Kate Winslet Has A Fear Of Flying

Kate Winslet signs some autographs for fans as she arrives at LAX airport in Los Angeles after a flight from New York City on Wednesday.

It’s been rumored that the 32-year-old British actress will next star in Fear of Flying, an adaptation of Erica Jong’s 1973 best-selling novel about a married poet who starts fulfilling some of her sexual fantasies.

“I would love to see Kate Winslet in that role,” director Diane English tells E!.”She’s got the script, so we’ll see.”

English wrote and directed The Women, which is currently out in theaters. She’ll likely be penning the screenplay and directing Fear of Flying.

What a wild part to play. I remember reading that book as a kid and thinking “Boy, I did not know that women could think about sex like this”. I recall a passage where she describes a guy as “not too successful with wiping his ass. He left **** stripes on my sheets”. I apologize Ms. Jong if I misquotated a word or two but I think this is pretty close to verbatim. What an impression that made on a 9 year old!

Kate’s not the only celeb that’s afraid, to fly….I read someplace I think People magazine, that the Irish guy who was in “A Beautiful Mind” is also terribly phobic about flying. There’s a lot of good free info hereFree Fear of Flying Help - og Yeah..wasn’t Whopee just yakking about it too on The View?.
