Older90210 Stars: Too Thin For TV?
Two of the stars of the new 90210 take the latest cover of Us Weekly.
The mag claims that two of the show’s lead actresses, Shenae Grimes (left) and Jessica Stroup (right), are too thin for TV. Shenae (est. 90 lbs) and Jessica (est. 100 lbs) have reportedly been ordered to gain weight and their costars are planning an intervention since some of them have “never seen them eat”.
Entertainment Weekly also poses a very, very similar question in one of their latest articles: “Are the skinny starlets of 90210 setting a bad example?”
One casting agent who works frequently with The CW reveals to the mag, “I know in discussions at ABC and CBS that ‘too skinny’ is no good. They talk about it as a minus point. But at The CW it’s a different story. They’re trying to pull in the Gossip Girl audience and that’s the image: hyper-skinny models.”

Well, I’m tired of people calling others anorexic especially if they are in Hollywood. Maybe, just maybe, they are just naturally that thin. I mean, reporting it to the entire world isn’t going to help with the situation!
of course just right! Look at all Asian celebs, they are 80-90lbs

shenae grimes has always been super small. Well for as long as I’ve seen her on degrassi for the past 4 years. I do think she is way to skiny. they both are. I think so anyway
i so agree … the one named sliver on the show is too too skinny… the main character … i’ve watched her grow up .her whole life like that ..
I have struggled with an eating disorder for 7 years of my life and am currently seeking treatment in order to change the bad habits I have acquired, and I find the girls on 90210 to be very damaging to young, impressionable teens. I won’t be watching the show anymore because it only feeds my desire to be as thin as possible. Luckily, the show is not very good! So at least I’m not missing out on much.
I would be incredibly refreshing to have a show aimed at teenagers where the girls looked their age and were a healthy size.

As someone who suffers from an eating disorder, I’d say these girls are way too skinny and are showing other females who watch the show (whether they’re young teens or even women in their 20s) the wrong image. Teenage girls should not be that thin and should not be walking around wearing skimpy clothes and too much make-up. These shows are making people grow up too fast and evaluating their bodies and looks in a completely unrealistic and unhealthy way.
i wonder if anyone would spew such venom at fat women…would a magazine declare someone too fat?
better yet would anyone tell a fat person they dont even know to NOT eat a sandwich?
so why are skinny girls fair game? has the world turned into goldilocks? too fat,too skinny …just today someone told me im too thin and boney ..how am i supposed to respnd to that?
Normally I would say shut up, but there is that one 90210 girl(1st one on the cover) is really just ridiculously skinny.
umm did anybody see prom night jessica stroup was about 20 to 30 pounds heavier in it so obviously this is not her natural weight so to number 12 you are wrong. shenae grimes kind of looks naturally petite but still she could gain like 6 pounds and still be petite. its a bad example for teenage girls and thats a fact. but this show is horrible anyway its a great way to put you to sleep. i didnt see last night epi…but i did see last weeks and stroup looked liuek she was going to fall down there is skinny and then there is emaciated.
But the one on the left shenae doesn’T look that skinny but the one on the right looks anorexic. But what i find weird is that on the show yeah they look skinny but not as skinny as on those pictures. I wouldn’t mind looking like shenae :P
GG stars are not thin. they are just fine. these on the other hand is way to skinny. it look so disgusting.ew.
I don’t know about Shenae, but the other girl starred in Prom Night as the friend that got killed and she had a lot more weight on her(look up pictures). So the naturally skinny thing goes out the window…I couldn’t believe that was the same girl….CRAZY

I actually noticed how thin they were in the pilot.
I don’t think Shenae looks bad, Jessica is really thin, but that could just be the way she is. The so called ’sources’ said that they were thin to start with and are even thinner. That picture of Jessica was taken at the Teen Choice Awards. I doubt she’s even more thinner now.
Yes, they need to put on weight, they’re too thin, but do they really need to put this on a cover of a magazine?!? That would never be done if a person was too fat. People need to remember its just as offensive if a person is too thin!!
Anorexia is such an overused an offensive word. People call Keira Knightley anorexic, yet she seems happy and healthy, never gaunt looking.
As for these girls, Shenae is definitely not too thin. She’s always been like that. Jessica is another story, but she’s been quite thin for quite a while.
