You are right smoking ciggies and weed and tanning don’t guarentee cancer, but they increase the risk. The top three contributors to the risk of getting cancer are growing older, tobacco use and sun.

Smokers are more likely than nonsmokers to develop cancer of the lung, larynx (voice box), mouth, esophagus, bladder, kidney, throat, stomach, pancreas, or cervix. They also are more likely to develop acute myeloid leukemia (cancer that starts in blood cells). (that is a direct quote from the National Cancer Institute)
And on sun: It causes early aging of the skin and skin damage that can lead to skin cancer.
So Rien, she is growing older, smoking ciggies and weed and tanning. I would say her risk factor to develop cancer are a lot higher than those of us who don’t smoke and don’t tan.

Maybe you should inform yourself before you make asinine comments. And you aren’t the only one who has had first hand experience with cancer babe, those of us who have — generally don’t smoke, stay out in the sun, and do other things that would increase our risk factors.
If Jen wants to smoke like a chimney and tan her skin into leather that is her right. She has enough money that we, as taxpayers, won’t have to pay for her treatment.

Just like I said, Lung Cancer and Skin Cancer mostly you get by choice. Even sometimes a passive smoker can get it too.

But there are many kinds of cancer. And if somebody try to raise money against this disease, at least what I can do is to say thank you. Because I have been there. I know and I can see how hard it was for my family to deal with a little amount of money that we have. Between choosing new books or new blood.

I wonder, if it is somebody whom you adore raising money for the same reason, if you will write the same sentences.

With this limitation:

* Stay out of direct sun from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
* Use fresh sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher)–toss out last year’s supply.
* Lather extra sunscreen on high, rounded skin: Nose, tops of ears, exposed scalp, shoulders, knees, and tops of feet.
* Slide some lip balm with sunscreen on your lips. and keep the tube handy for reapplication.

You’re right that smoking doesn’t automatically cause cancer, but it does increase the risk.
There are other things that smoking causes, like wrinkles, lines running between nose and mouth, yellow nails, etc .
I see it in somebody I know. She lights her next cigarette with the one in her hand. She smokes throughout dinner! The drapes in her house smell of cigarettes, but I’m sure she doesn’t even notice it.

If a smoker sees the ad that show the picture of a lung of a lung cancer victim, I’m sure he/she would stop immediately!

that’s exactly what I was saying. Smoking and enjoying the sun raises the risk, I agree. Though it doesn’t mean that she will automatically get it, if she takes a lot of precautions. Lung Cancer, can also be caused by asbestos and air pollution. I don’t know about other country, but asbestos is forbidden to be used in housing here. And air pollution….well, check the policy of your own government…then you will find out.

I post about breast cancer and enjoying the sun only to say that even a person who suffered from breast cancer and was undergoing chemo was allowed to enjoy the sun. You know, Dancer, to inform myself about cancer, any kind of cancer, and how to deal with it….

You know, until you are in this situation, you don’t know how good it feels to know that somebody else thinks about you (direct or indirectly). That’s why I don’t judge what she does. What she did to her body is her own business, but if she is willing to spend sometimes to raise money to help other people (or may be even gave her own money), I would not look for mistake that she makes. Because may be, if she reads a lot about the disease herself, and she will find out what is good and what is bad for her.

If she said, “Don’t smoke” then I would say she is a hypocrite. But until now, she doesn’t loose a single word about it, except maybe “I try to stop. I do (I heard this kind of sentence from friends of mine in the Computer Club).”

I think, it is very good for her (and for many people like me) if she stands up against cancer. And if she helped raising money, even very little, then I say thank you. I hope this money can help many people, especially the oncology department. Since until now, why our cells fight against us is not known yet.

The only difference was that she did so quietly and didn’t send out a press release every time she was doing something. Plus even if she doesn’t die from it, by smoking she is POLLUTING our environment.

If she smokes around people, she is contributing to non smoker’s passive addiction and increase in risk cancer. It’s technically slowly murdering of her direct entourage. Thank God, she only has dogs and no children around. I hate when parents smoke around their own children ! Many children have become affected by a form of asthma because of the smoke of their direct entourage and suffer from breathing difficulties at times, when it’s not a very strong form of lung cancer affecting them by the time they turn 20 !

