Tom Cruise: Katie Was Extraordinary!

Tom Cruise: Katie Was Extraordinary!

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise enjoy a celebratory dinner at Angus McIndoe restaurant after opening night of All My Sons in New York City on Thursday night.

After Katie’s Broadway debut, Tom briefly stopped moving through a crowd at the theater to tell the Associated Press, “Did you see it? … It was extraordinary.”

There were roughly two dozen members of an anti-Scientology group that protested around the theater before the performance. The protesters held up sign saying “Scientology is a Cult,” “Free Katie,” and “Scientology Kills.”

“She was extraordinary!,” Tom gushed after watching the performance.

#74, I never said it was a review. I know the reviews don’t come out until next month. All I said was that people other than Tom have praised her performance.

She should be happy but she looks worn out and drained. IDGI! Cheer up, katie. Maybe they just give us the bad pix and so we don’t get to see the pic where she doesn’t look gaunt and pale.

Congrats to Holmes for lighting up Broadway. Tom and Katie’s smiles and hotness lights up New York.

btw # 74, thanks for the pyschiatiric evaluation, but apparently you are the one who has issues if you feel the need to accuse me of all these things that I never said.
And I notice, you didn’t copy the whole article. There were actual quotes from people who saw the show.

It was a very tough role in that she had to be delicate and hurt and strong,” said Yatauro, 54, of Glen Cove, N.Y. “She was playing against some heavyweights who’ve been around for a long time and she held her own.”

New Yorker Nadja Forbes, 35, said she was impressed by Holmes’ stage presence having known her recently as Mrs. Tom Cruise.

“She brings this fresh breeze of air not only in her acting but also in her dialogue that kind of breaks up the seriousness of what’s going on,” Forbes said. “I’m actually surprised that she’s, you know, enough of an actress for being on Broadway.”

LOL. She’s extraordinary! She’s magically extraordinary! She’s magically extraordinaryly delicious! She’s amazingly magically extraordinaryly deliciously precioulsy fantasically perfect!

have I left out any adjectives?

You still don’t get it do you, “barb”. I mentioned the people that attended the show. Apparently, you did not take the time to read my response but jumped to conclusions.

A little touchy aren’t we? LMAO!!!

Lol. you’re accusing me of being touchy when you are one who went on and on about how delusional I am even though I never said what you accused me of saying. Yea whatever, I’m done with this convo.

WAY TO GO BARB! SOMEONE CALLED 2#79 NEEDS A MEDICATION ADJUSTMENT TO CALM DOWN. It is just a Broadway play with a cult member. Only Culty Katie cares if she did good or not. And Tom, who probably bought $$$$$$ worth of cult tickets. Nothing to get THIS WIRED UP ABOUT!!

She must read the gossips to have made such a metamorphosis compared to yesterday. No sunglasses..???
BUT she would only convince me of her “happiness” if she gained at least the last 10 kilos she lost.
She looks horrible.

Oh please! Do NOT tell me we are taking reviews from random people off the street seriously here? Are you kidding me? Hah! Even if they are not simply PR plants do you actually think these people are qualified to review anything? Do you actually know if these people even exist or weren’t invented? So, so gullible and naive. LMAO!! When the real reviews come out, I don’t think “she looked thin and pretty! wee!” will quite cut it.

Guess all those acting/voice lessons on the side didn’t help her to sound more natural on stage.

And this:

“Kaite is a posh wannabe!!!! @ 09/19/2008 at 12:45 pm The bumps on her lips are from all the collagen injections not herpes! She has been getting them done so much that her lips don’t heal right! she has been overplumping and causing the marks to stay on her lips!!! That’s why they are perfectly spaced apart all over her top and bottom lips!!!”

Ah, no. Sorry honey. That’s nothing but the herp.

How did he steal the thunder (at least intentionally), #2. He’s very famous so people were bound to get all excited when he arrived.

How did he stop the crowd, #7?

They don’t care about his height, #9.

Now you’re just looking for things to find fault in , #11. He said his wife was extraordinary. There is absolutely nothing else there to imply that he thought she was better than everyone. Also, ever considered that he was ASKED how his wife was?

They were stupid and incredibly unpopular by the theatregoers, #13 and #14.

Right, #18.

You can’t read minds, #19 so don’t pretend to be able to read Holmes’.

He wasn’t behaving immaturely and that play was never going to start at 8 on the dot. And I really don’t think anyone minded anyway.

Help her daughter with what. #33?

I met a couple of Scientologists in the crowd awaiting Holmes at the theater, #42. They were really nice. All they did was just hold up signs though saying ‘Well Done Katie.’

Quit blaming Cruise for everything. You’d blame him for global warming and terrorism if you tried hard enough.

