Older90210 Stars: Too Thin For TV?
Two of the stars of the new 90210 take the latest cover of Us Weekly.
The mag claims that two of the show’s lead actresses, Shenae Grimes (left) and Jessica Stroup (right), are too thin for TV. Shenae (est. 90 lbs) and Jessica (est. 100 lbs) have reportedly been ordered to gain weight and their costars are planning an intervention since some of them have “never seen them eat”.
Entertainment Weekly also poses a very, very similar question in one of their latest articles: “Are the skinny starlets of 90210 setting a bad example?”
One casting agent who works frequently with The CW reveals to the mag, “I know in discussions at ABC and CBS that ‘too skinny’ is no good. They talk about it as a minus point. But at The CW it’s a different story. They’re trying to pull in the Gossip Girl audience and that’s the image: hyper-skinny models.”

its unfair! just because they are on TV and they are ‘too skinny’, they need to start to eat cause its a bad example? what about the fat ones?

I remember watching the first episode where Shenae Grimes (Annie) and her brother were in the pool and she was in a yellow bathingsuit. I almost dropped my drink. I was in complete shock at how thin she is…I thought I was the only one though. I noticed throughout the shows that whenever they have eating scenes people around her eat yet she moves the food around with her fork.
Dressed as they are on the cover of the magazine, they definitely look too skinny. On the show, they wear clothes that cover more. More food wouldn’t hurt them at all.

I’m sure that’s only 10lbs but still it makes a HUGE difference.
Shenae is really skinny indeed.
Her clothes look so weird on her..especially her jeans..it’s like she’s wearing kid’s jenas and they’re ALWAYS too big for her thighs and butt.
And she looks like she has a huge head.
Jessica is thin but her clothes suit her better and she looks awesome to me. Really beautiful girl.

I knew jessica growing up we weren’t close but she has always been skinny. I notice that there skinny but I don’t think there starving themselves. The story is prob made up just for sales. But they seem edited in that picture on the show they looked more full.
They are definitely too thin.
So what?? I weigh 96lbs… but then again I’m just 5”4… I know I’m short..
But Shenae, really 90′lbs… Not EVERYONE in California weighs less than 100lbs… and since she’s from Canada, she doesn’t really know how Calif really works… :P
look amazing? Whoever said that needs a reality check. Maybe the network should start casting normal looking girls instead of casting anorexic girls…they all look the same.

I agree and Shenae has been around for a while on the Canadian airways with Degrazzi the next generation and she did not look that thin then… I agree they are setting a bad example and the last thing the world needs is to fall bad into this groove of eating disorders being glorified, I think Hollywood and even the modeling industry has been improving a lot, slowly mind you but it is a start.
These girls, aswell as Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl, are too thin! It’s ridiculous that these girls are on TV trying to set an example for teenage girls!

I noticed on the very first episode that the girls looked anorexic.
It’s frustrating that these are the people that naive teens look up to.
I’m not sure if they are naturally this thin but It doesn’t look like it to me.
The first thing I noticed when watching the new 90210 was how skinny these two are. They need some help.
they don’t look very healthy. don’t get me wrong they are beautiful girls but…it looks like they need some weight on em.
When i first watched the show i didn’t realize their weight.
I think they look beautiful. they are a little thin but everybody wishes they could look that amazing. you may say you don’t want to look that skinny but it is mainly because you will never be that skinny, it’s yourself in denile. but personally i htink jessica and shenae look fabulous. i think i may just start my diet tomorrow! GO SKINNY CHICKS! XOXO
Shenae is normal but not the other one, she is anorexic for sure.
And the GG cast is normal, leighton is beautiful !!!
um….anorexic much…….the shows crap aswell it just teaches girls to be whores.I like gossip girl better….at least they are normal with normal bodies.