And last but not least, as a public figure, she influences younger brains who will indulge in the same risky habits as hers, wether it is tanning, smoking or having a risky s-exual behaviour ! Stopping and/or reducing those suicidal behaviours and advocating them through ads WILL save lives by setting examples to follow and therefore proves that she indeed stands against cancer as she is putting out there contradictory signs that prove that she isn’t as concerned as sincere in her battles she pretends to be.

I cannot stand stupidity either (and you have clearly shown some ) and as for my government, you are the one who presume it is American.

Mine is european and has already undergone changes suppressing ads and grand prix sponsor in the name of the yearly 20,000,000 death related to lung cancer 75 % of which from passive non smoker in a country where more than 60 % of teens of only 14 were smoking, 95 % from smoking parents !

Now, only people who are 18 + years old can buy cigarettes. There is suppression of cigarettes smoking in all public places since 2007 and i personally refused a job in a multinational in London promoting cigarettes and where employees could smoke as i cannot stand it because of asthma related cigarettes i have developped from going out in clubs where people smoke like hell !

I wouldn’t go that far, but it is true she doesn’t have anyone that she lives for, but herself. It’s not like there are kids of hers who would lose a mother. Angelina said after she adopted Maddox she completely changed her ways, and said she would NEVER BE SELF DESTRUCTIVE AGAIN. Those Jolie haters who bring up her behavior in her youth are stuck in the past.

Angelina is a example of how a troubled youth can turn your life around. Aniston? An example of how a rich single 40 year old can lead a shallow, empty and purposeless life, promoting toxic waste (bottled water), keeping her millions (made more money than Angelina and hardly donating anything except when she is on TV).

The fact is you don’t campaign for something you are personaly promoting, especially when it comes to health and its corrolation : death. You stop smoking, then you campaign if you want credibility and your battles to be taken seriously !

And people who live in european countries experience every day the discomfort of smoking people (in the bus, train, office, street, cafes, restaurants, ect…) who won’t stop smoking even when you ask them to or cough in discomfort, telling you it is their right or to get lost even when there is a non smoking sign around !

Hospitals and cancerology units are full of people young and old fighting lung cancer (the number one cancer in young people, before leukemia, then brain cancer) who havn’t smoke one cigarette but have been exposed to it by a smoking entourage.

At 15, i was the only teen in my class (32 pupils) who didn’t smoke..but hey, my pals were all telling me that it was because i was from african background, and therefore it was a cultural thing, that it is cool to smoke.

Children in Europe are beginning to smoke around 12 years old, sometimes even at 10 years old and all the breathing health problems have triple in the last 10 years because of it, hence the government doing all these because it weighs on the social public security financials to treat them.

Today, i have read that the french government will even go further and increase the cigarettes price by 10 percent to discourage smoking and limit health problems and cancer treatment related to it.

Aniston’s entire life is suntanning. And her skin shows it, it’s leathery and has age spots and moles everywhere. PLUS, she smokes Marlboros and mary jane.

Aniston is the LAST person that should be trying to fool people into thinking she gives a rat’s azz about cancer.

Have you ever watched someone die of lung cancer from heavy smoking?

I have. Four times. All former co-workers of mine who smoked two packs a day for four decades until it all caught up with them in their early sixties.

Believe me, it is a hellacious way to die.

This is off thread a bit, but I have seen this comment on several gossip thread, and wanted to know if it was true, or just another rumor that could not be proven..

Jennifer Aniston’s Big Fat Greek Wedding Ass of the Day

I know there’s nothing more that Jennifer Aniston wants in her life than a Big Fat Greek Wedding than maybe a Big Fat Greek baby, but since that time has come and gone for her, and her life is destined to be spent alone, where the closest thing she will ever have to kids of her own are when her breeding friends ask her to be the Godmother, I have trouble understanding why because she’s not disgusting looking. I am sure there are Greek men out there from shipping families, with enough money for this greedy b*tch with unrealistic standards to accept into her v*gina, that would be happy with the fact that unlike their mother’s, her ass isn’t 300 pounds, but maybe that genetic guarantee that she will turn into their mother once a baby pops out that is keeping them away, or maybe it has to do with her desperation to get knocked up and her constantly going after the wrong guy, but I predict in a few months she’ll either be at the sperm donor clinic or raping homeless men at night to get that fetus goin’, or even worse, dating someone who isn’t a famous heart throb. She’s gotta realize that whole Brad Pitt thing was a bad judgment call on his part, and landing the best looking guy in Hollywood according to the media, doesn’t mean she is the best looking chick in Hollywood or deserves anything anyone finds attractive since she’s boring and irrelevant, either way, who really cares, I am only posting these pictures because they were saved on my computer and figured why the fcuk not.