Stayed backstage, #45? That’s a bit too much don’t you think?

People everywhere were still being seated and he didn’t hold up anything. That show was never going to start at 8.

Their daughter wasn’t at the play.

That made no sense, #47.

Ever considered that the media attention on TomKat has nothing to do with them intentionally hogging the spotlight but rather that they’re very famous, #48?

TomKat shouldn’t be afraid of leaving their home because of some bigots, #51. Those protesters were there to ‘Free Katie’ remember.

Ever considered that he may have gotten stuck in Traffic or his watch was off or something so that’s why he didn’t arrive earlier? Also, it’s not like he arrived late and that show was always going to start at least 10 minutes after 8. There were still people being seated (at least in the Mezzanine area where I was at).

Only critics can find fault in a guy simply shaking hands with people for a few minutes!

All Cruise did was shake some hands, #55. He never repeated what he did at that stupid premiere no one can shut up about.

Why should he have to entered earlier or later than anyone else? Not only did he get to the theater before start time, start time was already delayed and plenty of people were being seated.

I gotta agree with the critics on this one, #56. Yes. He was popular at the Batman Begins premiere and sire everyone wanted to see him but he should have just entered and not behaved so childishly even though he likely never had any intention of offending anyone. It was his girlfriend’s time to shine and he should have let her.

For the “All My Sons” premiere though, he did nothing wrong and everyone is just nit-picking.

Get a life, #63.

Right, #65.

The Daily News also liked her, #69.

Give credit where credit is due, #74. You’d have to be crazy not to think that Holmes didn’t play a big part in making that preview a success.

If that quote that begins with “If Holmes felt nervous and jitter…” isn’t legitimate praise than I don’t know what is.

I think the opinions of the paying public are important too since they prove that not everyone is from Just Jared and that she has plenty of fans.

You think that the reporters just happened to have interviewed plants out of the hundreds of random attendees, #85?

MAl'denken @ 09/19/2008 at 5:55 pm

Katie did a fantastic job and she’s indeed a great actress. The play was great. Period. She seems like a lovely nice, normal down to earth girl.

i hate this girl, i’m tired of this couple JJ!Please talk about real couple: Angie and Brad example…

Question for all the worshippers…

If Katie is such a great actress, why can’t she get a leading role?

It’s because she is pathetic.

She belongs in a dinner theater, not broadway. Being married to Tom would be a plus to get her the perfect lead in a great movie if she were a good or great actress. Even Tom’s 25 years in Hollywood can’t persuade someone to give this “actress” a leading role.

lol

katie looks so happy

My bff is watching Katie so I envy her.

I actually think Katie looks very nice. She looks happy and in love. As far as Tom , I really doubt he was the only person at the theater still being seated and ushered himself in like the King of Broadway.( no show I have ever been to has started on time , and people are always coming in last minute…not just Tom) And as for saying Katie was extraordinary , what else would her husband say. He’s not married to the other actors , he’s married to Katie. I’m very sure John Lithgow and Diane Wiest didn’t need to be included in Tom endorsement , they are wonderful and everyone knows that. Tom was just excited for his wife.

I remember the Tom of yesteryear :) Like the other poster said .Many of the fun and good times my friends and I had were watching his movies. I mean what girl didn’t love Maverick ,come on.

So maybe he did get a little over zealous when he met Katie and went a little looney expressing himself about it , but hey if my dh didn’t act like I was the center of his world when we first met , I wouldn’t have stayed with him :) I’m sure Katie loved the fact that he was that in love with her ( and yes , I believe he is)

I mean the past is the past , let it go …How many of you would like your past deeds brought up to you on a daily basis ? Any skeletons in any of your closets?

Creature from the Black Lagoon @ 09/20/2008 at 12:06 am

You know I have been so harsh on everyone and I truly am sorry for being such an ASS! Will you all forgive me as I haven’t had my medication this afternoon and my white jacket is a bit snug today making me extra cranky!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU! AND I DO HATE KATIE! I REALLY DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You seem to have it together , #63.

So Right, #65.

The Daily News also hated her, #69.

The hand-holding is the most artificial thing. Not relaxed like a content couple; very stagy and over-done. He is manic. He was with Nicole and she couldn’t take his over-wrought, controlling, nature.

Hotness Overload!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get over it. Katie has never looked better than she does after hooking up with Tom; totally classy. Let’s not forget the publicity she gets. Who is rescuing you from your relationships? I think this whole scientology “thing” is blown out of proportion. Tom came to see his wife perform and by what we are reading on the internet he seems to have been impressed by her. Good for them…

Katie looks all aglow
while
Tom looks so young and beaming.
Katie surely takes care of him.
