It would have been inappropriate for Katie or any celebrity to be a part of the 9/11 memorial ceremonies. It is not about them! It is about the victims of that tragic day and their families.

I’m guessing the opinion that Katie doesn’t deserve her status is based on her marriage to a superstar. It would be easy to believe that his “pull” got her the lead.

But it’s well worth pointing out, she had built an impressive resume before she ever met Tom Cruise.

I think she’s a fine actress and by all accounts is a very decent human being. Give her a break. Go see her show at least, and THEN presume to assess her skills.

She’s a working actress, so she’s always going to be doing SOMETHING. Her tabloid index is high now, sadly for her, so nothing she does will go unnoticed, and all too much of the junk-food rag propaganda will be negative or wildly suggestive (that’s their meat and drink). The fair thing now is to try and be objective as best we can, and if she’s doing a good job, then give credit where due.

You keep saying they’re fame hungry yet you never explain how, #11. Simply accusing them of being fame hungry is one thing but don’t you have to back it up.

It may not have been sold out in the morning. I believe this show is at the half price tix booths in the city, so by show time people may have gotten their half price tickets thereby “selling” it out. Less money for the backers, but it looks better to have an audience as well as a fuller audience provides more support to the actors on stage.

creature– if katie was talented enough to get a leading role, she would have already got one. Let’s see…she’s been acting like she can act for at least 12 years now and has not had a leading role in a motion picture, muchless a major motion picture.

Katie Holmes’ only roles have been written for the teeny-bopper crowd (16 years old and younger). Most adults wouldn’t have the slightest interest in watching any of the B movies she has been in. If that’s the kind of “entertainment” you want to watch..whatever floats your boat.

Katie is still a C lister with A lister fame. That is because she is married to a not very much liked A lister. Most of her roles in the past were not leading roles and most of them suck. She had to prove herself yet to claim the status in her own status.
The sad thing is everthing she is in because of whom she is married to and their stratagie it always get hyped very much more than it needed for C lister .I really thought with that all hype and her likealbity( as they say), her movie Mad Money (that came out earlyer this is year) going ot become a success but it didn’t

This is all so strange, she doesn’t have to work, or really prove herself since she has nothing to prove, she has all the money she wants, can go whereever she wants and whenever she wants, of course with TC’s approval, and yet she isn’t at home with her daughter during the age that is so important in building their personalities. Her daughter is being raised by Tom’s sister and mother in California while she is in a play on Broadway in New York. I don’t think this woman actually wanted to get pregnant, it was unintended, yet it happened, and produced a lovely child who is severely neglected by her mother and you can tell by the child’s actions. How sad, she has everything that matters to her materially and her stage persona. I guess that is what is important to Katie Holmes. This is what hides the truth. Like the classic line in one of Tom’s movies “the truth, you can’t handle the truth.”

nicole b., Suri has been with Katie in NY for most of the time that she has been there. She only stayed in CA with Tom during the last week of rehearsals when she was really busy. Now that rehearsals are done, she can spend most of the day with Suri except for the days that she has matinees like Wed and Saturdays.

When T&K first started “dating”, Katie was ranting and gushing about how they couldn’t stand to be apart, would never be apart, would always be on their honeymoon etc. It was so fakey and disgusting……..

So here they are living 2000 + miles away from one another? WTF??? Regardless of all the gushing they did, how many newly married couples would want to be apart? That’s why I say that this relationship is just about over. Nobody (except 2 people that aren’t in love) would dare to be apart like this unless they DON’T want to be together.

Tom just bought that huge estate and redecorated it. Within a month or so, she announces she’s going to NY. I believe she is returning to where she left off when she met him. He just happened to want her gone sooner so he pulled some strings and got her out of the house sooner. Again, no couple in love would go for this long distance relationship.

She doesn’t really have a career or much of a chance of having much of one now. She is a joke, just like Tom. No one wants to associate with either one of them because everyone thinks they’re both crazy.
So why the need to live in NYC if Tom’s in LA.

Back to Suri. I don’t believe any good mother would WANT to be away from any child of theirs. Sometimes some mothers have to make decisions to be away from their kids because they need a job or other circumstances. There are no circumstances that would require Katie to be away from Suri. She has enough money (with Tom’s approval) to do what she wants.

Maybe she had no choice in the matter but to go to New York. Maybe Tom agreed to go along with the charade until this play is over. I bet the “divorce” will be announced then. You can tell by looking at photos of them that they are uncomfortable with each other and trying too hard.

As for Katie’s performance itself, I will reserve judgment until the critics give their verdict. There hasn’t been any so far which really doesn’t bode well because if she had been great, some enthusiastic reporter would have written a preview report by now. That’s what happened with Daniel Radcliffe’s “Equus” another A lister who went Broadway. Which BTW is what can be considered a frenzy because Dan made it a point to sign autographs after every show.