ellie… can you say two packs a day?? That is how much I was smoking when I quit. I started smoking when I was 15 years old and by the time I was in college I was smoking two packs a day. I did two packs a day until I was 30 and quit cold turkey. I haven’t had a cigarette since. My whole life changed when I quit. I ate better, I slept better, I felt better, everything was better. If you really want to quit, you can do it. I did it and so can you. Start right now and no excuses. And good luck.

Why is it wrong for JA to be involved with cancer-fighting activities? Because she smokes. I’ve lost a father and brother to lung cancer; smoking is only one possible contributor to cancer. Maybe all those celebrities who don’t eat enough fiber should step out too; they are increasing their risk for colon cancer. Or better yet, with the rumor that cell phones contribute to an increased risk for brain cancer, all those who use cell phones should take a hike too. And, maybe Angelina should stop giving money for starving children because, by god, she eats three squares a day. Have I given enough examples to illustrate how absurd some of the comments made on this thread are.

Second, I have nothing against Brad and Angie, but the fact remains that Shiloh was conceived while Brad and Jen were still married. Brad and Jen don’t consider it cheating in their opinion. According to the definition of adultery, Brad having sex with Angelina prior to his divorce was adultery (sex outside the bonds of marriage). Now, before you all get your panties in a bunch, they are no more guilty of cheating that any other person who has had a physical relationship with someone other than their spouse. But adultery is adultery no matter how you slice it. Now, I know what you are thinking, well Jen was having a fling with Vince Vaughn. Maybe she was; maybe she wasn’t; the fact remains there is no proof that Jen committed adultery, but there is proof Brad did–an adorable little girl, Shiloh.

And, oh my gosh, I just got caught up with the whole gossip thing. Bottom line, Brad, Jen, and Angelina are happy with their lives. We should be happy for them all. Oh honey, please, grow up. Do you think Brad is such a drip that he would stay with a woman he no longer loved just because there was nobody else out there? Let me say first that I am a Brad and Angie fan, Brad since T&L, Angie since Gia. I stayed an Angie fan, but will be honest I veered away from Brad when he went into his years of isolation and made no real films after his marriage. I saw him waste his talent for years and that I found so sad. Brad practically disappeared from the screen until Oceans 11 which hooked me on Brad again. Now Brad and Angie’s careers are doing well, and that is really what i like to talk about.

Now I never saw Brad and JA as a love match. From the beginning they both gave the strangest interviews, saying words that appeared to be from a PR script, JA never saying much of anything that did not seem played to an audience, Brad saying cryptic words and phrases mixed in with a prepared script. I never saw the love match some saw, I saw two people who liked each other, were comfortable with each other, who settled for each other as being safe. JA seemed very high strung at times and a bit of a control freak (I remember well seeing the 2002 emmy ceremony where JA won and she did not even thank Brad but thanked everyone else under the sun) and easygoing Brad who usually seemed very calm looking so unhappy when she did not even mention him (the cameras were trained on his face and he was definitely hurt). Then afterwards JA thanked him for “holding her together” at the press conference. Not my love, but holding her together. Brad and JA cared for each other, that I do not deny, but Brad never cared for JA as he had cared for GP. Maybe he was determined not to let JA hurt him as GP had done. Again, this is just my opinion. Brad was head on heels for GP, never saw that with JA, I do see it with Angie. JA seemed to see Brad as a calming supportive mate, and Brad saw JA as a safe mate unlike GP. Brad helped JA in her career as much as he could, but in the end JA’s efforts make or brake her own career.

