Check Burn After Reading this weekend

Everyone in the cast is pitch-perfect, but the two that stand out most are Malkovich and Pitt, who turn in the best performances of their more recent careers. The effortless style and line delivery of Malkovich as the pompous Cox makes the audience really want to hate him and at the same time feel sorry for him. Meanwhile, it’s refreshing to see Pitt cutting loose in the ultimate anti-Brad Pitt role as Chad, dressed in tight bike shorts with goofily bleached hair dancing geekily with his ever-present iPod headphones in. With the help of the Coens’ direction, they’re sure to be two Oscar contenders for Best Supporting Actor this year.

It is apparent that the Coen brothers are experts in the field. Following the Academy Award-winning “Fargo” and the more recent “No Country for Old Men,” Joel and Ethan always bring their films to a whole different level than most of the other films out in the theaters today. They are so original in everything they do that the audience may not always love what it sees, but it will definitely never forget what it has seen. “Burn After Reading” is nothing short of unconventional, maybe a little bit controversial, but above all, entertaining.

Jason’s curious buddy Brad
Jason Flemyng is a busy man. The actor and co-owner of The Duchess pub in South London, he divides his time between organising pub quizzes and jetting off to film sets.

He’s currently on his lunch break from filming ITV sci-fi drama Primeval.

“I’m more of a demented figurehead for The Duchess,” he confesses. “Especially as I’m doing Primeval at the moment so we work from 6.30 in the morning until eight at night so I’m absolutely useless to the pub - I’m a complete liability and I’m never there. But in terms of resting and a lull I’m there as much as I can be.”

Earlier this year he was away filming The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt, a man who he is full of praise for.

“Brad’s an angel,” says Jason. “When we did Snatch we used to go to Guy’s pub, The Punchbowl. He’s been a great, lovely supporter. He’s been really, really supportive, and even though he said it was nothing to do with him, I know that the reason I got that part was because of Brad.”

Jason is just as enthusiastic about the film.

“It’s an F Scott Fitzgerald novel about a man who ages backwards. So he’s 90 when he’s born and he’s born like a little Shar-Pei dog, like a little old man in a baby’s body and he ages backwards and dies as an infant. It’s really beautiful. It’s a really dark, strange, lovely story and I’m really excited about it, I think it’s going to be great.”

Even more exciting is 41-year-old Jason’s few minutes on the screen where he feels he beats Brad in the looks department.

“I play his dad,” he explains. “So at one point I was 32 and he was 92 and for a brief moment of time I was better looking than him, just briefly. But then he soon becomes Brad again and then all the men have to deal with the fact that they’re always going to be slightly out of focus and second best, really.”

Brad and Angelina’s ever expanding brood were ever present on the set of the film.

“He’s got his posse with him at most times,” reveals Jason. “So we had little Pax and all that lot racing around like mad children. They’re fantastic.

“I think he’s a little tireder than he used to be. But Brad’s just the same. He was always huge so nothing is going to change him.”

Interesting, but something symbiotic happens… With Aniston, Brad was the pretty one compared to her, since she doesn’t exactly exude feminine beauty. With Angelina, the epitome of femininity, there is NO way Brad can look more feminine than her, no matter how ‘pretty’ he may be. So, naturally his ‘masculine’ side gets the boost, and I am sure it also has the impact on his psyche, not to mention to his character as an actor, as more mature and masculine male. It is truly beautiful to watch the personal growth of Brad ever since he and Angie got together.

Is the X gay? Is that why Brad is fighting so hard for equal rights for everyone so that she can finally get hitched with whoever so that he is off the game…

Didnt Brad support another proposition (or was it the same one) when he flew all the way from India for 1 day in Nov 2 years back to make a case for some proposition and flew right back…

Anyhow every citizen has a right to voice their opinion, (heck Matt D did) and what Brad is asking for is equality in terms of treatment. Its like people say they are pro life and when that child grows up to be gay and wants equal rights, then the game is not so even anymore.. Its just unfair in those terms.. So let every person have the right to make their own choice.. good , bad or indifferent..

also, if this proposition is blocked, then does that mean we can get the tabloids all worked up for an impending JP marriage right here in CA.. OMG!!!!!

Brad is asking for equality how hard is that to get.I think Brad had such a hard time in his marriage that he wouldn’t want anyone to marry and be stuck in an unhappy marriage.Gay people are denied a lot of things because of who they are and thats what Brad is fighting for.
