OlderMischa Barton’s African Outreach
In an effort to aid impoverished and other children in need, Mischa Barton joined Save the Children’s Board of Celebrities for the Rewrite the Future campaign. She recently visited school children in the poverty-stricken township of Soweto, an urban area in the City of Johannesburg, in Gauteng, South Africa.
“I visited a primary school in Soweto, where a lot of the children are orphans and there is a high incidence of AIDS,” the 22-year-old former O.C. star reveals. “I helped prepare and serve lunch to the children; it’s just simple maize and for many it’s the only meal they get. We chatted and I took part in their class. They are heartbreakingly beautiful children. I feel so privileged that I could just meet [the children] and hope to make a difference!”

Well it’s nice what she’s doing… but she’s not really a ’star’ anymore.
i don’t know… somehow i don’t see this as very genuine, although it could be.
What difference does she hope to make? I can understand if she donated, worked at the orphanage for more than a day or even talked about what the needs of the children are but it seems like alll she talked about was her day.
even if shes doing this for good publicity shes still helping and thats more then some people do…the situation in africa will never be perfect ,far from it but any effort helps …how do you change the mind of a warlord? of a sociopath? you cant but you can try to prevent chidlren from growing up and thinking evil is the only way to survive….
It is great seeing all these celebrities helping out different countries..

victims.. and now this…And how Angie is opening a clinic in Africa
to help out the needy children in her daughter’s name..

in between all the drug use and alcohol she finds time to make the photo-ops, how nice. im trying to sum up mischa. she doesn’t have her looks going for her anymore, she’s completely burned out, this girl has more miles on her then women twice her age, now she’s in africa?
she needs a stylist with her 24/7…seriously
oh how nice of her. we didnt ask her to be here in south africa. there are more poverty stricken places in america - so charity begins at home i would say. we have a lot of organizations in Gauteng where she spring boarded herself to “help” the starving kids and making out if us south african are sooo totally useless. BS!!!!BS!!!!! it is soooooooo amazing how all the americans jumps onto the African wagon to prop themselves into “stars” in your face!!!!!!! please, get real and stop using us “THIRD” world countries to make yourselves look good. You also have a major problem in the US taking care of your animals. we have only 39 million people in comparison to your 315 million and you dont need your own money for your poverty stricken citizens but come to Africa!!!!!!! Suck it!!!!
Can you say photo-op. Her eyes are glued to the lens, she barely notices the kids. She’s not even a good enough actress to pull this off!