Now I see Brad with Angie and I see real love. They can’t keep their hands off each other, they follow each other with their eyes, they always know exactly where the other is. Yes Brad is a man of few words, but what he says about Angie seems to come straight from his heart. Brad never called JA his other half. Some of you are desperate to negate the love Brad has for Angie and their kids, the man practically glows when he is with Angie and his kids or talking about his family. Make no mistake, Angie and the kids are his family. I really don’t care when they got together, it is none of my business. But I do know that Brad is not the type of person who does things casually, he took his marriage seriously as did JA. They tried and failed and for some of you to beat anyone over the head about their marriage failure is crazy. It was not your marriage.

I firmly believe that he did not just throw JA out like trash, that he fought his feelings for Angie, and that Angie fought her feelings for him, that JA and Brad decided together that they were not right for each other. I also recognize that some of you were and remain upset by the swiftness of Brad and Angie getting together but the marraige was over and the divorce filed. Brad was 41 and saw in Angie the life he needed. Men have biological clocks also, and Brad yearned for kids. JA did not yearn for kids. Evidence is Brad has 6 kids and Jen has none.

For JA fans, I have some advice. You all never talk about her career, which is moribund at this time. You all only talk about her body, her looks, her vacations, her clothes. She will soon be 40, don’t you realize that? There has got to be more to life than the superfical way you all see her. She is not RGreen, that was a TV role. How disappointed she has to be with the nonsale of Management, no release of Traveler on the horizon, the multiple change in release dates of SNTIY, her whole career hanging and depending on a movie in which a dog is the star. She seems a person who cannot venture out of her routine, who does the same things over and over. JA’s actions and words allowed you all to make her some symbol of a wronged woman when that is not the truth. Now she is trapped in that role and it is hurting her career, she is now seen as a multiple dumpee who no man wants. Is this what you want her to be? JohnM has people laughing at her, not with her. Don’t you see that? When you rush to rant and rage against the Jolie-Pitts and scream for them to break up you help her lose the goodwill of many. A fact is that few people want to see a family with six small kids hit the skids. Why not concentrate on JA and stop the attacks on Brad and Angie and their kids? IT IS 2008. That’s my advice for all it is worth to some of you.

Does not everyone adjust to changing life circumstances?

Angelina said she would not have biological children when she was not in a commited and loving relationship and had adopted a child and gotten divorced for the 2nd time from a man she loved who did not want her adopted child. The she met Brad, and as she said “she fell in love”. Her life changed, she was with a man she loved who loved her, a man who wanted biological children. So Angelina now has given birth to 3 children. That does not make her a hypocrite, that makes her a person like all others who change due to what is happening in their lives.

Now this 5 nanny stuff is only in tabloids. Yes they have nannies, I have seen 2 women with them at times and no more. Everyone who knows thme says they mostly take care fo their kids by themselves or with the help of Brad’s parents. The nannies can’t breastfeed which Angelina has done with all 3 of her kids. Now if you have a reliable source as to 5 nannies then give it. Angelina herself has said they have help but no one spends the nite. Brad’s costars in CCBB say that they only saw the kids with Brad, Angelina or the grandparents, that’s it. They have no reason to lie. If you want the sources I will gladly give them to you.

The organizations receiving the donations make the donation announcements, not Brad or Angelina. If Anniston donated the group would announce the donation, that is how charities work. I volunteer with a nonprofit and we make all donations public to encourage more donations, this is how things work. The organization needs the publicity. You really are ignorant of the process. We usually ask the donor to make a statement just as Brad and Angelina are asked to do.

By the way I am not a freak for supporting Brad and Angelina and their family, you just had to resort to name calling did you not. It would be so nice to for once have a rational and logical discussion with someone who is an Anniston fan. But I guess those type of Anniston fans do not exist.

By the way X-17 has a video of her coming out of the fur store in LA. Though I do not wear fur, I do not attack others who are misguided and continue to do so. That store also does sell other things than furs.

Well, congratulations and good luck. Although I can say for a fact that smoking had no effect on conception in my own case; I conceived with no problem at all while smoking like a stack. But although I successfully kicked a two-pack-a-day habit and haven’t smoked in over 20 years (I can’t even stand to be within 100 feet of someone smoking), I won’t condemn someone who tries and fails to quit. I know from experience how hard it is. You just have to stick to it until you’re through it.

