now about BIG BUSINESS not us the people. What is really scary is that I feel it has become Taboo to be Republican and they are attacked constantly in ways I have never seen before (I say this as a Democrat btw).
So with all that said, let’s try to vote based on what will be best for our country on ALL issues. Don’t believe everything you hear about EITHER Candidate. Obama and McCain both have their faults depending on your perspective. Try to make an educated vote.

Chances are, Lindsay didn’t even really write this…someone else may have been hired to write it for her.
1. It’s pretty hypocritical to criticize her for being on a magazine cover or two when Barack Obama was on ROLLING STONE and he was lined up to guest star on SNL before he got bad press and made a bad excuse to drop out (He doesn’t need to be present to raise money on his website that he doesn’t run).
2. The AP text clearly states that this is her church, not her. I’d much rather stick with a church that wants to convert WILLING homosexuals who volunteer to attend this mass than the white hating church Obama went to that wants God to “damn America”. If she’s responsible for everything her church does than he is too.

The pro life side, at least in Sarah Palin’s case, allows for abortions in cases of rape, incest, and danger to the mother. It’s your CHOICE in any other case not to get knocked up. They believe abortion shouldn’t be a form of birth control.

7. Obama wants to take 56 percent of Loho, Pam Anderson, and Matt Damon’s earnings without deduction. Now I know a lot of people in America think that rich people should give their money away, but what if you make 300,000 on a movie and never get work again because you’re type cast or you get injured. The government is going to take MORE THAN half of what you earned? Without tax deductions that leaves you less wiggle room to give to charity, to set up a nest egg to put your grandkids through college, etc. Our country was built on capitalism, it’s what makes our economy function. Don’t punish people who do well. We haven’t seen taxes like that since Carter, who had the worst economy anyone living can remember
I have to say that anybody that believes that any of these candidates are good hearted and want to be president to make a difference are blind. I thought it was common knowledge that you don’t get anywhere in politics unless you are corrupt or so to say “you scratch my back i’ll scratch yours”. You cannot attack one candidate without attacking the other b/c neither the rep. vp nominee or the dem presidential nominee are qualified for the job. I do NOT believe in voting based on race, creed, religion or sex and will not give my vote to ANYBODY based on any one of those. You have to look at the big picture and who is going to be the best choice as president for the next four years an older republican with an “inexperienced” VP running mate who has ties to a church that thinks being gay is a sin or an “inexperienced” presidential nominee with ties to a church that preaches against the white america and hell i’m not gonna lie Biden just says the same stuff as the rest of them. We have no choice and will never have a good choice for president b/c money got them all where they are and they all only say what they think certain americans want to hear.