2. She did not made fun of him. She was joking, saying he would have to find someone else to have all of those babies with. And even if she did. they were married, they were allowed to make jokes and make fun of each other.
3. Troy was Brad’s choice, not hers. She was doing Friends at the time and working on reconstructing their new house, so it’s not like she had nothing to do. What would you say of Brad that wasn’t even there on the last day of Friends?

My opinion is that Jennifer appears to be disconnected, even from herself. Her interview from the festival in Toronto in which she states that she had fun making the movie, management, even though people might not like the movie, It sounds like she’s trying to hedge her losses. She seems that she masks her insecurities by trying to do damage control before knowing the outcome of reviews. I wonder if she was not an actress, what field or career would she have pursued?
I wish her friends would be more honest with her, rather than support her insecurities.

I don’t get it! Jennifer Aniston is a supporter and a public figure for “Stand up to Cancer”, yet she is a habitual chain smoker. Isn’t this contradictory or an oxymoron? I would feel a lot better donating to an organization that not only stands up to cancer, but also promote good health habits and smoking is not one of them. Last time I heard, smoking causes cancer. Do you get my point? I just had to comment. I am surprised the American Cancer Association did not catch this blooper, other people are noticing.The topper will be a picture of her smoking while wearing that T-shirt.

I agree that if people smoke, lie in the sun, drink themselves under the table, and do other kinds of things that are risky for their health and wellbeing, are willing to raise funds to fight diseases, that’s great.
It’s the way I feel about what Angie and Brad do too. People criticize how they raise money, who they give money to and how much, that they haven’t adopted in the US, etc, etc.
Who cares! They make the decisions because it’s their money and it’s going to benefit people who need help. That is all that matters.

What does ‘norton your bag’ mean? I’ve never heard the word ‘norton’ as a verb.

Do you knit a whole thing? Do you actually finish what you knit, and do you wear what you knit? I can’t knit, but I do sew simple things.

No. She was not going thru surgery. But it was the end of a 10-year job. It was obviously a very emotional and sad day for her. All the other husbands/wives were there. Anyway, not a big deal, i was just gave that example cause some people just looove to say that she was the bicth who was never there for her husband, when things may have not been quite like that.

And laura2 - why do you Aniston fans do her a disservice but constantly feeling sorry for her. She is a woman pushing 40 in less than 6 months. By then..at 40..most women have/are going through divorce, with kids, jobs, and still they carry on. None of them does this:

1.) cry because some called them homely when in fact, that is true. Jen is homely looking
2.) need to go all over the media and talk about a divorce of a merger(NOT REAL MARRIAGE because we can all see that(Brad and Jen union) was anything but a marriage. What with the lack of committment, sharted life goals and interest. Heck, how they lasted 7 years is a puzzle!!!

OnMyOwn and I have “known” each other for quiet a while.

You see, there are 2 kinds of IP addresses. One, is static, and the other is dynamic. The static means that it is always the same, because you make it manually, or for a website. So when we call Just Jared (for example), it will come up Just Jared (because it has the same numbers). And dynamic means that the address that is given by the provider changes at every time we are on-line.

If you said that OnMyOwn and Snowblood are actually the same person, you must be able to track her/his IP address for the moment. Because, if she is off-line, then her IP address is “gone”. Unless you have some very good equipment, you can not track her. Otherwise, you will be busy working for FBI or other law-enforcement offices.

I might not always agree with OnMyOwn, and I might have different opinions, but I will defend her rights to say it.

Just want to add a bit on the IP address as poster tracking tool business rien provided because I always found this business of flipping names hilarious.

Any one who has bought a new computer or laptop ought to wonder how MS or Norton or HP can take your registration on line. It is not your IP address, it’s your computer ID. It is like using the internal characteristics of the house to identify it instead of using the street address since the house is mobile.

Still, just because two different comments came from a computer it does not necessarily means that the only deduction resulted should be that the posters must be one person. In public places such as library, there will be several persons. Not every home can afford to give each member a computer. By the same token, two comments coming from two different computers do not necessarily mean that the posters are different individual. These are just a few points to consider.

Why all the mightily-proud-to-be-quite -smart -and-knowledgeable people buy into this flipping names business is beyond me?

I do believe that there are nuts on cyberspace posting vile comments just to rile people up for fun. Then there might be instigators from site owner too.
